Private retreat with views & lovely landscaping
Great spot to stay in Thousand Oaks. The back yard is beautiful & comfortable. Was perfect for our family & dogs. Beautiful views and a lovely sunny family room. Nice SoCal indoor outdoor living.

Family Time and Memories
Our multigenerational family enjoyed our time together at this modern rustic retreat! Lots of room for puzzles, crafts, relaxing and spending time on the patio enjoying the unbelievable views! This is our third year and will continue to return!

Lovely weekend getaway
We enjoyed our stay so much. It was amazing to be able to open up the big doors to the outside and feel like the house extended right into nature. Such a peaceful, special spot. We had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun. We can't wait to come back!

Rustic Modern Retreat
My family and I attended a wedding in Camarillo and we needed a place to stay. I was not a fan of the hotels in the area. so I looked at VRBO for additional options. The house stood out from others and seemed to fit my group perfectly. The house is very cool with great views and lots of outdoor space. I really enjoyed opening the large bi-fold doors and sipping my coffee in the back yard and watch the birds. The art studio is also a cool addition with lots of games and activities to pass the time. We did have some troubles with the A/C when we checked in but Daniel was very responsive and was able to get someone there quickly to solve the problem. I would definitely love to return to this modern Rustic retreat again!

We stayed three days to visit family in the area. We all loved the house and outdoor spaces. Plenty of room for 5 of us. Enjoyed eating meals outside on patio with incredible views. Kitchen well stocked. Only issue for us was the beds were not very comfortable. Overall, visit was very enjoyable.

Overall the stay was great for a girls trip/birthday retreat. The place was nicely secluded, quaint, and spacious. The location is great; minute from local shops, and fun activities. Beautiful views from every angle. The space was clean and well kept. Each room ahead it’s own unique style which was great. The house is pet and family friendly. Great for large family gatherings, and relaxing get away. The fire pit makes for long memorable evening; greats for a night in. The view of the mountains from the secondary bedrooms is spectacular, especially from early morning. Would definitely come back.

Great House for entertainment
We've stayed in this house multiple times. The house is extremely well equipped with anything you need to prepare meals. Beds are comfortable and the location is quiet. The outdoor space is nice to just hang out with family or firends. There is a small putting green and horseshoe game to play. One room is very large with a long table that can easily seat 10 people. Stores are near by . The host is prompt with answers to question.

Family Christmas
Multi-generational family Christmas filled with fun and memories! This is the second time we have stayed and it was just as good as the first time. The location is perfect for beach days, hiking and visited the Reagan Presidential Library. Lots of space indoors and out and this year we were able to enjoy the outside table and fire pit as the rain stayed away for a few days. Daniel the host is professional and responsive. We had a great time!

Magical experience
Rented this property to stay with my daughter, mother and daughter’s brides maids the night before her wedding, for getting ready day of the wedding and for the new couple to stay on their wedding night. It was everything and more that we could have asked for. Clean, organized, beautiful surrounding. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful spot! Overall Great but...
We really had a great time here, but there are a couple things keeping me from a full 5 stars Pros: big, spacious and beautiful. No issues checking in. The backyard felt magical in the mornings and at night. Feels very private from neighbors or strangers. Like a little escape on a hill. Was a wonderful place for a family retreat. Cons: -Surprising lack of privacy: The master bathroom had this glass sliding door separating the toilet from the sink, shower/bath and closet. It wasnt an issue for me and my husband but since the house only has 2 bathrooms, and we had 7 guests it made it difficult to space out bathroom time w/ nonfamily. It's also a really tight space and the glass door only did a little to make that space feel less small. So if you are claustrophobic, maybe consider that. Everything else about both bathrooms was great :) and since the property was so separate from the other neighbors the only lack of privacy was between our household guests I also went into the VRBO concerned about privacy in the 4th studioroom. I was assured that the barn door made the space private, however the room had two walls made of glass windows, one of which was facing the cars in the driveway/front door. Neither windows had any curtains. In addition to that the room has a skylight so my family in that room had to wear eye masks and only change clothes in the bathroom because of the lack of privacy. But that could have mostly been remedied with some blind attachments for the glass doors. -Friendly Stray cats were an add on We loved the two stray cats that kept visiting the property, it was a bonus for us, but it would have been nice to be told about them in case any of us had allergies. Especially since these cats were overly friendly and apparently accustomed to being petted and let in the house. One of them literally jumped in the house through an open bedroom window and we often had to race into the house to close the door before the cats got in. -Cleanliness Dirty patio couches Were cleaned of debree day after arrival and most towels were left in the dryer upon arrival -Lastly communication with Host Started off great. Quick responses and really friendly. Only con came the day after our visit, when a guests thought they might have forgotten something so when I reached out to him about it, I never heard back. Its been 2 weeks But other than that we absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this spot or come again in the future

Great house --really perfect for our stay. Host Daniel very responsive. Well appointed and better than described. Daniel was very helpful when we had a minor hiccup using one of the appliances and that was fixed immediately after check out. Would definitely stay here again!

Great house in a great location
We went to a family wedding in Thousand Oaks. This property was a perfect place to stay as we were able to visit friends and family before the wedding. We didn’t bring our dogs but I wasn’t sure when i reserved so i looked for a house that allowed dogs. The beds were comfortable, nice bathrooms, both have a double sink which came in handy. TV is a little in the small side but we weren’t there for that anyway. The kitchen was nice and well stocked with plates, glasses, pot, pans etc. We had a few questions while there and the owner was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend staying at this house.

Relaxing Space For The Whole Family
This house is in the middle of residential suburbia. Once on the property, though, you feel a world away from everything. There are very few houses breaking up the views of the hills. A short walk from the house (5 minutes) gets you to a trailhead. It is even possible to hike to the beach from the house (+/- 8 miles). The two toddlers we were with took the beach hike option off the table. Fortunately, a number of beaches are only a 20-30 minute drive. There are some pretty respectable restaurants within a 5 minute drive. If you're the cooking type, the kitchen is fully equipped and well laid out. I only have a couple very minor critiques. One was a lack of accessible cleaning supplies. The host assured me this was unexpected and would be rectified. Maybe they were even there and we couldn't find them. The other was the bathroom barn door was a little loud. I understand the design need for a sliding door given the layout. However, it was loud enough that we were worried it would wake up the light sleepers. By no means a big deal, just an observation. All told it is a great property. Everyone said they'd stay here again if the opportunity arose.

Rustic family Christmas!
Our multi-generational family of 5 spent an amazing Christmas in this beautiful home! When we arrived, the location, landscaping and amazing view were better than we even expected. Plenty of room in the kitchen for cookie baking and Christmas Eve dinner prep. The open room with the long table served a Christmas dinner for 9 people perfectly. Puzzles were set up in the kitchen banquet area and the family room gathering area accommodated our family perfectly for opening presents and playing games. Very comfortable home during an extremely rainy Christmas week. The views out the open concept family room, bedrooms and extra room were breathtaking and we took many pictures for our memory book! We will definitely return to this location and enjoyed our time!

Our family stayed here for my sisters wedding in Malibu. This beautiful house is tucked away at the end of a street, fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and has an amazing outdoor space! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

We loved almost everything! Very relaxing private location. Lots of room for kids to roam; the hammock with the beautiful view of the mountain outside was A+. My only complaint was the freezer dying on us but overal a nice experience l.

Rustern house was perfect!
This rustic-modern (rustern) home was perfect for our stay. It is exactly as described. The property is picturesque. The beds are comfy, the view beautiful, proximity to freeway makes it convenient. A short hike up the hill behind the home offers spectacular views of the Conejo Valley, especially beautiful at sunset. There is plenty of room to spread out! The home is decorated in a fun way. The outdoor space with the fire pit and relaxed seating is amazingly enjoyable. I would highly recommend.

Nice kitchen. Two suggestions Better chairs for comfort in the living room. King size mattress in master bedroom is extremely soft if you like that kind of bed...for us old folks we ended up with back aches.

We loved the property including the quiet neighborhood. It was a clean, super nice property. We would have been ok with some basic cable channels but we used Chromecast to watch Netflix and Amazon and that was good. Easy checkin and checkout and definitely well stocked for our use. Thank you!

True retreat
I was joined by a few colleagues for a planning retreat for our non-profit and came away feeling both productive and relaxed. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the space — the comfortable bedrooms, the nice kitchen, the cozy indoor/outdoor living space, and the large work table. We had two small mixups relative to the listing/checkin instructions. 1- when checking in at night, it’s very dark and it’s unclear where to park. Tip: it’s a SHARED driveway off the culdesac and you park really close to the house on the right (no potted plants as referenced). 2 - the listing photos showed (at the time I booked) a room with two twins, which had since been switched to a queen bed. Daniel was very quick in responding to my questions.
