Cozy place
The house is cozy, Parking is just an issue. The road noise is not that noticeable if your a heavy sleeper lol. It did bring up city living memories.

Located on Major Thoroughfare
The vehicle noise from the major thoroughfare heard from 2 of 3 bedrooms will prevent us from a future booking, but what I enjoyed was the prompt responses received from the host leading up to our stay, flexibility with check-in, the spaciousness of the house, the central location of the property, and the comfortable bedding. Cons... -The front of the house is on a MAJOR thoroughfare. The very loud traffic noise made it extremely difficult for my husband and me to fall asleep and sleep through each of the 3 nights. My parents had the other front bedroom and also commented about how loud the traffic noise was. -There was not enough cookware and bakeware for our party of 8. We had to remove and clean the utensils from the dining table for use as there were not enough left over in the drawer to accommodate our party of 8. - The shower in the master bathroom is a tight fit, especially with the existing configuration of the showerhead. -While the yard was nice, the sofa was a little dirty and faded. -There are no blinds or drapery on the double doors leading to the backyard for privacy.

We have recently added blinds to the double doors in the living room due to your suggestion. We have also made sure that our kitchen is fully stocked and equipped to service up to 13 guests. I love to give great reviews, but can’t find the words for that on this one. Let me start by saying this was a good location to attend an event at UCLA and it seemed to be a nice enough neighborhood. The house has a large back yard for California standards. Those are the pluses. I didn’t receive check in info until I requested it 30 min prior to check in. I understood this house to be on a quiet neighborhood street. Wrong. The front of the house is along an extremely busy multi-lane street with traffic all through the night. Two of the three bedrooms are in the front of the home and the noise from the street was very loud, even with earplugs. The listing said plenty of parking but it was not obvious when we arrived where we should actually park. The safest place was about 3 houses away and around the corner off of the busy street. There are two bathrooms but one shower did not have hot water, so it was not useable, and it had a steady drip that could also be heard in the bedroom. The other shower was a tub combo. The tub was slick and there was no bath mat or grab bar which was dangerous for our parents in their 70s. Floor rugs had corners curling up which was another hazard. Mostly the house was clean, but the back patio door windows were dirty and one bed had blood or fluid stains on the white bed cover. The kitchen had most of the basics but did not have mixing bowls or any bowls other than cereal bowls. No measuring spoons or cups that I could find. No rubber spatulas. A few more issues..….squeaky doors, no Kleenex boxes, flimsy thin towels.

Although we can not move the location of the house, the things that we can change as in cleanliness, bedding, and kitchen items, were able to be taken care of. I have stayed in easily a dozen vacation rentals over the last several years both for business and personal trips and I rarely complain or ask for much but in this situation I was in LA for my brother’s brain surgery at UCLA and needed a clean, quiet, and restful place for our family during his procedure and recovery. This was few of those things. First, our arrival information was 45 minutes late. While we sat in the driveway calling, texting and messaging asking for the door code. When it was finally received there was no apology or explanation. Only after a message stating we were calling VRBO customer service did we get a text back. The street noise in the bedrooms was really bad, I realize the noise and street lights aren’t the fault of the host but some inexpensive blackout drapes in the bedrooms would go a long way to blocking the street lights and traffic sounds. While the home was very clean, I think it was more due to the recent renovations. It doesn’t seem that anyone has actually lived in this home since the remodel. Every single door squeaked to the point where I purchased WD40 to remedy the issue. The kitchen is one of the worst appointed vacation rentals I’ve ever been in. I am aware most people don’t cook in these properties, but it was important for us to have family meals with our niece and nephew while their father was recovering and their mother was at his side. I could go on about many other things but have hit the word limit.

We have recently added blackout drapes due to your suggestion. Although we do not provide meals we did make sure that our kitchen is fully stocked and equipped to prepare any meal of your choosing. We have and had automated emails/texts that give check-in information for a keyless entry the morning of guest check-in. Great spot to tour west LA, Santa Monica, and Venice Beach!
We so enjoyed our stay at this great property in west LA! The property was perfect for 2 adult couples. The beds super comfy, nicely appointed living and dining rooms, great backyard, and easy parking! We'll definitely be back !
