Our second stay at Finca Santa Matilde
This wonderful property is in a lovely location in the countryside and yet within easy reach of Malaga . There are several restaurants and supermarkets within easy reach. The property gets the sun for most of the day and has lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The hosts Ramon, Juan ,Loles and Matilde are the most helpful and friendly people we have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble. It was our second visit this year and we plan to return, hopefully, in the future. We feel they have become our Malaga friends.

What a hidden gem this property is. Owners brother manages it , he speaks Spanish but can speak and understand English using the translator app. These people will treat you like your family. Giving you recommendations to go visit, to go eat . The property is on Mango/Avocado farm, the owner gave us some mangoes as well, they were delicious . The property also had some Pear, Pomegranate trees, the pool was really nice. The seating area around was really nice. If you have a car it is not far from the city or the beach. Easy drive to Granada, Sevilla from here. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for us!
We wanted to travel around Malaga and surrounding area but did not want a city break. Finca Matilde was near to the city but in a tranquil and beautiful area only 8km from the centre. The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. I would not hesitate to recommend as a great place to stay but you do need a car.

This is a great getaway right outside of Malaga. The owner was very friendly and helpful. If you want a nice pool, a large space and somewhere more quite, this is a great choice.

Outstanding Location and Hosts
The property has gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains while still being close to the city. The host explained prior to booking that there was an access road to navigate that puts the property off the beaten path, however, the dirt access road is full of potholes and large bumps. While I got used to it, I don’t think I would have chosen the property if I knew just how this would be. The shower water pressure and hot water were a bit problematic but this is an old house. The host was very generous to replace the mattress for us because we felt that the one that was there was too soft. Overall very nice home.

Lovely location
Host was very attentive and helpful. Beautiful setting with amazing views. Even though it rained for the first 2 days we achieved everything we wanted to. Malaga is a lovely vibrant city with plenty of good restaurants and a pleasant marina.

Beautiful property
We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the property. After busy days in Malaga or on day trips, we loved coming back to this property for a quiet, peaceful evening. The property is very close to a bus route to town although we had a rental car which made getting to and from the property easier. If I could rank higher than 5/5 I would do so. Hosts were very nice and helpful with their recommendations for restaurants, etc. I would definitely want to stay here again if I am ever back in Malaga.

Nestled in the hills East of Málaga, it's quiet, the master bed is very comfortable, the kitchen is fully equiped, plenty of hot water, excellent WiFi and fantastic hosts. Beautiful views add to the experience. We noticed that it is completely safe for children of any age. There's even a play pen, a highchair and some toys. It's a charming place in every way. Thank you, Matilde and Juan Luis, for everything!

An oasis in Malaga!
I was here for a little over a week attending school in Malaga. Although Malaga itself was a very busy, congested town, this little place was perfect. It was on the other side of the mountains, just a short 8 minute drive to Malaga's paseo maritimo and to my school. At night, it was nice an quiet, much cooler than the city and a great place to relax. The house at great AC, nice kitchen with all you need to cook, lovely shaded tables outside, a washer, and the pool was a real nice touch too. I liked being able to find parking at Las Acacias parking, eat dinner down by the beach, and then drive back home quickly. The Homeowners recommend Salvador bakery and it was yummy! A must try! Frigiliana is only like 45 minutes from here, Ronda like 1.5 hours and Sevilla like 3. A great Central location. ¡Gracias familia Grana!!

The images we viewed when booking the property where exactly how the property was when we arrived.
The owners who live in the family home did not impact on our stay even though our villa was attached to the family home. The private balcony was lovely and so spacious and overlooked the shared tennis court. The swimming pool was right beside the tennis court. The area was very quiet and not overlooked. it was a relaxing place to stay. The house when we arrived was very clean and we had all the utensils we needed in the kitchen. The air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living was lovely as it kept us cool at night we we were sleeping. The wifi was great and we are able to run all our devices on it, specially for the kids. The satelite tv was mostly German and spainish channels but with wifi and our google chromecast it was fine. The owners were very helpful. They met us at the local aldi when we arrived in Malaga and we followed them to the property. Aldi was 5 minutes from the house. They had a map of the local area and plenty of tourist leaflets to help with the stay. The seafront was no more than a 10 minute drive from the villa. One of the owner Maria Delores was very helpful and spoke good english so we able to have some conversations. She recommended some local restaurants. Even letting us use the house for a little longer the day we were leaving as our flight was late in the evening. Lovely place, lovely owners and highly recommend it. They also have 2 other villas on the property which would be good for a larger family group who also want their own space. Three properties share both the tennis court and pool. There are 2 pools, a small paddling pool for kids but larger pool is deep so not suitable for kids who cant thread water and are not comfortable swimmers. Great Holiday, Thank you!

We loved this holiday
The house is so much lovelier than the small frame of the photos can show. Surrounded by nature and the view of Monte San Anton is beautiful, the stay was so perfect for us all, a family with two children 9 and 12. The orange and jasmine blossom, the avocado, almond and mango trees, the river at the bottom of the track, the wildlife, the sheltered pool, tennis court and massive terrace - I can't believe it was real! We could have asked for anything but we so well set up by the family owners we settled in straight away. Thank you so much Jaun Carlos, Matilde and Maria. Tips - Taxi drivers will not use the off road track to the house. Download the EMT bus app for live number 34 times (25mins to the centre of Malaga). Try some sweet Malaga wine. Find the fast and cheap beach restaurants for seafood (the beach restaurant near the Automobile Museum was amazing).

We were a party of six on a road trip on the Spanish East Coast from 24/Dec/17 - 05/Jan/18. The Andalucia region was the second leg of our trip. We stayed at Matilde`s and Juan Carlos` beautiful house in Malaga for three nights. The house is set on an estate in the midst of an orchard full of Mango, Avocado and Orange trees. The owners are really nice, very friendly and ever helpful people. One day, we had a power trip at around 11:00 PM when we got home. We called up Juan and it was fixed in the next 10 minutes. On the flip side, I can think of two disadvantages: One, we found one bathroom inadequate for a party of six. Two, the house is located at the end of a 400 Meter uphill, narrow, unmetalled road. One day, we needed to take a taxi to the house. For which, we ended up being profusely cursed by the taxi driver. Overall, a very good experience. I would absolutely go back there. I would highly recommend the house to anyone wanting to live amidst rustic nature.

An absolutely lovely place to stay
My wife and I stayed for two weeks and had a lovely time. The accommodation was great and had everything we needed. The farm is positioned some way from the road and so is really nice and peaceful. The hosts were lovely and made us very welcome. Although positioned close to a bus route (which is excellent for trips into Malagasy and elsewhere) we found that having a car was essential. A super ace we would recommend. Thank you Matilda and Juan Carlos.

An oasis of tranqulity and beauty a short drive from the centre
We had a wonderful 12 day stay at the 'New House' in Finca Matilde in June. The villa is very well appointed with all facilities and is cool inside even in hot weather. There is air conditioning but we did not have to use it. The villa is in an ideal location for touring (as we did to Granada, Cordoba, Mijas, Ronda, etc) and also is an oasis of tranquility and beauty in a secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle of Malaga city. After retuning form touring, or on 'days off', we could have a dip in the pool and sit on the terrace and look at the views over the countryside and mountains until late in the evening. At the same time the villa is within 10 minutes driving distance of the seaside or 20 minutes to the city centre. There is also a bus (number 34), which we also used, which goes to the city centre. Finally, the owners, Matilde and her brother, Juan Carlos, were absolutely charming and attentious, making our stay all the more enjoyable. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa.

Great place in malaga. 10 min away from the coast and still very quiet with beautiful surroundings. The place had everything we needed with an outdoor place to have break fast and dinner. Very comprehensive kitchen Only small negative is that the furniture inside is very old fashion. It has its own charm but better be aware.

We had a wonderful time
Everything went smoothly, the communication with the owner was very polite and attentive. The pictures represent the appartment very well and the house was very clean and well equipped. The children loved the small tenis court, although not original size we had a wonderful time on it. We imagine in spring and summer enjoying the pool, the mango trees and flowers of the garden must be even more beautiful. The location was perfect for us: by car not far from the city center and beaches, still in a calm area sorounded by the mountains. We will definitely like to come back!

Die Anfahrt den Berg hoch zur Finca ist holprig und etwas abenteuerlich. Die Finca selbst bietet für 2 - 4 Personen ausreichend Platz, evtl. kann eine 5. Person auf einem von 2 kleinen Sofas schlafen. Die inneren Türen sind verzogen und schleifen teils auf dem Boden, lassen sich also schwer öffnen/schließen. Wer sich von Hundegebell und Schreien von Gockeln/Hähnen in der näheren Nachbarschaft nicht stören lässt, der kann ansonsten die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit auf dem kleinen Berg und die Aussicht absolut genießen. Der Wind weht in der Höhe natürlich kräftiger als unten in Malaga. Die großzügige Terrasse ist ein Traum.

Thank you for your comments. The ad warns that the access road to the house is 300 meters long, it is uphill/downhill and unpaved, since we are on an agricultural state, it is not a hotel. For this reason we recommend renting a vehicle. When a client comes, I always ask them to let me know as soon as possible if they have any doubt, questions or something is not working well so that I can fix it quickly. If you don't ask me, I can't clear you up. The fifth bed is under one of the single beds in the non-double bedroom. It is the same bed that you see in the photos and that you have seen in the house, but it has folded legs and is stored under one of the beds. It is a modern solution although more expensive. We never propose to sleep on a sofa. I don't understand what you mean by saying that the interior doors are locked (all?) I can understand one of them coming off its hinges a bit. If you would have told me during your stay, this would have been fixed. When you left the house, they all closed normally, but I didn't lean on them either. It is typical of the countryside that there are some animals in the surroundings and that they make noise. I am sorry that the noises of the animals around you have disturbed you. You arrived in Malaga with a great cyclone of strong winds in Western Europe. It's not common here, but sometimes it happens. Logically, in the center of the city, surrounded by tall buildings and noise from vehicles, the wind is less noticeable than in the countryside. Finally, we are very happy that you enjoyed the large terrace with views. All the best.

Mi pareja y yo hemos pasado una semana en la finca. Nos gustaría destacar, sobre todo, lo limpia que estaba la casa a nuestra llegada y la amable bienvenida que nos brindaron Juan Carlos y Matilde. La finca está genial, enclavada en medio del monte, y los dueños están disponibles y atentos en todo momento. La cercanía de la playa es otra ventaja, pudiendo hacer planes de playa y montaña sin hacer largos desplazamientos. Repetiríamos sin dudar.

Toller Urlaub
Wir haben hier letzte Woche einen tollen Urlaub erleben dürfen. Vorab, die Bilder und Angaben stimmen ! Die Wohnung ist gepflegt und sauber, WLAN tiptop (ggf. wichtig, wenn Teenager mit von der Partie sind....). Die Küche ist komplett eingerichtet. Auf der großen Terrasse (>100m2), die um diesen Gebäudeteil herumgeht, so dass es immer einen Teil mit direkter Sonne gibt, gibt es Sitz und Liegemöbel. Ein Teil ist auch überdacht. Diese grosse Terrasse ist nur für diese Wohnung (die andere Wohnung hat ebenfalls eine private Terrasse). Nach Palo der nächsten Stadt mit allen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und an den Strand sind es etwa 10 Minuten mit dem Auto, in die Innenstadt von Malaga etwa 15 Minuten. Da die Finca etwa außerhalb liegt wurden wir am Treffpunkt abgeholt und zur Finca gebracht, Service ! Matilde ist noch später extra mit uns zum Supermarkt gefahren, um uns den Weg zu zeigen. ...Extra eine WhattsApp Gruppe eröffnet, damit jemand aus der Familie jederzeit erreichbar ist. Das ist Gastfreundschaft ! Malaga hat viele reizvolle Orte, aber etwas weiter weg sind die Höhlen van Neja, ca. 45 min, die grössten, die ich je gesehen habe, mit Malereien aus der Steinzeit, Anteqera ist auch einen Ausflug wert oder Torcal eine bizarre Felsformation mit toller Aussicht in der Nähe von Anteqera. Wir werden nächstes Jahr wieder kommen.

Wunderbar und perfekt für uns
Die Wohnung sowie die Umgebung waren genau wie beschrieben und auf den zu Bildern zu sehen. Die Familie war bereits im Vorfeld und auch während des Aufenthaltes sehr freundlich und hat uns bei allen Fragen schnell geholfen. Wir hatten beispielsweise vor unserem Urlaub eine große Auswahl an Ausflugtipps erhalten. Die Finca der Familie mit der angrenzenden Wohnung steht auf einem riesigen Grundstück mit vielen Obstbäumen. Das gesamte Grundstück kann genutzt werden - ein Traum für Paare und Familien gleichermaßen! Die Wohnung ist auch für die Wintermonate wunderbar nutzbar, da die Heizung wirklich wärmt. Außerdem war alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig, was wir sehr schätzen. Wir können den Aufenthalt ohne Abstriche empfehlen!

Wunderschön.
Ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus mit herrlichem Garten und riesiger Terrasse mit hervorragendem Blick auf die naheliegenden Berge und Hügel mit Mango-, Avocado-Bäumen. Eine sehr ruhige Lage außerhalb von Malaga - obwohl Hähne im naheliegenden Tal sehr früh wach werden :). Gut geeignet für Familien mit Kindern. Sehr sauber bei Anreise. Voll ausgestattete Küche. Bequeme Betten. Klima-Anlagen in allen 3 Zimmern lassen das Haus sehr schnell abkühlen. Die Freizeitfläche auf dem Gelände mit großem Pool (kleiner Becken super für Kinder), zahlreichen Gartenmöbeln, Tennis-Spielfeld und kleinem Spielplatz lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. Nach 5 Minuten Autofahrt erreicht man schöne Sandstrände von Pedregalejo (man muss schon aber ein paar Runden in den umliegenden Gassen drehen, um eine Parkmöglichkeit zu finden), nach 5-10 weiteren Minuten ist man in Stadtzentrum von Malaga. Die Hausbesitzer sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und jederzeit ansprechbar. Sie waren immer für uns da. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Pour la deuxième fois nous sommes revenus chez Matilde et nous avons été de nouveau très bien accueillis par elle. Très réactive à nos demandes et toujours prête à rendre service pour que nos vacances se déroulent pour le mieux . Le logement est très propre et il ne manque rien. Je recommande cette adresse pour le calme, l'accueil, la gentillesse et le lieu qui est magnifique.

Very nice stay in Malaga!
We had a very good time in Malaga! The location of the house is perfect. Although close to Malaga (10 min) and close to the supermarket (5min) it's a very quiet place to stay. We have two little children (8 months and 2 years old). The oldest one liked playing in the tennis court. There is a enough equipment for the baby's (2 baby beds, 2 baby chairs, ...) what is very easy if you come by plane. We did various trips to Nerja, the biopark and see life, all on < 40 min driving. The guest family was very friendly and we could always ask for advice!!

Superbe séjour de vacances
C'est la deuxième fois que nous passons un mois dans cette location. Nous sommes toujours enchantés car c'est un endroit très paisible, reposant et magnifique à regarder. Les propriétaires sont des personnes charmantes, très discrètes mais aussi très soucieuses de votre bien-être. Merci pour la gentillesse de Juan Carlos et Matilde qui donne toujours de bons conseils. Nous reviendrons !

Casa estupenda con buena ubicación
Hemos estado en la feria de Málaga alojadas en esta casa, y deciros que contenta no, lo siguiente! Es una casa espectacular tal cual las fotos, cerca de todo, del centro, de la playa... Y lo mejor, la tranquilidad en la que se esta! estando tan cerca del centro y lo bien que sw esta, os la recomiendo, nosotras repetiremos. Daros las gracias Sra. Matilde y hermano, por ser tan buenos con nosotras. 😘😘😘

Très belle location
Excellent séjour parmi les manguiers, la maison est très propre et conforme aux photos. La terrasse est très agréable et la vue y est magnifique. Nous avons bien profité du tennis et de la piscine (à partager avec deux autres locations sur la propriété). Nos hôtes sont charmants et discrets. Bref, je recommande !!

Geweldige locatie qua uitzicht, rust, authentiek, super schoon en zeer centraal gelegen.
Wat een geweldige plek! We zijn er helemaal weg van. Dicht bij het centrum van Malaga maar ook van het strand en mooie wandelroutes. De eigenaren zijn zeer vriendelijk, gastvrij en familiair. Het huis biedt alles wat je nodig hebt. We komen zeer zeker nog eens terug .

We stayed for one week in the finca. It is a very nice location whithin a rural setting, but only 6 km from Malaga centre away. The owners are very friendly and take care of everything. The house is very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you Matilde & family! KM & family

Dichtbij Malaga en toch in de vrije natuur
Niet ver van de stad Malaga (maar zeker wel een auto nodig!) hebben wij drie dagen doorgebracht in dit vakantiehuis. Het huis is vastgebouwd aan dat van de eigenaar. Iets lager ligt nog een vakantiehuisje. Beide huizen kunnen gebruik maken van de tennisbaan (voor enkelspel) en van het mooie zwembad. Het huis ligt op een plantage van avocado's en mango's. Rondom kijk je omhoog tegen de lage bergen aan en omlaag richting een aantal huizen in een 'dal'. De weg naar het huis toe is behoorlijk smal en bochtig en op het laatst een soort karrenpad. Dat is wel even wennen. Rondom het huis vind je aan drie kanten een ruim en afgesloten terras. Voldoende plek voor kinderen om te spelen. Vlak ernaast de tennisbaan en daarnaast het zwembad. Het huis was bij aankomst heel schoon. Het tweepersoonsbed is prima en er is meer dan voldoende kastruimte. Ook de keuken is zeer ruim en uitgerust met alles wat nodig is. Vooral de ruime vrieskast is handig als je hier wat langer verblijft, want voor boodschappen moet je echt met de auto op pad. Dan is het lekker als je 's ochtends je broodje gewoon uit de vrieslade kunt halen. Het zou wel fijn zijn als er afvalzakken voor de verschillende pedaalemmers aanwezig zijn. Dat koop je namelijk niet zo snel als je ergens maar een paar dagen bent. Fijn dat er goede, maar ook gezellige verlichting in het huis is. De zitkamer vonden wij iets minder gezellig. Dat komt misschien doordat de ramen vrij klein zijn (wel handig als het in de zomer snikheet wordt) en wij wat bewolkt weer hadden tijdens ons verblijf. Wij zaten daarom voornamelijk aan de eettafel in de lichte keuken. Dat is een prima stekje, alleen vonden wij de stoelen iets minder lekker zitten (maar dat is vooral als je er wat langer op zit). De badkamer is klein en voldoet, maar is niet luxe (douchen in het bad met een douchegordijntje). Voor ons was dit geen probleem, maar het is wel goed om te weten. Al te veel luxe zou in deze setting waarschijnlijk misplaatst zijn. Matilda (ontzettend vriendelijk) spreekt goed Engels en Frans, maar zij woont niet op het terrein. Haar broer Juan Carlos spreekt voornamelijk Spaans, en is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Met Google Translate kom je een heel eind als je geen Spaans spreekt. Kortom, als je een vakantie in de natuur wilt combineren met de nabijheid van een gezellige stad, dan zit je hier wel goed.

Fijn huis in prachtige omgeving
Het huis ligt op een prachtig terrein met mango-en avocadobomen, aan de rand van een nationaal park, vlakbij zee en Malaga. Huis is prima voor 4 personen, heeft een heerlijk groot terras. We hebben er een heerlijk verblijf gehad.

Réserver sans hésiter !!!
Je recommande sans hésitation cette location, maison très bien équipé avec de nombreux rangements, climatisation, très grande terrasse qui fait le tour de la maison et sécurisé pour les enfants offrant de magnifique vue sur les montagnes. On sortait de notre terrasse, 5 marches plus bas était le terrain de tennis et au bout du terrain la piscine très appréciable (petit bassin et grande piscine ronde) les enfants ont adorés (14, 11 et 6 ans) et nous aussi. Très grande propriété rempli d'arbres fruitiers, de palmiers, rosiers, fleurs etc..... l'accès à la maison est montagneux donc des montées et descentes raides même en voiture c'est impressionnant mais on s'y fait très vite. Mathilde et son frère Juan Carlos sont aux petits soins pour nous et merci à vous de rendre notre séjour si agréable.

EINSAMKEIT TRIFFT GROSSSTADTTRUBEL
Das trifft es genau. Beides kann man in dieser Ferienwohnung geniessen. Schon die Auffahrt ist spektakulär und für Sportwagen nicht empfehlenswert. Hat man erst das kleine Bachbett durchquert (meist nur wenig Wasser) und den Hügel (100 Höhenmeter) erreicht, steht man im parkähnlichen Vorgarten des Anwesens. Dort wird man von den Vermietern (die ebenfalls dort wohnen) begrüsst. Die Ferienwohung ist ein Seitentrakt des Haupthauses mit riesiger Terrasse. Die Beschreibung in der Anzeige trifft die Realität genau. Hervozuheben sind die 3 Klimaanlagen und für Selbstverpfleger die komplett ausgestatte Küche. Bei Problemen kümmern sich die Vermieter sofort, wer kein spanisch spricht braucht Mathilde. Sie spricht englisch und französisch. Der Pool ist grosszügig dimensioniert, Tenniplatz ist vorhanden, Grill steht auf der Terrassse. Was für uns den besonderen Charme ausmacht (waren zum 2.Mal dort) ist, dass man hier beides hat: einerseits Ruhe und ländl. Idylle (Pferde, Esel, Hühner, Hunde) sowie den tollen Ausblick auf die umliegende Landschaft, andererseits ist man in 10 min (mit dem Auto) im Trubel einer sympatischen Grossstadt (Leute, Geschäfte, Lokale, Kultur incl. Mojitos). Das Haus ist für alle (bis max 5 Personen) geeignet, aber ohne Auto nicht empfehlenswert. Wir fühlten uns dort "sauwohl" und es ist nicht ausgeschlossen, dass es ein drittes Mal gibt.

Sehr schönes Haus- alles nahezu perfekt
Die Finca Matilda ist ein sehr schönes Haus, die Photos entsprechen weitgehend der Realität. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist nicht üppig, aber durchaus ausreichend.Wichtig zu wissen, wenn man so leidenschaftlich kocht wie ich: es gibt einen kleinen, sehr schnell beheizbaren Backofen wo man zB Gebäck aufbacken kann, es gibt aber kein Backrohr! Die Terrasse ist schön groß, man findet den ganzen Tag ein schönes Plätzchen in der Sonne. Unbedingt hervor zu heben ist die ausgesprochene Hilfsbereitschaft der ganzen Familie! Einer der Brüder wohnt im Haus, welches unmittelbar an das Ferienhaus angrenzt, die Hausherrin selbst, sowie deren Schwester wohnen in der Nähe, aber nicht am selben Grundstück. Das Grundstück ist riesig, wunderschön bepflanzt, sehr gepflegt. Sehr wichtig erscheint mir zu erwähnen, dass man hier ein Auto benötigt, welches nicht zu tief sitzt. Die Straße zum Haus ist nicht befestigt und zum Teil recht steil. Wenn man, wie wir ein geländegängiges Mietauto hat, ist es kein Problem. Man fühlt sich absolut sicher.Das Grundstück ist am Ende einer Sackgasse. Die 4 darauf befindlichen Häuser ( 3 Ferienhäuser und eines der Eigentümer) sind nur durch ein stets abgeschlossenes Tor zu erreichen. Malaga ist in sehr kurzer Zeit erreichbar. In unmittelbarer Umgebung befinden sich zahlreiche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.Ausflüge in die historischen Städte Cordoba, Sevilla, Ronda und Granada lohnen sich ebenso wie Fahrten die Küste entlang. Die Freundlichkeit der Spanier und die absolute Unaufgeregtheit der Menschen hier runden einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt ab. Wir fahren heute wirklich schweren Herzens weg und freuen uns schon sehr auf unseren nächsten Urlaub hier.
