Oscars Retreat 1 by Tiny Away sits in the small rural locality of Phoenix Park, just 45 minutes from Newcastle, NSW. Phoenix Park, near Maitland and located approximately 14 minutes away, is known for its scenic river-flat landscapes and tranquil rural lifestyle, offering a peaceful semi-rural setting close to the Hunter and Paterson Rivers.
Enjoy minimalist living in our unique holiday homes, with the tiny house nestled on flat, grassy riverbanks overlooking the Hunter River. This 139-square-foot tiny home features a queen-sized bed for two adults, easy access to water, split-system air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and a bathroom. Amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and its surroundings, which are safe with CCTV around the buildings, but there is no access to the sheds or pool.

Oscars Retreat 1 by Tiny Away is located in Phoenix Park, just 45 minutes from Newcastle, NSW. The closest town is Morpeth, only 3 minutes away, and is popular for parks such as Queen’s Wharf Park and Ray Lawler Reserve, as well as suburban café like Common Grounds Morpeth and restaurants including Boydell’s—adding to the appeal of this peaceful holiday homes destination.
What's more our tiny house is just 13 minutes past Largs and Bolwarra to reach the city of Maitland. For further exploration, guests can enjoy sightseeing in the Hunter Region, with Hunter Valley wine tasting tours located approximately 27 minutes away near the small town of Kurri Kurri.
Getting Around:
By car:

- 45 mins drive to and from Newcastle . All depending on traffic.

Other Things to Note:
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Electric BBQ grill is available.
- We have a “free stack of wood" provided in a central area.
- Please note that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone; while others are weak
- Pets are allowed with 24 hours’ prior notice, must be on a leash at all times, may access the entire riverbank, are not permitted in any fenced areas, and the full policy will be sent before arrival.

- No smoking inside the tiny home, except outdoors. Please dispose of them properly
- Please note that the use of e-bikes and motorbikes must be supervised by an adult.

- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests.
