SANDY BAY - Sublime beachside

  • It is just a 140m level stroll to the well known surf beach Sandy Bay which is generally safe for swimming/surfing through all tides and also has a freshwater creek/lagoon for small children to paddle in. The well utilised walking track along the coast to Whananaki starts here for those wanting peaceful exercise.
    A short drive will take you to Whale Bay and Matapouri and just a few more kilometers sees you at Tutukaka, the base for all diving and fishing tours heading out to the world famous Poor Knights Islands. You will also find a variety of cafes and eateries at Tutukaka and Ngunguru.
    Special conditions:
    - Smoking allowed outside only
    - No camping, no tents
    - BATH TOWELS ONLY INCLUDED WITH LINEN - Feb 2017 to Dec 15th 2017
    - Beach Towels can be provided at extra cost of $5 per person
