Beautiful break
Lovely oasis of calm- beach on the doorstep. Lovely reception and hotel area. We stayed in the apartments which are just down the street. Apartments are in good condition with great views. Breakfast was fabulous and restaurant overlooks pool and beach.

Last stop before an early flight the next morning. The apartment is a good size, but the A/C did not work very well and the pull out couch had the metal arm sticking so when you sat down you ran the risk of injury. When we went to open the door to the back patio, the door came off the hinges.

Thought we we try an apartment, the hotel had all the usual comforts gorgeous surroundings an excellent breakfast buffet and pool area, this did not disappoint. The staff at the hotel, nothing is to much trouble and work hard at looking after their guests. The area where the apartment is situated is on a small beach with a board walk and some restaurants which are all fabulous, loved tapas and fresh fish. So what’s not to like ? So if you want the finesse of a hotel, the apartment does not offer this, the apartment whilst it’s layout and facilities are all there, it was in need of a refresh a bit tired. Peeling paintwork, very old sink and fridge and the shower cubicle needs replacing. The view from our room, the sea and board walk. I felt disappointed at first, but soon got into my holiday and the apartment was maintained everyday with fresh towels and cleaned to a good standard. Overall had a great few days, it’s been a while since we travelled and my expectations where high, Son Caliu apartments do not match up to the hotel room standards, so if your ok with a few rough edges go for it !

Great find! Beautiful and peaceful.
What an amazing find! Beautiful place, fabulous friendly staff. It could not of been placed in a better position. Right on the private beach and having a pool. The accommodation was everything you could need. Comfy bed and sofa, little kitchen area. Tv in bedroom and lounge. Also a balcony with a grass area. The air con was easy to use. The rooms were cleaned every day. We will be returning!

Second time here, so that says a lot. It’s a laid back atmosphere which is both friendly and professional. The location with its own pool and beach is great. You also have the beach bars and restaurants within sight of both these amenities. Staff are friendly and polite. Will go back 5⭐️

The Son Caliu “apartments” which are part of the hotel but the other side we stopped in. A group of late 30’s guys. The apartments are practically on the beach / rocks and the beach was essentially a private beach. The staff were so friendly and even allowed us to keep an apartment from check out at noon until 18.00 in line with our flight... FOC Will be returning here with my wife for sure. Palma nova / Palma / Magaluf all just a hip in the taxi away.

Great location and fantastically clean
Stayed in the apartment area of the hotel. All 30 apartments had a sea view, ours being within 20 metres. The small beach was fantastic and extremely well kept with a couple of beach restaurants serving delicious food. The hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean with maid service daily and the buffet breakfast is the best, everything you could wish for is on offer. The hotel's location is ideal with the busier nightlife of Palma nova a 10 minute stroll to the west and the fabulous harbour and high end restaurants of portals nous about a 25 minute walk to the east. I'd definitely recommend the hotel and the location is superb. Hoping to return in September.

Only complaint is the fridge which was very smelly. Lucky I had some organic essential lavender oil with me and placed some drops in a glass of water and then put the glass in the fridge. But I had to clean the shelves inside fridge to removed old stains from either milk or yoghurt which I suspect gave the foul smell. Not what you want to do upon arrival in the evening, to have to clean someone else's dirt from the fridge.

Don't let the look disappoint!
The hotel is lovely.. the building for the apartments is about 200m away. The building is pretty ugly but the apartments are excellent.. Big longer with a functional kitchen. Bathroom was modern and very clean. Bed was massive and comfortable. The apartment is front line with a very pretty beach in a lovely little cove. There is a cool beach bar next door which is pretty but very expensive! I ate at the hotel and it was fine.. As a guest of the apartments I could use the spa, gym and pool. For the money an absolute bargain

A delightful hotel. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. This was a lovely time of year to go, before the summer season really gets going even if it did mean not everything was open

The Son Caliu resort is brilliant and the hotel's facilities are fantastic. We travelled with a 14 month old toddler and you can use the pool between 8am and 2pm which is useful, although afternoon would have been better for us personally. The apartment is a good size with a master bedroom, bathroom (shower only) and kitchen/dinner/living room. There is also a sofa bed so we slept in the lounge as our daughter is a noisy sleeper!! The only downside is that the kitchen is not amazingly well equipped and doesn't have a few useful things like a collinder, cheese grater, peeler, or scissors and you need to take your own cloths, soap, oil and salt/pepper for the kitchen/bathroom but it is otherwise fine for a short family break. We would definitely return again.

Special place for out of season break

Nice hotel with private sea and beach area.
We were in the apartments (almost) next to the hotel, which were nice and quite modern. Probably 200 yds to walk for fabulous breakfast or dinner in the restaurant. probably ten minute walk to get to PalmaNova beach and front etc, so slightly out of the way but very peacfull

Our room had mould growing in it, and so did several others! We were moved from it to find that the walls were washed off, repainted and someone new put in there within a few hours!!

Overall good apartment
The private beach with jetty for swimming in sea, pool and apartment was lovely and good value for money. There was only one toilet in pool area that flooded due to leak & did feel management didn't get this fixed as quickly as should have which was only main negative. Good location as fairly peaceful but only 15 minute walk from main restaurants in palma nova. The apartment was modern and refurbished but think few small snagging things which we mentioned as shower was leaking slightly into bedroom wall which didnt affect our stay but bit unsightly which needs fixing.

a balanced review?
As the hotel was fully booked, I deliberately booked to stay at the apartments, as I had stayed in the hotel previously and had a great experience. I chose half board as again, previously I thought the food was good. the service was great and the hotel has its own private beach. perfect so far. However, this time, the experience was different. The apartment - I knew what to expect, it was away from the hotel and I heard it was a little dated. but it was just ok. there is a bedroom - it has a tiny window, a living room, small kitchen and a balcony. The place was fairly clean, but I did find I was bitten by mosquitos in the apartment and discovered a cockroach in the bathroom. It rained during my stay and I got soaked getting to the hotel restaurant. There was no provision for apartment guests to get umbrellas from the hotel. I was told that I had to pay cash for anything, drinks, services (I couldn't put it on my room) which surprised me. Every night, I was seated in the restaurant and then I had to find a waiter to get me a drink with my evening meal. Breakfast was no better, I would simply find the waiters station and grab my own coffee. The food was not great, the choice was limited and it was difficult to make a meal out of what was provided. Foods were not all labelled so I had no idea what some of the food was. This is fine, unless you don't eat meat. I had a lovely holiday, but the hotel was a let down.

Great private beach, perfect for peace and quiet.
This property is split in two (the apartments and the hotel). We stayed in the apartments which are in the building next to the much more luxurious hotel. You can use all of the amenities of the hotel and there is a spa on site. The staff were all very helpful and friendly with the exception of the night porter who checked us in just before midnight. It seemed we were a hinderance and we were given no information about the restaurant, pool or spa. We were simply asked to hand over our passports and paid the city tax and then handed a key. We eventually found the apartments after exiting the hotel.

The service marker was stretched to the max
The amenities were lovely...the SPA and the grounds. What stands out for us was the quality of service from the staff. Mr Sanchez and his Team were professional and welcoming and stretched the service marker to the max to ensure our particular requests were met. This was our first visit and because of the amenities and quality of service we plan to return.

Enjoyed the time we spent here and used the hotel facilities swimming pool and steam room they were great and staff attention was good when approached. The one criticism would be the bar staff outside in the garden area they don't seem to do well on maths as I was short changed and overcharged three times and had to point this out but to be fair they did acknowledge the mistake and refunded me..I would return this hotel again and would recommend also to other people.

A pleasant surprise
I had booked a last minute packaged stay and did not expect too much. I then was pleasantly surprised by the room (fantastic view onto the sea), the overall appearance of the Hotel (previously paid a lot more for not closely as nice) and by the friendliness of the staff. (I stayed in the apartments though and only saw the reception and the facilities of the Hotel).
