"The hotel seems to have had a recent make over and a re-brand. The room was immaculately clean and the bathroom looked new and was also very good. My only criticism is the lack of amenities; if you want a kettle or iron you need to go to a store cupboard on the ground floor to get it yourself and there is no fridge in the room. Apart from that my partner and I enjoyed the quiet and were very pleased with the room quality"

"I was at Haven, formerly Hotel Schmidt-Monique in Bochum for 8-days. I arrived 25-minutes before the “official” check-in time and was told I could check-in early for €20. "My wife and I stayed in Haus am Stadttor for two nights in August 2025. We absolutely loved the place. It is perfectly located and very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need for a short or long-term stay. We slept like babies in the comfortable bed and enjoyed the quiet, though the house is located a very short walk to the altstadt. Mathias was also very friendly, welcoming, kind, helpful and flexible. He let us check in early and allowed us a late check-out. All-in-all, a great stay!"

Es war an alles gedacht – sogar eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit und etwas Verpflegung erwarteten uns. Die Gastgeber waren herzlich, hilfsbereit und antworteten stets schnell und unkompliziert.
