Wonderful accommodation in this mountain retreat. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Very close to the castle. Loved the hot tub snd took advantage everyday. We added a 3rd day to just enjoy the experience. Dining options were limited but good. Recommended.

Excellent staff especially Jorge. It’s an old traditional building and as such can be rather dark. Our bedroom was especially dark with only one small window at the far end with staff washing hung outside.

Fantastic hotel.

Very pleased with our hotel choice. The receptionist was extremely helpful and informative on our arrival. Our room is well appointed, clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel is situated the centre of Marvão everything is easily accessible. The views from our terrace are spectacular. We will certainly stay here again.

A rustic classic bed and breakfast with a warm hot tub is a nice pavilion on the edge of a cliff. Really quite wonderful. Marvão, of course, is a special, magical place that is not to be missed. Highly recommend.

We had the room next to the hot tub with a balcony overlooking the valley, the cities below and the mountains. Wow, wow, wow! Fort was right next door. Restaurants were available even though it wasn’t high season. We fell in love with Marvão. What a wonderful place

Cozy, cute hotel with extremely good service/staff

Everyone was so friendly at the hotel and Elsa very helpful. They made us a dinner reservation and allowed us to bring breakfast up to the room when I didn’t have enough time to eat and then get ready. The room was comfortable open the windows was really nice! Great location right next to the castle in the parking was super easy. They also helped us find the best route to drive up to the castle, which made it a lot easier than trying to navigate the little streets. The breakfast buffet was simple, but everything was so so delicious!

Marvao was such a cute mountaintop village with a castle. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would suggest asking for a room away from the road since our room was right next to the road and the tire noise was loud on the cobblestones as cars and trucks pasted by. There was no noticeable traffic at night so the room was very quiet then. The staff are excellent. Breakfast was very good. We stayed for two nights and considered our stay as a quiet retreat from our busy Portugal trip. We had a lovely time here.

Close to the castle. The rooms and furnishings are dated. We had a bathtub with a hand held wand not very convenient. They had a nice jacuzzi that you could hook and use which was nice. Not much open. Disappointing stop. One night would have been enough. We stayed 2

This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Portugal. The hotel was extremely charming with excellent staff. It’s located within the castle walls and near the entrance of the castle, which is open 24/7. The hot tub area is by reservation only (no charge), so me and my husband drank wine and watched sunset all by ourselves. They also provide thick robes in the bedrooms for this. Breakfast was lovely. Lots of options to choose from: meats, cheeses, cereal, fresh pastries, fruit and more. Highly recommend staying at this lovely Inn.

Great location and hotel! It’s a little older, but very charming. The staff person was wonderful, and the area is incredible! We parked right outside the beginning of the town, as driving on the narrow streets didn’t feel worth the short-ish walk to get there.

Hotel service was incredibly helpful. They gave us clear phone directions for parking inside the village and even reserved us a dinner table at their restaurant. Breakfast was on a terrace with the most beautiful view over ever seen. We had an amazing stay!

absolutely breathtaking views from the terrace and our room and close proximity to the castle. The room was very comfortable. A very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Marvao is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
