I agree with the other reviewers- this place is outstanding. I would love to return to see it in all four seasons! We loved sitting on the porch and watching the creek roll by during a thunderstorm. The two bedrooms downstairs are lovely, and I also found the futon very comfortable to sleep on.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was easy to find, clean, and well stocked. The property was beautiful and relaxing. We highly recommend this place and hope to stay again soon!
We had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and private getaway. Lots of local gems to enjoy nearby or do nothing at all and relax. Everything was as advertised.
The cabin was RUSTIC but very good.. The only disappointment we had was the BBQ- it was not usable and in bad shape. Besides that, the fire pit was fun, the beds comfortable, the cabin was well stocked and the stream next to the cabin was just beautiful…

Perfect little getaway
We could not have asked for a better stay at Clearwater Cabin! It had mostly everything we could need and more. The property is beautiful and private with trout stream running along side it. We will most certainly return for a visit in the warmer months!
Beautful, charming cabin with beautiful scenery. Cabin has everything you can think of. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch and the opportunity to fish.
Beautiful, serene property. The cabin is rustic, and comfortable. Easy and prompt communication with the owner. The arrival instructions are thorough and accurate. We had no issues but I can see where those who don't follow the instructions COMPLETELY could have a problem finding it.
Lovely place, very comfortable and romantic. This was our second time there and it was just as great as we remembered. Amazing shower in the master bedroom, too. Great porch to sit on and enjoy the views of the creek.
Clearwater cabin is a great place to kickback and relax and enjoy the outdoors. The wrap around porch is wonderful to sit on and listen to the stream. We will have to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the fire pit and do some fishing.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The creek and wooded area was fun for our kids to explore and the firepit was perfect for smores every night (with metal sticks provided!). While the kitchen isn't huge, it definitely had plenty of space for our needs and was well stocked with utensils, pots/pans, etc. The beds have the softer memory foam toppers and there were more than enough linens for us to use. Any communication we had with the host was quick and easy.
A wonderful little cabin to get away from the busy world and seek some peace and quiet.
Getting in tune with nature and distressing your self from everything to be more centered in life.
A great get away with the family.
Spacious stream-side cabin in the woods with bountiful amenities. Wonderful wraparound porch that is only steps away from a mountain stream and large fireside gathering area. The cabin offers a very cozy atmosphere and is well stocked for a lengthy stay. The A/C and gas fireplace really make this place a year round destination. We’ll most definitely be back!
Just what we needed! The cabin was lovely and the location couldn't have been better. We enjoyed the sounds of the river and walking along the mostly cleared path that skirt the river front. The fire pit was fabulous. We brought our own hammock to enjoy afternoon naps. It was a great off the grid stay.
The place was as described, a quiet rustic cabin with all the amenities needed. The lockbox may need to be changed, did have trouble getting it opened, but finally got in. Will return! If you are looking to disconnect and enjoy nature, this is the place!

So relaxing
Clearwater Cabin is a wonderful place to relax and reset! Cows on the right, creek on the left and comfort in the middle!! The porch was so great, sit there listening to the creek and reading is the best thing to do. We were there for 2 days and never turned the tv on! Great place to take the kids...they will just stay at the water! Cabin was eqipped with all the essentials, plus extra! We will be going back!
We have stayed at Clearwater Cabin previously and loved it so much we came back for our anniversary. We'll be back again. We enjoy quiet restful vacations which is exactly what we got. There is literally nothing to do in McDowell, but that's everything we wanted. Sitting on the deck by the stream drinking tea and reading was as perfect as it gets. The house is the perfect combination of very rustic but with modern conveniences! I hesitate to tell how much we love this house because then others will rent it out from under us!!!

Loved creek sounds of nature
I've been to many different vacation rental homes, The Clearwater cabin is one of top 5 on my list. Our family stayed 3nights and 4days in cabin was very relaxing and comfortable feeling of my home. This house is well maintained my husband knows because of his job. House is very clean and no bugs at all. We just loved sitting at porch drinking coffee and hearing nature was so healing. Creek water is so clear catching crayfish was fun. Great for kids and adult as well.We loved firepit burning woods and watching stars at night. I highly recommend this property for getaway and relax.
Clearwater Cabin was so much fun! Quaint, charming and such a family feel to it. During our stay, I kept saying how nice it would be to have something like this in the family for all to enjoy. We loved the set up and the bedrooms were comfortable. The queen bed was very very soft. Probably needs replacing. We thoroughly enjoyed the large firepit and practically lived by it during our 3 day stay. Star gazing in the field was a big hit as well. We'd love to come back again! The communication with the owner was great and she was very accommodating. We just loved this sweet little cabin! Thanks for sharing it!
This little rustic cabin was warm and inviting. Had most of everything you'd need. It is very secluded right on the Crab Run stream which was rolling while we were there from all of the rain. When you walked out on the lovely covered porch it always sounded like rain even if it wasn't raining due to the rolling stream. What a relaxing sound with your morning coffee on the porch. The gas wood stove made it nice and toasty inside and the large fire pit was wonderful for relaxing outside. All in all we loved this place and would go back again. You have to check out the local Sugar Tree Store in McDowell which is a mile away from the cabin. We got to meet Glen the owner of the store. We got an education about the area from him and enjoyed some good ole country hospitality. Be prepared to drive through the NFS mountains to get there and to get to other towns. The drives around were breath taking.
