"The property is just like the photos, clean, very large, and everything is new. The property is close to a nice park, grocery store, restaurants, and the beach. The beds in the bedrooms were comfortable. Our party fit in the 4 bedrooms so we did not try the fold out beds in the living room, so can't speak to the comfort there. We really appreciated the patio and grill, the games in the game area near the kitchen, and the stocked coffee/ tea bar. The host was very responsive to questions and...

Monarch Valley Inn Marina at Monterey Bay

Monarch Valley Inn Marina at Monterey Bay

8/10 Good
"The motel is solid for the price. It was well lit and felt safe at night. The king room I’d booked was also fairly spacious and was decorated quite nicely. Unfortunately, there were a few hairs that were not mine in the sheets when I’d lifted the covers for the first time. In addition, for those booking the downstairs king bedrooms, the footsteps in the rooms above can sound rather loud due to the laminate flooring, though thankfully the guests above me were not running around, and so it wasn’t as loud as it could have been. Although a much smaller concern, there was no conditioner available, even after I’d asked the front desk. I’m unsure if they were just out the one night I was there or if only shampoo and soap are supplied in each room. Breakfast is free but on the lighter side and consisted of one banana, tangerine, granola bar, madeline, and yogurt per person in a brown to-go bag, as well as free coffee. For those unaware, check in is at the back of the gas station and can be accessed through a glass door to the left side of the automatic sliding door entrance to the gas station mini mart. There was a gas station in the same lot as the motel, with a wall serving as a divider between the gas station and the rooms for some privacy. While it was convenient being able to grab snacks and gas before hitting the road, there were some cars during the night that would either drive by loudly or make a lot of noise while filling up. Overall a good stay and was worth it."
