Matamanoa Island Resort

10/10 Excellent

"This is a very quiet and peaceful property, a refreshing change from the larger, busier resorts. With no phones or televisions in the rooms, it truly feels like a tropical paradise where you can completely disconnect and relax. The beachfront rooms are spacious, comfortable, and offer beautiful views. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The beach is fantastic—clean, serene, and rarely crowded. Most of the time, it feels like you have the entire beach to yourself. The only area that could use some improvement is the food. While it is satisfactory, it doesn't quite match the high standard set by the accommodations, service, and overall atmosphere of the property. That said, the peaceful setting and outstanding hospitality make this a wonderful place to stay."

"Sadly this beautiful island and wonderful staff have become victims of hierarchy neglect! Where clearly any money does not go back into the property, which is a real shame as could be a magical place. Loved the turtle nursery, large rooms and views... but the lack of supplies, cost of essentials, run down facilities and bed bugs became the unfortunate memory makers in our group 😪"

"While we enjoyed aspects of our stay, we were disappointed with the housekeeping service. Our package included daily room cleaning, however during our 6-night stay the room was only serviced 2–3 times. We expected a much higher standard of housekeeping from a resort of this calibre, especially when it was included in the package we paid for. This inconsistency impacted our overall experience and is something that needs improvement."

"We had a very nice experience. I read 1 star reviews and was a little surprised. I honestly think it comes down to preferences and perception. I do agree, this is not a 5 star resort. However, this is a lovely property with friendly service that is always available. We also really enjoyed the food, contrary to the negative reviews. The rooms were also comfortable and clean."

"I absolutely loved Malolo Island Resort and highly recommend it! From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed with a song, warm smiles, and genuine hospitality that makes you feel special right away. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The food was excellent, the water was crystal clear and beautiful, and there were plenty of activities to enjoy throughout our stay. What truly sets Malolo apart is the people. Knox, Philly, Atu, Grace, and the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their kindness and personal attention made our experience unforgettable. I've stayed at many resorts, and Malolo Island Resort is by far one of the best. We left with wonderful memories and can't wait to return.."
