Note: Ski season rentals are 3 night minimums

King Lodge is located at one of the highest elevations in Massanutten. It has the best views in all of Massanutten. It has close up and panoramic views of the slopes + 30 miles down into Shenandoah Valley. To enjoy those views we've built one of the largest decks in the resort.

- (due to uneven demand and use, customers are responsible for refilling the propane tanks for each (at the 7-11 at the front of Massanutten).

Jeff is an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed! Beautiful views! I was disappointed that we couldn't use the fireplace because of insurance but we would definitely stay here again and hope we have an opportunity to go back!

Annual Winter Gathering

My family joined two other families to get together for the winter. The adults, as well as the children had an absolute blast! This home is stunning, and has amenities for all ages and styles. Everyone loved how warm and cozy this house was and the views are indescribable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spot with us! We will certainly be back again!

Nice get away

Overall this property is wonderful. These are not complaints, just a few suggestions, do your research on the resort rules and guidelines.1. Asked owner several questions regarding certain activities. Although they were answered promptly, they were contradictory to the actual rules. 2. We were a large family group, 16 to be exact. Going out to eat is really not an option for us. Kitchen is relatively well stocked. While there is plenty of seating, dishes, silverware etc..pots, pans and serving dishes were very limited, there are no food storage containers. 3. If you are interested in fishing be aware you will be required to purchase both a VA fishing license and a resort fishing Permit to fish the ponds on resort property even though VA law states otherwise. Resort personnel are ill informed. After a 20 minute discussion. and presenting them with the state regulations, their final answer was “because that’s the way we’ve always done it.” Being an owner of a beach property in a resort area ourselves, we are familiar with unhappy guests. You will not be disappointed here. We had a great time, the views are stunning ! Would definitely return. Thank you Jeff for sharing your beautiful home.

An Excellent Choice

We had an excellent time here - very highly recommend. This was our family reunion and the house was a perfect base. It is located on the Massanutten Resort and I very strongly suggest you research the many recreational options the resort offers before arriving as reservations may be needed. We had 11 adults and two toddlers and were very comfortable. Jeff, the owner, was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. Upon arrival, we went to COSTCO in Harrisonburg and bought all of the food needed for the week. You do not want to have to make a daily grocery run! There was an extra fridge and a giant pantry so storing that was no problem. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and gadgets. There are four bedrooms and one bath on the top floor, a very large master with en suite on the main, a garage that has been converted to a bunkhouse with an en suite, and a funny bonus room with futons in the basement. We had plenty of space. The open plan kitchen, dining, and family room is a huge space and where we spent the majority of our time together but the basement with its bar area is another great gathering area. The deck is very spacious and serves as an extension of the family room. We were treated to the resort's excellent 4th of July fireworks display and had front row seats. During that day we went out and did tubing and kayaking on the Shenandoah (Massanutten Adventures picks you up right on the resort), miniature golf, hiking, and used the pools. The house had a great pool table and foosball table for creating your own fun and tourneys. We had six cars and all fit in the driveway though we did have to jockey cars around if anyone needed to get out. It was a very quiet location with beautify views down into the Shenandoah Valley. The house was perfect for our reunion. Thanks, Jeff!

Wonderful place for our family get together

We loved everything about this place- it was even better than the pictures show. We had five couples, one single adult, and one 6-year old. There are four bedrooms upstairs with one bathroom, but it's easy enough to go downstairs if needed. There are two big bedrooms in the main floor with restrooms. And there is the one room downstairs with couches that could be a bedroom. Huge porch (now with a hot tub!), great views, and plenty of various seating options. We even went for a hike down the road, which ended up being more difficult than we anticipated, but lovely nonetheless. The owner is extremely quick at communicating. I'd definitely stay here again.

Excellent Rental - Highly Recommend

We originally planned for 12 adults but ended up with 8 due to snow in our home area. This home was perfect! There was plenty of space for us to watch movies, play pool and card games, and relax. One of my favorite moments was sitting in the living room rocking chair next to the fireplace one morning, looking out to the picture-perfect view of the slopes…so peaceful. The close proximity to snow activities was also awesome and convenient. DoorDash and Grubhub delivery, which came in handy when we didn’t feel like cooking. That said, we had everything we needed in the kitchen. A very unique feature in this house was the 4-season room/deck off the upstairs master. There are a couple chairs where you can sit and enjoy the view without succumbing to the cold. During our stay, we were able to watch a snow shower and it was so beautiful. The owner kept in contact throughout the trip to answer any questions and ensure all was going well, and was extremely helpful. This house is definitely a winner and we would love to stay again!

Great property and host

Fantastic location, great property for family reunion (ten of us, 7 adults, three kids 5 and under). Both kids and adults loved it. Kids loved the toys and playing PAC-man with their father. Adults enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, the Fall weather, and watching the leaves change. Lots of space, great common room and dining area. Easy drive to Shenandoah National Park -- we hiked there almost every day. Minor issues: 1) having to check the propane level as part of checkin; 2) having to haul the trash down the hill for disposal. For a high-end property, the cleaning crew should be able to do one or both of these.

Trip with old friends

A group of us met up at the Massanutten resort in September and stayed at the King's Lodge. This place was easily able to accommodate 13 of us without making us feel like we were right on top of each other. The common areas had ample seating and the deck offered some nice views! The resort area has some beautiful spots with lush green scenery, deer traipsing about, convenient trails, etc. We made some good memories here! Definitely would recommend!

Beautiful home on great piece of land in an awesome resort. Lots of room to spread out and sleep comfortably. Very well maintained. The whole family, young and old enjoyed their stay and had a great weekend.

Gathering of Friends

Great property and everything was lovely. Heads up: I brought my coffee pot to the rental after reading there was only a Keurig. That has been remedied.
