Great place close to skiing!

This great cabin was beautiful and had plenty of room for all 12 of us. The owners were awesome and the family loved meeting Lobo. Very close to Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and Snow Tubing which we took advantage of. Definitely want to go back.

Beautiful cabin

We loved the cabin, it was a beautiful getaway. The only inconvenience of the cabin was lack of a bathroom outside of a bedroom.

Gorgeous property

This cabin is fantastic, as are all of them on the property at Memory Mountain. There is plenty of space for everyone and the wrap around decks are great. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there and no one felt crowded. The fire pit by the pond is a great addition as well, we enjoyed sitting out there. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Fun Getaway

Enjoyed the property! Had a nice pond for fishing and a clean house. Outlets and plumbing were a little iffy at times, not terribly reliant with the heaters that the house had.

Beautiful Mountain Oasis

We had a great time staying at this Mars Hill cabin. The scenery is breathtaking on the drive in as well as at the cabin. The hosts were super accommodating and quick to respond. We loved the authentic feel of the cabin and the amenities on site. Thank you for a wonderful time to celebrate my Bachlorette party. We look to come back in the future.

Great view

This cabin has a great view. The owners are very responsive and answer any questions you have. We would suggest 4-wheel drive if you are parking in one of the two bottom spaces. The cabin could use a little updating but other than that you won’t be disappointed. Would stay again!!!

Fishing/swimming get away

We had a great time staying at the Lakeside Cabin on Memory Mountain. Steve checked in with us several times to make sure all was going well. Fishing was great. We caught tons of bass. The girls put on life vests and loved paddling around in the lake. Thanks for the great trip!

Perfection

Memory Mountain was just wonderful! We had debated staying in Asheville and finally settled on staying outside of Asheville here. It was the best decision! The drive to Asheville was very quick and easy but we ended up spending a lot of time at the cabin and exploring around Memory Mountain property. (Perfect place for some family photos FYI!) Papa Steve and Ms. Joy are absolutely amazing and made our stay so wonderful!

Charming cabins owned by wonderful people!

Both mine and my husbands families and wedding party rented all five cabins on the property for our wedding weekend. We had an amazing time! The cabins feel so secluded yet are very accessible to one another. Steve and Joy were amazing and made us feel welcome! You are close enough to everything you need yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet charm of the mountainous woods. We had an incredible weekend that was made possible by the people and location of Memory Mountain! Our family and friends are already discussing our next trip back :)

Wonderful Place!

Memory mountain is a place where the pace of life slows down. It's a place where cool breezes and the sounds of nature allow you to be still enough to hear the whispers of God. This was our second trip here, but it will not be our last. Memory Mountain is now a part of our family, part of our story. Steve's hospitality is second only to Lobo's:) I love that wolf! Counting the days until we return... it cannot be soon enough.

Perfect weekend wedding!

We seriously had the best weekend ever! We got married on the beautful dock on Saturday, August 12th, 2017. Steven the son touched up the red dock before we got there. Our friends and family were able to fit in both cabins we rented and they loved it. Wedding or no wedding the location is beautiful and so peaceful. This place is a gem and we will be back soon, I hope! Thank you for helping make this the best weekend of our lives!!

Mostly very nice

Beautiful cabin with great last minute availability which we were very grateful for! Nice views, very serene. The owner was very communicative and accommodating. Our only real disappointment was that the hot tub never heated properly, so we weren't able to use it. Large groups should also be aware that, aside from a half bath down in the basement/garage, you have to walk through bedrooms to access the toilets on the main floors.

You won't regret it

It is hard to put into words the hospitality that happens at Memory Mountain. You will see it online. It is all much, much larger in life. Not only in physical features, but also in heartfelt measures. This is a place that is special. Get ready for the impressive, unexpected. And get ready to understand what is important. There is no place like this. Thank you!

An unforgettable weekend

What an unforgettable weekend. My husband and I invited 60 friends from across the country to stay with us at Wolf Laurel in 4 cabins owned by Steve and Joy for our wedding celebration. Everyone was so happy – with the cabins, the bonfire, the beautiful dinner with a surprise guest appearance by a double rainbow, and the friendly Alaskan Red Wolf, Lobo. It was more than we could've asked for. Steve was so accommodating on the night of the party with the decor and moving the tables and benches, he even built more for us. They went above and beyond and I couldn't recommend a place more. Thank you Steve and Joy.

Weekend Wedding

We had a medium, 60-ish guest wedding. With families from either side of the country, we planned a weekend getaway wedding in the fall mountains. Guests trickled in all weekend, and there were no problems as far as sleeping arrangements. Everyone loved helping build fires, watching football, and just enjoying the outdoors. The Cabins were fantastic. Folks came and went as they pleased. I received so much feedback on how relaxing and beautiful it was for everyone. Most importantly, Steve and Joy are just so helpful and accommodating. They treat you like family, and that is just a breath of fresh air in terms of renting a property.

Sweet Sixteen Mountain Weekend

This cabin was an amazing place to spend the weekend with our twin daughters and 5 of their friends to celebrate their 16th birthday. We took our other daughter and her friend, too. There was plenty of room! The bunk room with the attached game room and porch with a hot tub was perfect! We fished, hiked, and cooked s’mores around the fire pit. The cabin is beautiful and so is the property. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The great room furniture and all the beds were incredibly comfortable. The communication with hosts was excellent. The 20 minute drive to downtown Mars Hill was easy and there were great restaurants. We would definitely book this cabin again any time of year!! We didn’t want to leave!

Great Memories on Memory Mountain

We were looking for a quiet get away for a week of relaxation, fishing, and enjoying the colors of Fall. As it turned out, a cabin at Memory Mountain turned out to be the perfect choice. We stayed at the Lakeside Cabin which gave us the perfect setting for watching the sun rise over the mountains each morning while listening to the calming waterfalls among the cascading lakes down the mountainside. We spent each evening enjoying the firepit while gazing at the stars. The Lakeside Cabin itself was spacious, warm and inviting, with that rustic charm you would expect from a mountain cabin. Steve and Joy were great hosts. They always greeted us with a smile, checking in periodically to make sure we were enjoying our stay and if we needed anything. Their suggestions for hiking and site seeing were great – from hiking the Appalachian Trail to touring the Biltmore Estate. We look forward to coming back next year!

recently married at Memory Mountain

There is so much good I could say about Steve, Joy, and Memory Mountain that I could type forever. My husband, Quillie, and I were married there May 3rd of this year. We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception at Lakeside at cabin. Our wedding ceremony was held at the gazebo on the lake. The setting, the people, Lobo :), everything was absolutely PERFECT. Steve and Joy are so helpful and truly helped the weekend run smoothly. Feel free to email me. Memory Mountain is truly magical and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a venue. Steve and Joy are like family now and our family will continue to visit Memory Mountain yearly. Thanks Steve and Joy!!!! Sending tons of southern love and hugs your way :) ~Abbey Love Mitchell Murray

Great Cabin For Making Great Memories

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Lakeside Lodge. It was such a cozy atmosphere for the two families that shared the cabin. There was plenty of room and it was nice to have the extra beds in the loft and downstairs. It accommodated 9 people comfortably with room to spare! I love all of the unique features that the cabin offers. The owner and his son put their heart into building it and it shows. We enjoyed our time around the fireplace, loved the beautiful setting of the cabin, and had some wonderful dinners around the big dining room table. We definitely made some memories that we will always cherish. This is truly a piece of paradise and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The owner was very accommodating and could not have been nicer. He even let our teenagers ride his four-wheeler, which they loved. He definitely went ‘above and beyond’ to make sure that we had everything we needed. Loved, loved, loved everything about this place.
