Nice spa, terrible rooms. Cold and haven't been decorated in 50 years. Heating didn't work, noisy and drafty windows.

We stayed for 1 night while visiting friends in Lyon. We chose the hotel based on the fitness center only to find out that it was an additional 45 euros to use. That was ridiculous, and the room itself was a nice size but not worth what we paid.

Would stay again.
I stayed in an apartment style room, it was very clean and comfortable. My water was topped up each day, I enjoyed the breakfast, good choice but expensive if it's not included in your room rate. Would love to go back and try the spa! Friendly helpful staff.

On paper it looks nice, but when we got there, it turns out that even though you pay €150 you have to pay €20 for breakfast (that is indicated in the description), but also €40-45 for the pool and gym spa (that is NOT indicated in the description). If they write in the description that the breakfast is an additional fee of €20, they should write that the gym and pool are an additional €40, anything less is dishonest. Apart from that internet was the worst of any hotel I've been to, keeps disconnecting, they blocked access to speediest.net so we could not show them it's bad. Bottom line, don't go there if you'd like internet and budget €60 or €70 more if you want the basics a hotel shod offer. One more thing. The pillows are uncomfortable.

Spa should be discounted for staying guests
The only issue is exorbitant costbofb the spa. It is a lovely spa but itvis quite inappropriate that a staying guest has to pay OR is not offered a significant discount. Accepting the charge guests OUGHT to get usage check in to check out..not just per calendar day. My main interest was the pool. It rained

I never checked in to Metropole, because what they don’t tell you is the pool is 50 Euros a person, per day. The pool is literally the only reason I chose this hotel. So, I left and ate a hefty cancellation the first night stay, even though they are clearly falsely advertising. Don’t come to this hotel unless you want to pay a small fortune to swim.

wonderful hotel with incredible facilities
excellent hotel, excellent apartment with a lot of comforts. yet here is what could be improved: first of all, the shower curtain, really needs to be changed as it is rather brown in its lower part, which looks disgusting. and then, adding several hooks in the many areas of the apartment so that a family of 4 can hang their robes after the pool and all their towels. not a big deal, but it would clearly be more convenient. also, the pillows were too flat , not thebest quality for a good and comfortable sleep. that could be improved. thank you ! other than that this hotel really is amazing and the facilities are extraordinary. also, it would be great to add a table tennis table, indoor. and also a baby foot and a snooker table, as for the teenagers there is not much to do except the sports of course.

Hotel staff, rooms, facilities excellent, would be 5 stars in my eyes. They resolved issues quickly, very polite. Stayed for a week here. Hotel brasserie restaurant very poor food and staff very rude. Felt like another number and expensive. It was like two different places in quality and standards, particularly where the staff were concerned.

There is no public transportation on google maps! I recommend staying in the city center as this hotel is far from it. Had to call uber daily. We were frustrated not being able to use public transportation easily without the information on google maps. They really need to submit this info in order to make our stay in Lyon convenient! This hotel does not cater to vegans. No daily free options in the rooms for coffee nor in the cafe! The pool was awesome, staff was awesome. Good friendly service, great view from room. Food was blah for vegans. Electricity went out for a couple of hours but it was taken care of.

The residence rooms were unique - I did not like the fact that if you checked out of your room and had a late departure you could not use the pool facilities unless you paid Euro 25 for the day!

Overpriced and ridiculously self-important
This is an OK hotel which I think was quite overpriced even with the discount, pool pass and breakfast included (about 175 euro including city tax). Terrible location out in the suburbs. The room is nothing exciting: typical business hotel room in reasonable repair but with annoying quirks like a seperate WC which doesn't have it's own wash basin and a shower which unfailingly floods the bathroom. The pool/spa is OK but it is open to the public and the pool gets very crowded on a hot day as well as closing at 7pm which is crazy on a midsummer's evening when it doesn't get dark till 11. Breakfast was serviceable but nowhere near as good as the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had. Staff and guests seemed to think they were members of the French aristocracy, playing Hyacinth Bucket because they were in "Lyon's best hotel" which was funny and irritating at the same time. Staff were officious and not accommodating as should be the case in a supposedly 4-star hotel. Definitely our least favourite hotel on this trip.

Stopover on the way home from Nice
Lovely hotel. Slightly out of town but bus stop right outside hotel. Easy to get in and out of Lyon. What an amazing city Lyon is. Well worth a visit. Lots to see and do. 100s of restaurants. Go and see the Basillica on the hill and do the open top bus tour. Hotel has the biggest swimming pool I’ve ever seen. Good spa facilities. Very welcoming. Friendly staff. Breakfast included was good plenty of choice. Would stay again
