Something for Everyone
We just completed our 3rd stay at magical Montario Point and this time we had the luxury of almost 2 weeks, as compared to previous 1 week stays. The house is just as described—with plenty of space and flexible sleeping space as well as a well -equipped kitchen, family room space and large eating porch (which also has 2 couches; LOVE to go out there early in the morning for the birds’ serenade). Mother Nature did not provide as much beach this year but enough for chairs /towels; There were also a few rocks to step over before getting in Lake but not a major hurdle! Also, shallow water makes it easy to cross a little outlet from Lake over to undeveloped State land where you can set up chairs, sand toys and/or walk for miles. The short walk through the woods to the beach never fails to inspire—that first glimpse of sparkling blue water as you reach the last sand dune transports one to a beautiful and peaceful place. If you tire of the beach or relaxing on the deck of the house overlooking large back yard and flower gardens (lots of bird activity including humming birds), the above-mentioned outlet from the lake leads to a quiet and meandering marsh which is perfect for kayaking. This year I saw multiple kingfishers, green and blue heron and a family of great crested flycatchers flitting about. We don’t fish, but if you do, a lot of people seem to enjoy the fishing there. Truly something for everyone at this rental! Bug spray a good idea for woods. Tom and Martha Miller
