"This is a beautiful historic property, and the staff is very welcoming and attentive to your needs. The atmosphere and charm of the place made for an excellent stay. I did notice one area where the stairs had a significant amount of duct tape that could use some attention. If I could offer one suggestion to the owners, it would be to update or remove the old, outdated, and somewhat dingy artificial flowers, as they take away from the beauty of the historic setting. Overall, this was an excellent stay, and I would highly recommend this lovely place to others."

Quiet and relaxing getaway by the lake

"Wow, what a fantastic place on Lake Ontario!! The lake is 40ft feet from the property. An absolutely stunning view of the lake. The house is clean and a great place for a vacation!!! Myself and my family came up and did some salmon fishing on the lake. This place is a great place to get away and enjoy the lake and some piece of quite!! Definitely a 10/10!! Sue and Tom at absolutely great hosts!! The area lost power from a storm and they made sure we were good to go with candles. (Power was back on within an hour) It's a great get-a-way. If you thinking about staying, don't hesitate!!!"

"This cottage was just the right size for us. The lakeview was beautiful. The sunsets were amazing! The septic system is shared with neighboring cottages from my understanding which noticeably effected the flushing of the toilet. Check in/out and communication with host was efficient and hassle free. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!!"

Hamptons North - Serene Cottage on beautiful Lake Ontario

"Our visit was a lot of fun. The cottage is nicely renovated and the owner was very responsive to my questions. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out or gather for meals and games at the table. The fire pit was the best part of the grounds as it's next to the lake. I gave the property a 4 for two reasons: there isn't A/C, and unfortunately coming off of a heatwave, the cottage was hot/humid the first night even with 6 fans going and windows open; secondly, I was attacked by baby flies upon arrival and they were everywhere, as were the gnats. Otherwise we had a great time and the Lyndonville fireworks were awesome! The town of Olcott is a short drive away and has lots of shops, a beach and huge park."

"This hotel services a small country village somewhat off the beaten path and as such does not have all the facilities of a major hotel. There are just a handful of guest rooms, all on a second floor walk up with no lobby. Check-in is done automatically/remotely. Still, it is a very serviceable and pleasant location to stay at when visiting the immediate area. The only request we would make would be to add a blow dryer to the bathroom amenities."
