Firstly, we did not get to stay at Residence du Port as our booking confirmation could not be located. We asked to look around so as to make a new reservation, but found that the pool was inaccessible as we were informed that it was under renovation. We were also informed that the wifi was not free as indicated in my confirmation. We were also not happy with the 2 units which were left.

With a little effort could be a really nice place

When we reserved this place through Expedia the email we received indicated it was paid in full. But when we got there we were informed that we would have to pay for any electricity used. When we got to the room we found it to be woefully under-provided. Nothing to clean with: no paper towels, soap, sponges or even a broom (even though we had to park in a dirt lot and there was sand everywhere). Also there was no toilet paper. The wifi was a joke; we could get logged in occasionally, but actual connectivity wasn't happening. There was a coffee maker in the kitchen, but it was disgusting. I went to the store and bought bleach and cleaning supplies and we gave things a thorough once over. Before bed I wanted a quick shower, and that's when I realized there was no hot water. After I got finished I looked around and found 2 water heaters in an outside closet; neither of which was plugged in. So at least we had hot water in the morning. When we got into bed we learned what a truly uncomfortable mattress is. I didn't expect much, but this was well below my expectation. And since it was so hard I had to continually roll over, and every time I did the bed squeaked so loudly it woke up my wife. When it was time to leave I learned that I had used a fairly significant amount of electricity in 2 days, and there was another "tax" that was added in.
