Beyond imagination

This Riad was an amazing place. Abdel and the staff were absolutely accommodating and could not have been more welcoming. The Riad itself was clean and quite comfortable. Located in the old section it was walking distance to all of the major sites to visit in Marrakech. I would go back to Marrakech just to enjoy another stay at this Riad.

Ort der Ruhe und Erholung inmitten einer anstrenge

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und würden uns beim nächsten Besuch in Marrakesch wieder hier einbuchen. Das Riad und die Zimmer sind sauber, gepflegt, und ansprechend hergerichtet. Die Küche ist sehr gut und geht auf alle Wünsche ein. Zur Begrüßung bekamen wir Pfefferminztee mit frischer Minze. Das Frühstück war immer ausgezeichnet, und jeden morgen gab es ein paar Abwandlungen. Wir hatten an ein paar Abenden ebenfalls Abendesse im Riad (einfach vorher bescheid sagen) und es war jedesmal vorzüglich. Wenn man es wünscht kann man auch eine Flasche Wein dazu bekommen. Mit dem Gastgeber haben wir uns auf Englisch unterhalten, er spricht gut Englisch. Wir wurden sehr freundlich, fröhlich und hilfsbereit umsorgt. Egal ob wir abends noch Lust hatten auf Fruchtcocktails auf der Dachterrasse, oder die auf dem Markt gekauften frischen Erdbeeren einfach kurz in der Küche abgegeben haben um sie abwaschen zu lassen, einfach höflich fragen. Den Gästen stehen der Innenhof, die Sitzecken im Erdgeschoß und im ersten Stock und die Dachterrasse zur freien Verfügung um es sich gemütlich zu machen, zu lesen, zu schreiben, einen Tee zu genießen, und die anstrengende Stadt hinter sich zu lassen. Wir bekamen hier auch eine Wegbeschreibung wie wir durch die Gassen der Altstadt bis zum Djemaa el-Fna (dem zentralen Platz) und wieder zurück finden. Nach kurzer Zeit fanden wir uns gut zurecht. Bis zum Zentrum sind es ca. 10 - 15 min Fußweg. Ich empfand Marrakesch als eine sehr anstrengende Stadt da man unentwegt angesprochen wird und ungefragt irgendwelche Dienstleistungen aufgenötigt bekommt die man abwimmeln muss. Im Riad kann man das alles hinter sich lassen und wieder entspannen, so zumindest ging es mir immer. Wie eine Burg inmitten einer hektischen Stadt. Riad Kalinka Lotus liegt am östlichen Rand der Altstadt, nahe dem Stadttor bab ghmat, von wo aus man gut zu den alten Königspalästen kommt, dem intakten Palais Bahia, und dem zerstörten Palais El Badii.
