Mountainback Condo - Walking Distance to Canyon Lodge
You'll feel right at home at this inviting condo, which is a mere .25 mile walk up to Canyon Lodge! Our Condo #70 is replete with a comfortable rustic interior, and access to a shared pool, BBQ area, and sauna. Mountainback Condos also has individual jacuzzis for each of its nine buildings. The pool and spas are kept warm, clean and inviting.
Inside the condo, you'll have a spacious and homey living area. An open floor plan allows everyone to congregate and relax by the stone hearth. Our kitchen is well stocked with all utensils and equipment needed for cooking meals from simple to elaborate, plus a wet bar, a bar with seating for three, and a comfortable six-person table for sit-down meals. **Please note the fireplace is inoperable.
With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and private washer/dryer, this single-level condo will accommodate up to five guests. There is a large flatscreen tv in the living room and two smaller flat screens in each of the bedrooms. By accessing our wifi, you can stream your favorite shows using your home platforms.
In winter, ski/boarding essentials can be stowed at the front entrance for easy access. With beautiful pine trees and the mountains surrounding you, outdoor recreation is minutes away.
We’re closest to Canyon Lodge, but The Village restaurants and shops are only a 5-minute drive. There's also a shuttle out the front door of Unit #70 that can take you and your bike directly to Main Lodge or the Village. An 8-minute drive will get you to Lake Mary, the first of the Basin Lakes, all of which provide great biking/hiking trails, fishing, paddleboarding, boating, kayaking and swimming in the summer.
While Yosemite National Park is 2 hours away, Highway 395 has many scenic side roads to explore, the June Lake Loop being one of the most beautiful. 25 minutes from our Condo #70, this 16-mile drive on State Route 158 takes you past a half dozen lakes, providing fantastic views of the high mountains surrounding the small valley.

Great place and location! We had an amazing time in Mammoth and enjoyed our stay at this little place. The pool and spa were great to occupy my toddler.

It was great ! Very close to the Canyon Lodge lift at Mammoth for skiing. Definitely recommend staying here.
This is a lovely property. The rooms are spacious and clean with lots of light, beds are very comfortable, this place really feels like a mountain getaway. Great bathroom space, lots of room to move around, and a nicely appointed kitchen. Would definitely stay here again!
Enough room for 5, heaters work great, master bedroom heater makes a little noise. Excellent host, available when contacted. Walking distance to Canyon, underground parking was wonderful! Will stay again.
The locations convenience to the canyon lodge makes getting onto the slopes extremely easy. Also, being able to park in the covered garage to pack and unpack saves a lot of time and energy.
We enjoyed our stay. The location is very convenient to restaurants and shopping in the area. The helpful tips were excellent. The door locking process from the inside was a bit confusing though.
Our family of five has stayed at this condo several times in the last two years and we always enjoy our stay. It's roomy, clean and close to the village. There is also very easy access to Canyon Lodge with the dependable shuttle service just a few yards up or down from the condo. The two covered parking spaces under the complex is a plus.

I booked this site for my family, but only my son and I ended going. The location is great to get to Canyon Lodge by walking, and driving anywhere takes 10 minutes or less. It was quiet and cozy. My son and I spent our evenings in the nearby hot tub, then playing Nintendo in the living room. A great value.
The property was cozy and perfect size for a family of four. The kitchen was well-equipped. Everything was in great working condition except for the fireplace which we knew.
The furnishings were well-made and very comfortable.
The location was very close to the Village - less than 5 min drive or 10-15 minute walk.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We would book this property again.
Another wonderful stay in Mountainback. The living room and kitchen area is roomy for a family of five. The master bedroom bed is super comfortable. The shuttle to Canyon Lodge is steps away and love the covered parking for two cars. Will be coming again soon! Recommend turning the heater off in the master bedroom at night since it does make a lot of noise.
Best VRBO we have stayed at in Mammoth! Very clean. A little noisy at night. Master bathroom needs a little plumbing attention. Tub/shower drain is extremely slow and the sink has a constant drip. Other than that, it was terrific!
We think Mountainback is the best place to stay on the mountain (good location, spacious units and covered parking), and this is a nice corner unit (more light, views of the snow). My grandsons particularly liked the little ottoman bed, so they could each have their "own" bed. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted with nice pots and pans, ice cube trays and spices. We messed up the front door lock (read and understand the directions before leaving for the day!) but Arlene and the housekeeper helped us out quickly. And the price is a bargain for this area!
