Booked this house as a first Father’s Day/end of maternity leave get-away to relax with hubby and 4mo baby. First, Frank was awesome at communicating! We had all the check-in info a day or two prior to leaving, and everything was clean and easy to follow. The views are *chefs kiss* gorgeous, the yard is secluded (which was great for the dog), and it was only a 20-30 min drive to hikes, gas, groceries, breweries, etc.
The house was clean, kitchen stocked, the yard was freshly mowed and the hot tub was ready to go. One morning it rained pretty heavy and made sitting on the porch with the metal roof very pleasing. Every couple of hours deer with their fawns would meander through the yard, which was great to see! Definitely a house to settle in and enjoy if hiking and sightseeing aren’t a priority.
The most memorable part of this trip, actually, was due to our dog meeting his first-ever porcupine. Being from further south, it slipped our minds that bears and skunks were the least of our problems, so at 10pm, when our loveable idiot got up close and personal, Frank and his wife answered my emergency call, made some quick calls on our behalf while we scrambled to pack the dog and sleeping baby in the car, and helped us find the closest emergency vet (Albany, by the way). The next morning they called to check in on our pup (he’s fine). Their kindness and attention to the quality of our stay is very important, and as someone who rents very frequently, this was by far the best trip we’ve taken! We will definitely rent from them again! (With a shorter dog lead next time)
