"We absolutely loved our stay at Big Bear Lodge. The sweetest couple own it and they were so accommodating. The room was thoughtfully planned out and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. The grounds were nicely kept. And one of the owners does the artwork for the rooms and outside. She is quite good. The location is perfect, right across the street from Thunder Bay. There are restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely stay there again when we are in Alpena. "

"Location is great and quiet. Exterior and interior of cabin needs cleaning. Cobwebs,dead flies,dust needs attention. It needs a deep clean really and that would help immensely. AC worked great, the kayaks need a place to store rather than all leaning on our cabin. 50/50 on us coming back."

"Breakfast Sunday AM was lacking GRAVY, Biscuits were cold rocks. Oatmeal could stand up and walk away, so thick. Eggs were a warm delight. Sausage was tasty but not worth mouthful of grease, ugh. Room cheerful, clean, with an easy operating thermostat. Soaps, shampoo, etc., easily reached. TV very simple to operate."

"The cabin and owner were both amazing. It was so clean and the size was perfect. All the amenities of home, and sits on a beautiful, wooded lot. Loved watching nature right in front of us. It was easy acces to stores, gas stations and restaurant and sight seeing. We will definitely be back."

"4 ladies spent a great week at cabin 2. This cabin is near the water, which was beautiful, crystal clear and clean. The bottom was sand and not mucky. They had a floating dock we were able to use which we did spending the whole day on it. The cabin was clean and comfortable. John the host was outstanding and helpful. I highly recommend this place."
