"This Cape Breton "cottage" has everything you could hope for. Quiet, daily sightings of deer and red fox and eagles and other birds. The "magical" nature walk to Lake Bras d'Or added joy and whimsy and time for reflection. The water is crystal clear, and the air is so clean and fresh. The "little house" is homey, very clean, and has everything you need to cooks some meals, and enjoy a mug of coffee or tea. I brought oatcakes, but Cape Breton has no shortage of excellent bakeries (Aucoins and Cedar House are top of the list!). We did not even reach the Causeway til my husband and I wanted to U-turn and stay longer. We will recommend to friends we know who will visit Cape Breton, and we hope to be back someday too. Thank you Sandy and John for everything!"

"Great location. Easy and quick to get to downtown Baddeck. Rooms were clean and nice. Beds were comfortable. TV was a Smart TV so we could stream. Complimentary breakfast was very nice. Staff was very helpful. Wifi was not working 100%. Kept going in and out."

"The Distillery itself and the main building are beautiful. We stayed in a cabin and it was pretty run down and need of some TLC. The doors didn’t close well, the beds were old and rickety and overall the cabin needs some attention. The grounds are stunning and the restaurant was good. The service in restaurant and check in was great."

"The property was lovely. There were a few too many spider webs and spiders inside for my liking and the bed was too mushy, but the kitchen was great and well stocked. I also appreciated that they had used unscented laundry detergent and had it available for guests to use as well. There was a smell of paint, as well as painter's tape around a closet, but the smell dissipated quickly after we opened the windows. Lovely views over Lake Ainslie. Overall, a good stay."
