"The apartment stunk of cigarettes, a non smoking property absolutely reeking of smoke. The fridge had half bottles of other guests drinks. There was a gas pipe sticking up in the middle of the bedroom. The toilet roll was the last few sheets of an old roll. The towel wasn’t fit to dry a wet dog. Disgusting. "I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in for cleanliness. The bath was covered in black hairs and clearly hadn’t been cleaned, we ended up having to put a towel in the bath to shower because it was disgusting. There was black mold on the walls in the bathroom. The shower is either scolding hot or cold and will change mid shower which is unpleasant. There was what looked like wet tissue dried onto the ceiling and walls. The air con unit worked for about 20 minutes before it poured out a load of water straight onto the desk below so we couldn’t use it - 30 degree temperatures outside as well! Awful - wouldn’t stay here. The staff were helpful however."

"A few minutes from the train and bus station. so really easy to get to. Didn't have much chance to explore Charleroi, but the hostel was nice. I booked a singe room, although this was just a private bed within a dorm, but still gave me a place to rest. (And a choice of beds) They also had plenty of sockets, as well as USB ports, allowing me to charge phone and battery pack. The breakfast was a nice addition in the morning and they also offer you the chance to take a packed lunch for later in the day with your exploring. The reception staff were really friendly and I believe they had a relaxing area, terrace and bar to enjoy too, although I did not get chance to make use of these."

"Shocking customer service. We arrived at 23.30 and had to argue with the staff for half an hour so he would let us into the room. According to him, they hadn’t received our payment and wouldn’t allow us into the room unless we paid again. I contacted hotels.com, who assured me and them that we had already paid. We were allowed into the room well after midnight. Not acceptable at all."
