"Stayed there for 2 nights. Booked approx 2 months before but when we arrived they had no details of our booking so we were forced to wait for nearly an hour til the staff were able to contact the manager. Noise from other guests was a problem both nights. Due to very noisy music in the hotel car park we were unable to sleep and we were forced to ring noise control. Noise stopped 20 mins later. Meals in the restaurant were good value, we ate there both nights."

Historic Farm Cottage with spectacular harbour/rural views

10/10 Excellent

"If you are wanting to holiday far from the madding crowd but not a great distance out of Auckland then South Head is the spot. The first few days the southwester blew so we just hunkered down for some restful reading and relaxing, fed the chickens, and the quiet, dark nights (apart from the occasional bull roaring!) assisted a solid sleep. The weather settled for the grandsons to come for a couple of nights and we hiked further afield along the inlet shoreline and around the headland at low tide, even took in an early morning fishing expedition, disturbing a sleeping seal pup. Sharon and Neil are over in the farmhouse for any extra information including a yarn about the history of the property and what's happening at present on the farm. The bach is historic (which we loved) but has plenty of everything you need for a comfortable holiday. This place was perfect for us and we will be back."

"This house is beautifully positioned for views and sun and access to local cafes and beach. The perfect getaway. When we arrived the smoke detector had a low battery and so was beeping loudly. We made a phonecall to the host and the problem was solved within15 minutes. Beautifully furnished. We will be back."

"Lovely spot and a great setup for family. Our dog enjoyed his stay and nice to have the property fenced off. The road is a little windy and steep in places but we got our motorcross trailer to the house no worries and good amount of space to maneuver it around. Karen was great with the comms and process was really easy."
