Fantastic Views
We really enjoyed our stay here. The views are unparalleled, and the house was exactly as described. We would stay here again. However, I would recommend that the owners upgrade their linens - the sheets on the King beds were too small, and there were no extra blankets for chilly nights. Our minivan made it up the hill, but we didn't realize that the unpaved road was about 2 miles long, so be warned. Definitely worth it for the views and solitude though!

Girls adventure weekend
We had a fantastic 5 days exploring and hiking the Shenandoah National Park and George Washington Forest. The house was very comfortable and such attention to detail!

Just what you need
Everything was absolutely perfect from arrival to departure. The house is roomy, the area is secluded and peaceful. And delivery services are available. Beautiful view.

Nice quick weekend getaway
Great views, close to two grocery stores, and lots of activities to do on the property. You'll definitely want a vehicle with 4-wheel drive to get up to the property - the gravel roadway is a bit tough without it.

Great stay, amazing views!
Property is located in an amazing location overlooking Luray. During our stay, we had a random issue with the microwave tripping a breaker, however, the property manager was incredibly friendly, quick to respond, and brought us a new microwave to use the following day. She also had someone come out and tidy up the hot tub for us. The outdoor activities (horse shoes and corn hole), and incredible view made us not want to leave the property during our stay!

Beautiful Getaway
The view is incredible. We stayed two nights here. Enjoying each other’s company, good food, the fire pit, and horseshoes. The driveway up is steep but manageable. Once you get to the house, it’s worth the drive.

Great house. Great views. Comfortable beds. Clean. Hard to drive to if you don’t have an SUV. Gravel roads about 15 mins to the house off the main roads. Scary to drive if you don’t have an SUV. Other than that, everything was perfect!!

Gorgeous location in the woods
This stay was beautiful and so lovely. The weather was not great but the location and home were so wonderful it didn’t even matter. I will say that while this place advertises as sleeping 14, two of the sleeping options were pullout couches that have seen better days. So I wouldn’t rely on them for the best nights sleep for adults. But the stay was totally worth it and I’d definitely go back!

Pictures do not do the view justice, it’s like being at the top of a ski slope. House itself is solid and has a great wrap around porch. Property Is on a hill so some of the areas hard to access. Great wrap around porch. We went in summer and slope to drive to property was quite steep. 100% need 4wd in winter.

Amazing Stay! This is a beautiful getaway that feels so remote, but isnt!
This was a great stay. It felt so clean and remote, but had amazing internet and connectivity. The air was so clean and the views were amazing. The place had so much light and views across the entire valley.

Cannot beat the view
This mountain house was the perfect weekend away, kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. It was super clean besides the ladybugs & stink bugs, but that’s understandable being in the woods, we just kept vacuuming them up. The road to the house was dicey in the snow, during winter don’t ignore that note in the listing about requiring a 4wd even if snow isn’t forecasted. The hot tub was great, and the views were just amazing. Excited to come back and see how pretty it is in summer & fall. Great place.

Great Secluded Resort Style Property
We loved our stay at Shenandoah Manor. The Shenandoah Rentals team were easy to reach and highly accomodating from frequent guest changes due to COVID, a last-minute request to bring a dog, and securing more firewood for us since we wanted to use more than the owner initially offered. They worked with us at every turn and ensured we had a wonderful stay. As for the property itself, The views were stunning as advertised, The beds(including the pull-outs) were very comfortable, and we easily cooked for 11 thanks to large appliances and double ovens. We loved the outdoor amenities, including the hot tub, fire pit, lawn, and horseshoes setup. One of the things we loved about the outdoor amenities was the beautiful views from every location. Our group's only areas of concern were the games in the basement. The pool table and cues were in rough shape. The cues were either missing tips altogether, or the tips were falling off. The table itself was crooked, which caused the balls to curve towards the table's edges on many shots. The foosball table worked just fine, but it screeched pretty loud when people played; nothing a little lubrication wouldn't fix. Overall, we loved our stay at Shenandoah Manor and would happily stay there or another Shenandoah Rentals property again in the future!

Had a blast!
We had a great time at this property! Favorite things about it: 1. The SPECTACULAR view from all 3 levels of the home 2. The room layout! It had 2 master bedrooms on the top floor with a balcony for each room! 1 bedroom on the main floor next to the kitchen with has a queen bed and a nice basement room with 2 bunk beds for the kiddos! Loved that the kids had their own floor and suite with their own bathroom, living room area with TV plus a pool table and foosball table! 3. Love that it’s less than a 2 hour drive from the DC metro area. Only negatives, but wasn’t too much of a big deal: 1. The pool table sticks were missing their ends 2. The hot tub is a bit on the small let side, so we had to take turns using it. It fits two adults comfortably, but it can fit up to 4 in there but wasn’t comfy. 3. There are only motion lights on the side of the house where the grill and hot tub were so not ideal for when it gets dark. Had to bring my flashlight out while cooking our dinner in the grill. Overall… Great place for some quality time with the family! Would definitely recommend!

Serene family retreat!
We had such an amazing time at Shenandoah Manor! Our family spent Thanksgiving here and it was just the perfect place for our large group. The scenery was breathtaking and the property had everything we needed to prepare for our holiday. Maybe a little more than we had bargained for, because we were greeted with pesky ladybug or stink bugs at the property that were all over the place. We eventually found the entry point of them in one of the guest rooms so we were able to close it off, which helped a little bit. The property had amenities that everyone in the family enjoyed, even the hot tub in November! Hiking trails were literally in the backyard and we were able to take a nice walk with the family, and ended the day around the firepit making s'mores! The game room was also a plus, although the pool table may need some updating because one of the panels were off and the pool sticks appeared to be worn out. That didn't deter us from enjoying everything else the house had to offer. Most importantly of all, our family enjoyed our time together and I would definitely want to come back!

Beautiful Getaway!
We took a four day extended weekend to this gorgeous property and it was exactly what we needed. The house is gorgeous, was the perfect size for the five of us. The views are simply incredible and the windy gravel road to get there is worth it (I promise!) The house is in great condition, the hot tub has amazing views and it was truly a beautiful time with family. Our only suggestion would be to update the cookware, as a lot of the handles are very loose on the pots and pans and we are a family that loves to cook!

Relaxing Getaway
Shenandoah Manor is ideal for families. The lower level accommodates young children and parents, there is a bedroom on the main level with easy access to everything without navigating stairs, and two spacious bedrooms on the upper level. The deck is perfect for relaxing while you take in the spectacular views. We had a wonderful stay. One disappointment was ants in the cupboards and on the counters. After notifying the manager and securing our food in the frig and airtight containers things improved.

Gorgeous views! Lots to do inside even on cool, rainy days with pool table and games. We enjoyed some catch and release fishing in the pond! Close to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park entrance. Fabulous stay and look forward to coming back aagain!

The views are amazing, the home was beautiful. Quiet and peaceful. The drive in was a steep long bumpy dirt road. The house was not cleaned properly. (hopefully not a normal thing)

Winter Getaway
The view from the property is amazing. The trees looking down the mountain are cleared on property thus offering picturesque outlook over surrounding area. Driving up could be done in a sedan, especially one with AWD, but much easier with an SUV. If it snows though and roads are uncleared SUV or sled is required to get down. Hot Tub is really nice with room for 4-5 max. It is in really good condition and stays nice and warm. House itself, while able to sleep 16 technically, I would not recommend for groups larger than 8-10. For example, the dining room table seats 8 max. Living room areas with sofas if you want to catch up and talk with friends has sofa seating for 5. We stayed with 4 adults and 4 kids and it felt just the right size for us, but no more. Cleanliness was 4 out of 5. Sure some Stinkbugs and Ladybugs present but didn’t bother us. Only issue we really found was the coffee pot was not cleaned (went to fill it with water to prep coffee and the water turned brown in the pot). Customer Service and timeliness of responses from Management was excellent. 5 out of 5 Suggestions for improvement: 1) provide some hangers in the house - there isn’t many places to hang stuff (e.g., coats) 2) pillows are very flat - had to stack 2 on top of each other write one folded in half to get basic neck support (or just bring your own I guess) 3) cover for provided firewood - it snowed overnight on the day we arrived and the next day when we went to make a fire the wood was largely wet making it a challenge to get a fire going. A simple cover or tarp would be an easy fix. We had a good time and enjoyed the getaway.

Gorgeous views, great house, but...
I have to say, the views are spectacular and the amenities in the house were perfect. Overall, my family and I did enjoy our stay. We took advantage of the outdoors- hot tube, playground, fire pit and pond but couldn't really navigate to the National Forest. It was very high up and rocky and we could not find a trail to the forest- perhaps we're amateurs... The house was fully stocked aside from some dull knives, we enjoyed many great meals there. Our children also enjoyed the ground floor activities and bunk beds. Now for the bad review- the house has a serious insect infestation. I don't know if they are ladybugs or baby stinkbugs but they were everywhere- on the walls, windows, doors, floors, sometimes on our belongings. I had to vacuum multiple times a day and it wasn't a moment where someone stepped on one. I hated that I had to "Clean" everyday when i just wanted to relax outside of my own home. The house manager was kind enough to offer to vacuum but even that wouldn't have helped the infestation. They are harmless insects until there are too many. This didn't ruin our vacation but unfortunately I don't know if I would want to recommend the house to any of my friends.

Hello James. Thank you for the 5 Star. I am sorry about the lady bugs inside the cabin. The owner does spray but we are not sure how they get in. The house manager does drain and clean the hot tub after each guest. We inform all guests, if they are not happy with the anything, we would love a chance to correct it so that you can enjoy your stay. This home is a gem in the woods. Can't Beat This View!
This was, by far, one of the best views we have had in the many houses we have rented with our friends in Virginia. Yes, the drive up the gravel road is a little bumpy, but it's worth it. The house is new and the kitchen is well-stocked. The bedrooms are great and spacious. The two masters on the top floor do share a bathroom. The double bunk is on the lowest level (and also has a full bath), so if you were planning on putting small kids in that room, keep that in mind. There is another small bedroom (queen) and master bath on the main level. The kitchen is a little small (nice, clean, and new, but small for a house for 10+ people) but the dining room table accommodated our crew of 6 adults and 3 kids. Our biggest complaint (if we had to list one) is that the refrigerator is also too small for this house. It's a very compact size (not standard size.) (Plan accordingly when packing your food and planning for meals!) They would benefit from adding another refrigerator on the lower level. Overall, great communication from the rental company (Shenandoah Rentals). Check in is at 3 pm and check out is 11, which is also nice --- you can enjoy a full afternoon on your first day and you don't have to depart too early on your last. The fire pit and playground are great additions. Plenty of wood on site as we'll. (There is a steep walk down to the fire pit / play ground.) All and all, this is a great home. The views are spectacular. You cannot beat that. Check out this home if you are looking for a weekend getaway in the Shenandoahs.

What a breathtaking location and beautiful property!!!
I booked this house as a surprise for my partners birthday. This was late September, so we didn't experience snow, but if booking in the winter, I cant imagine getting up to the house without all wheel drive. The path up to the house is a bumpy gravel road, which is not uncommon for mountain properties (nothing out of the ordinary) and the pathway up to the house is a paved driveway (which is great because that incline is STEEP). Nonetheless, by the time you park, the view you see is so incredibly beautiful, your brain quickly goes into relax mode. The house is immaculate, with comfortable accommodations and beautiful spacious rooms. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend to others considering.

Wonderful Birthday Weekend
This property was absolutely perfect. The view was stunning and the property had all the amenities you could think of. The one downside is that there were lady bugs and stink bugs finding their way into the house but you can’t really help that! From silverware to cleaning supplies and puzzles, we were not bored during my birthday weekend. I’ll definitely look to book this property again. Thanks for the great weekend!

Beautiful View, Wonderful Property with Great Ameneties
The Shenandoah Manor is situated close to the top of the mountain, providing a great view of the Shenandoah and the valley below. The home provides great activities for the family and allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. A Great Get Away! I highly recommend.
