This historic building was originally one of the city’s horse stables and has recently been converted into apartments. The new furnishings, bathrooms and kitchen will be appreciated yet the historic charm is blended within.

This historic building originally was one of the city’s stables in circa 1886. It’s now a blend of barnwood contemporary and vintage charm with so many amenities!

It is the perfect place to stay. Located just between the river and the main street. The hosts were so gracious. They are truly a gift to Madison, IN We knew right away that if we needed anything, they would be there for us.

Best Short-Term Rental We Have Been To

Great property, great location, and amazing hosts. Incredible attention to detail and service. It would take too long to describe everything that impressed us so I'll just say it's all perfect and if this place is available when you're visiting Madison, stop searching and just book it.

Perfect location with a fantastic host! I stay at this location every time I visit Madison. It’s close to everything historic Madison has to offer. If coming to town I cannot recommend this place enough. Book it, you will not be disappointed.

All was lovely. Location perfect for a stroll on the riverfront and for walking to dinner. Loved listening to the church bells. Communication was great and the apartment was perfect. Warm blueberry muffins were so delicious.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! Check-in was super easy and stress-free, and the place itself was beautiful—clean, comfortable, and exactly as described (if not better!). Every little detail was thoughtfully taken care of, which made it feel like a true home away from home. Suzie was an amazing host—warm, welcoming, and always quick to respond. Madison getaway

Sisters and I made a quick trip to Madison and lucked into getting the best spot. Stablemasters quarters was a wonderful place to stay and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Such an amazing piece of history!

This stay surpassed all expectations we had. The hosts were phenomenal and really made us feel loved and appreciated. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed (and more)! We are already planning our next trip back!

We had a GREAT stay. Suzie and Ron are wonderful hosts, from the beginning to the end of our stay.We were able to check in early, when we walked in, my favorite artist was playing and a dish of warm delicious cookies were on the stove waiting for us. On our last night we got a text asking us what time we wanted the home made blueberry muffins Ron was making delivered in the morning. So many nice surprises, too many to list. Highly recommend Stablemaster's Quarters, you can't go wrong.

Hanover College

Came for graduation from Hanover College. Instead of normal hotel, decided we needed more space for the weekend. Suzie had the rental in great shape with lots of conveniences of home (and more) there and ready for us. Location was great to walk around Madison and the riverfront. Great time and place.

Our favorite host

This is the second time staying at this unit. Next weekend, we are going down and staying in the upstairs loft. Looking forward. Always a great time staying with Suzie. Highly recommend.

On our 1st night there, my husband slipped and fell on a step directly outside the bedroom door. Spent 5 hours in er. 8 stitches, facial fractures and fractured pelvis. Needless to say our trip was pretty bad after that. Down lightning or motion lights would helped at that step. Otherwise it may have been a great stay.

The Stable Master’s Quarters

This place is awesome! It’s the best place to stay in Madison, IN. Well decorated and has everything you need. The host Suzie goes over and above to make sure your stay is memorable. Great location in town. We already have future dates reserved and will add more in 2025.

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay at Stablemaster's Quarters! Ron and Suzie went above and beyond to make our stay incredible! When we walked in there were delicious cookies waiting and some of our favorite music playing! There space is just beautiful, so cozy and comfortable! They had great suggestions for local dining and activities in their beautiful city. We were on one block from Main Street with numerous shoppes and restaurants.to enjoy! Looking forward to our next stay with them!

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

This property has everything we wanted and more! On top of the cleanliness, central location, ease of checkout, fair price, and beautiful details, the stable house was so incredibly inviting and cozy! On top of that, the hosts provided the utmost hospitality including fresh baked goods and some pantry and toiletry items available for use. Come for a great weekend away! You won’t be disappointed!
