Beautiful peaceful location with excellent staff. Very small bedroom but numerous lounge areas which would make it very suitable for groups of family or friends. Paid for a mountain view but couldn't see them because trees obstructed the view. Guests should be aware that the property is about 15 kilometres before the town of Mantegias and is quite isolated.

We stayed in an apartment which was so cozy and featured many of the beautiful Burel textiles. Weather restricted our outdoor activities, but we hope to return to experience these. My husband enjoyed the pool. The common areas were decorated with ski / alpine items and books - very tasteful. The staff were excellent - very kind and accommodating. The food was good, though for the evening meal we would have preferred that the entree portions be larger since we didn't typically desire the appetizer included in the prix fixe menu. We did purchase a Burel blanket from the hotel, and I think if they had a few more patterns / styles available they would be able to sell quite a few.

A Casa das Penhas Douradas foi uma ótima surpresa nas minhas férias por Portugal. O hotel é lindo, muito bem decorado, tudo novo e em ótimas condições, a equipe do hotel é incrivelmente simpática e disposta a fazer o hóspede se sentir muito especial e bem tratado, para se ter noção, o garçom Carlos do restaurante ficava brincando com meu bebê no colo para eu conseguir comer, um amor. O quarto muito confortável, tudo lindo e toda a construção ecológico. A comida e café da manhã deliciosos e muito farto. A piscina do spa é uma delícia, meu filho de 6 anos aproveitou muito, o hotel tb dispõe de um infinidade de filmes para fazer sessão de cinema numa sala muito confortável com lareira, telão, sofás, almofadões… Todos os dias é servido um drink diferente a tarde e um lanche muito gostoso, um mimo a mais para os hóspedes! Amei e recomendo

Our stay was amazing! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The calmness and silence of the nature is so nice. We also enjoyed a 5 course meal in the hotel which was terrific! The personal service of the staff really makes you feel at home, they walk you to your room, offered a welcome drink and afternoon cookies and different kind of activities in the surrounding nature. In short our stay of only 1 night was way too short.

Due to the pandemic I got an upgrade to Casa de São Lourenço that belongs to the same group. I have to say that the stay could not be better, the staff has wonderful, the rooms, the view, the restaurant, the breakfast all flawless. O pessoal é muito amável, sempre disponíveis para que te sintas bem e tenhas tudo o que precisas. Tiveram o detalhe de oferecer a opção de ficar com um quarto melhor que o contratado, e levaram-nos a visitar ambos os quartos. Sou muito indeciso e mudei de ideias duas vezes, e apesar disso, nunca puseram má cara. O hotel é num sítio muito agradável, no meio da natureza, ideal para relaxar 2 ou 3 dias. O detalhe do lanche buffet é fabuloso. O detalhe da oferta de massagem de mãos de 10 minutos, também. Em termos de espaço, há aspectos que se podiam melhorar. O duche é demasiado pequeno. O Spa também. A opção de jantar poderia ter um preço mais em conta, ou uma carta de snacks, por exemplo.

Hotel ziet er erg mooi ontworpen uit, passend bij de omgeving. Daardoor ook erg sfeervol. Kamer was ruim en met een lekker bed. Kamer had een zitje buiten en daarnaast zijn er meerdere terassen om na het wandelen of 's avonds na het eten rustig te zitten met een drankje. Diner van hotel was ook erg goed. Het personeel geeft je welkom gevoel en is erg behulpzaam. We hebben ook wandeling gemaakt met een van hun gidsen wat leuk was om te doen. Veder is een bezoek aan de burel fabriek, die aan hotel gelieerd is, zeker de moeite waard. De Serra de Estrella was een bijzondere en leuke afwisseling in onze Portugal reis.

A worthwhile detour with magnificent views

This hotel is located at the top of a long, steep road (about a 20 min drive from town) , but well worth the detour. Located almost at the top of the mountain, the views are wonderful and the hotel is beautiful. Decorated in an elegant but relaxed "ski lodge" style, the rooms are clean comfortable and QUIET! The staff was very welcoming (especially Sandra) and the "vibe is relaxed. They offer welcome snacks in the afternoons and a complimentary pre-dinner cocktail while guests are enjoying some quiet time in the many relaxing community sitting areas. They offered a guided morning hike to see the surrounding areas and the magnificent views and you can have a tour of the Burell fabric factory down in town. Another worthwhile detour! Overall the welcoming staff, the delicious food and the beautiful views made for a wonderful getaway.

Hotel conceito.. pouco quartos mas muito bem cuidado... fica a uns 20 minutos do ponto mais alto da serra da estrela. O lugar eh muito bonito. E pelo que vi .. esre e um dos melhires hoteis da regiao.
