The first time I visited the village of Machuca was in 2006. At that time it had only 6 inhabitants. The colors in the surroundings are predominantly different shades of brown and of course the deepest blue of the clearest sky I've ever seen. In this scenario, in the middle of the Atacama Desert, a testimony of the faith of this people emerges: the rough white church with thatch roof of Machuca.
