STORY OF INSECTS!! There were two parts the hotel. The nice side that you see in photos and the old run down side that you don't see in any of the ads. They first gave us the room in the crappy side. We had to take a slow lift that we wondered if it would break down, and walked though a old dark hall way. It looks worst than a cheap motel. They hung a flash light next to the bed as the bedside lamp. The wall was peeling and full of stains. There's no view at all. After we came back from dinner a couple hours later, there were a lot of small insects crawling around in the room. The insects were smaller than the size of sesame, and they were everywhere.. the bed, the counter... We packed up our stuff and called the concierge before more bugs get on our belongs. The attendant first assumed us having the window or doors open. We didn't for sure because there was no view and the room was facing a smelly back ally. We had no interest in touching anything to begin with. At the end, they moved us to another room. The dark old hallways suddenly turned bright like a normal hotel. This room looks like what you see on Expedia. They said they upgraded us, sounding like we didn't pay for this and we got lucky. I don't care whether we get upgrade, but the first room is definitely not what we booked based on the Expedia photos. We still see insects in the nicer room. Not sure if that came from the first room or elsewhere. In summary, that was a terrible and disappointing experience.

Rather surreal experience
We'd written a long review about our stay at Champa due to our rather surreal experience, but are restricted by number of characters so this is a short summary. Not sure how it has such reasonable reviews. Room was small with incredibly dated furniture, thin mattress, low quality pillows and sheets etc. The photographer responsible for the photos on the website did a far superior job to their interior decorator as we were expecting something far better. The dining room was closed "due to two functions" that we never saw anyone attending despite going through the lobby twice during the evening. We had a coke (no alcohol) at sunset on the roof terrace and were the only people there. The room service food we ordered (appetizers) didn't quite reach the appetizing part of the description. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and we received no information as to what was going on, after checking the corridor and stairway we phoned reception to be told it was a false alarm. There was no co-ordinated evacuation. If there were other guests resident, none of them left their rooms. Staff at check-in were nice, but that was the only good thing about our stay. We were recommended Champa by our atoll resort that we were transiting to next day on the basis that it was one of the best in Male, we're honestly not sure why they sent us there. Maybe we got the worst room in the place, and caught the staff on a busy, bad or off night. Hope you have a better experience.

According to the offer on hotels.com Airport transfer was included,we should attend to the international airport (we arrived at domestic) and find Counter 59 and they would take care. On arrival there was no service and after 10 minutes waiting somebody call the hotel and they explain that their car was broken and we should take the ferry and then a taxi to the hotel. I refuse and told them to send another car or order a taxi. After another 10 minutes a call the hotel myself and had the information this hotel didn't offer free Airport transfer...... I told them to solve the problem, but after further 10 minutes I call them back and had same message once again, then I went mad and ordered a taxi by myself. The hotel pay me on arrival this costs, but for me unacceptable that we should spent time on a matter like this. Next morning we arrange a taxi from the hotel to the airport for our own account..... so when your hotels offering this kind of service they should stick to it, the free transfer was themain reason why we choose this hotel

Pleasant Stay in a crowded City Atoll.
The hotel promptly responded to our booking, explaining where to meet the contact at the airport.We arrived late at night and all went to plan ... met and transferred to a 5 minute local ferry, and then met by car and transferred to the hotel. Delightful staff booked us I need and all we needed was sleep! As we were flying to another Atoll early the next morning they provided a more than adequate box of breakfast, without us asking for it. Again the airport transfer was provided.

Service to be improved.
The Good: - Located at center of Male. Convenient access to CBD. - The our all facility and cleanness is satisfactory. - Complimentary pickup from Airport is provided. - The dining area is clean and breakfast provided has varieties. The Bad: - The room is smelly. Need to open all windows to ventilate it. - The pick up form airport is disappointing. In the welcome email it gives you false impression that there is transport from airport to Hotel every 10 minutes. The reality is nobody was even manning the counter and we waited 1 hour plus...finally some one appeared after we call hotel.

3 star hotel in the center of Male
It's good for a night's stay. Convenient location & very polite staff, but staff hardly know or can recommend anything. Worst is the internet connection, very poor wifi, seriously needs upgrade. Room is ok, good for a night's stay, but not pretty or luxurious, not comparable to any other hotel of Crown & Champa Group.

Hotel location is situated centrally. It is not close to the pier. Do have access to shuttle van to take us to the pier. It is not walking distance.

Recommended for Short Stays
We stayed here because I made a mistake in my hotel and flight booking for a resort. Room was clean, they only give you one room card so you can't leave a card in the power slow while you are out. Energy efficient but it took a while for the room to cool down. Staff at reception and restaurant were friendly and helpful. One of the best BBQ dinners during buffet dinner service on the rooftop restaurant, I HIGHLY recommend visiting it (check the menu for what the buffet theme is for the day). The hotel was near everything so we were able to walk to most landmarks with ease. The one complaint I have about the hotel is the noise. The walls are thin and I can hear people coughing from down the hall, other people opening their door with the key (it makes a blip blip noise), and the chairs from the restaurant scraping. We stayed on the 8th floor and the restaurants are on the 9th and 10th floors. Overall, it was a fine stay with them for one night but I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a few days at a time.

We stayed for one night before transferring to a resort island. The staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast offered enough variety to satisfy. The room was a bit small but clean and suitable for our purpose.

Hotel experience in Male
It was a nice hotel experience in Male. The place is quite small so the area is maximized. The place is crowded with a lot of motocycles that's why it is also quite traffic.The hotel area is good,room is clean with a complete amenities.The service is also ok, althought we wait for a while before the transfer came.A little bit worried if someone will fetch us in the jetty station. I dont like the idea that they provide balcony for those who smoke.Most of the hotels now a days are a no smoking hotel.

Typical 3 stars hotel, the representative waiting for us at male airport was kindda lost and slow, and they drove me to the hotel in a taxi not their shuttle ( they mention that the shuttle service is 24 hrs)the hotel is decent and quiet, room was clean only acouple of ants in the room, braekfast was good

Nice comfortable transit hotel with friendly staff
The hotel is hard to find. We did not know the hotel has a booth at the airport (booth #59). So we took the ferry then a taxi. Otherwise I recommend you go to their booth to arrange transfer to the hotel. Room are basic but clean, updated and comfortable. They also provide complimentary water. Staffs were friendly and courteous. If you are transit overnight in male, this is a good choice.

It's in the middle of the city difficult to travel

Recommended by our resort (Kuredo) as an overnight transit hotel. Much less expensive option than staying at the airport hotel. Our late arrival was a bit confusing as the Champa driver did not show up at the ferry so after 20 minutes of waiting we just took a taxi. The driver tried to overcharge us but the Champa's excellent staff not only took care of the fare but we were not charged for it due to the confusion of the hotel transfer (someone else took our car). Hotel is clean, comfortable and centrally located. I would recommend staying an extra night there prior to your float plane to the resort to allow an opportunity to visit this cultural city. Nice rooftop buffet at a very reasonable price. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay even though it was very short.

Minha hospedagem no Champa central Hotel foi excelente, muito bem localizado , perto de todos pontos turísticos de Male. Nosso quarto de hotel também foi muito bom na ala nova do hotel. Café da manhã também muito variado. O manager do Hotel Summit fez tudo para tornar nossa estadia ótima. Nos ajudou na logística para reservar o resort Crossroads na ilhas Maldivas.Transfer gratuito do aeroporto para hotel e do hotel para aeroporto.

Internet was too slow to open my web mails in the early mornings. My booking of airport transfer was not properly done. Info on the cost of airport transfer varied dep on the receptionists. Room was old and the door is too thin to keep the noise & voices of people talking in the corridor.

Redelijk hotel maar te duur voor geboden kwaliteit
De kamers zijn realtief schoon, wanneer je de kleine beestjes niet meetelt. Verder is de kamer aan de kleine kant, de koelkast werkt niet goed en er waren/zijn veel bouwwerkzaamheden rondom het hotel waardoor er bijna dag en nacht bouwgeluiden te horen zijn. Het hotel is te duur voor de geboden kwaliteit. Het gratis ontbijt en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel is super!

島に渡る前泊ホテルとしては使い勝手が良いホテルです
一番安い部屋に泊まったので部屋はせまめで日本のビジネスホテルのようなものでした。 狭い通りにありますがこの島ではかなり上級のホテルだと思います。スーパーも歩いて2分くらいの所にあります。 スタッフは親切でスピードボートの乗り場まで送ってくれました。

O atendimento é super interessante! O hotel sem eu agendar já sabia que eu estava indo , então me levaram para o hotel! Achei super legal! Bom café da manhã! Atendimento agradável dos funcionarios!
