Everything about our stay was GREAT! My husband enjoyed the sauna and my favorite part was relaxing on the couch with the fireplace going after rock hunting at the beach. No issues and plenty of amenities...we will be back!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here with our 2 little dogs. The sauna was especially nice, but it is also a nice location to get to a lot of beaches and forests!
The property was lovely, picturesque, and cozy.
Our stay was refreshing and healing to the body, mind, and soul. Our hosts were wonderful! Highly recommend!
We love that you can hear the ocean and Mad River from this lovely place. Great location and has everything you need to be comfortable. The yard is so well maintained and provides a peaceful place to be outside. The owners are awesome.
I really liked it! I thought it safe, was well maintained and thoughtfully decorated with high-end touches. Would stay again. Had trouble opening the lock when I first arrived but the owner helps me out seems like really nice lady
We are repeat guests because we love this property and its amenities. It is located along the Hammond Trail where there are many options for walks. There is a great sauna that I used every day. The yard is beautiful and the backyard is perfect for letting your dog roam. The property owners are great.
We enjoyed this peaceful property! It was great to be able to bring our dogs to visit our homesick college freshman. Beautiful grounds. We loved the sauna. The unexpected view was a bonus. Felt very secure behind the gated driveway.
We have stayed in a few rentals in Humboldt Co and have always had a wonderful time with very nice properties but this one rose to the top of the list upon entering the yard! Exceptional landscaping and privacy! Little attached cottage had everything we need! Very well done! Comfortable bed with a slider for cool air. Nice accessibility to area beaches and forests. Will definitely stay again!
We loved our stay at this lovely spot in McKinleyville. The unit is private with a nice little backyard off the bedroom where we sat and enjoyed the landscaping. The frony yard looks out to the ocean and has a little spot to sit and enjoy the sunset. The sauna is a gem and the Pictures do not do it justice! The location is excellent, we took walks every morning before heading out for the day.
The house has eveything you need. The yard is beautiful with off street parking included. Joellen is a great host .
This is a wonderful property, particularly for a couple travelling with a dog. The place is very clean. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. The bedroom is comfortable. The bathroom is particularly pretty with natural tile and a window overlooking the garden. The front garden is lovely with gated parking. The back garden is private and gated separately so the dog can go out the back door from the bedroom without having to be on leash. They provide a dog bed, which is nice because pets aren't allowed on the furniture. I put the dog bed in the hall closet so that it was out of the way and we could close it off from the living room at night. While I understand why the dog wasn't allowed on the couch, the dog did not, and he would have been sleeping on the couch if he had had access. The location was also perfect. There are great hikes in 3 directions easily walkable from the property and it is an easy drive to the redwood forests. The hosts were very responsive.
This place is so awesome and a little piece of paradise. The beach is approximately a two mile walk but it’s beautiful across a bridge over the river and down a road that has a bunch of farms. The unit itself was super clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated. There are nightlights in several spots which were super convenient, even one of the plants had lights that was a nice touch. The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes and cooking things you might need. The backyard was just what we needed to let our dogs do their business without it being super inconvenient and to go outside and play while we were getting ready for our day. The gas stove was great for heating the living area and the electric heater did a great job at heating the bedroom. All of the instructions around the unit were super helpful. The front yard was the best- immaculate, peaceful, and amazing gardening skills with a beautiful fountain and even some resident frogs I didn’t get to meet oso, but my husband did and he said he was very friendly. Joellen was so nice to greet my husband and then later greeted me when we ran into each other on our walk to the beach. It was very spacious and the private parking was a nice touch so we didn’t have to worry about finding parking at all. Highly recommend for a vacation get away!
As before this was the perfect place for us. I like that there are doors to separate living areas and everything is so comfortable. It was perfect to stay there with our son as he slept on the pull out couch and we slept in the bedroom. Having some outside space is really nice too and relaxing. We went for a really long walk right from the house, along the river and all the way to the beach. The scenery was beautiful with farmland areas and a people bridge across the river. It was even wonderful to do during the rain.
We ended our trip here and it was our absolute favorite place! Joellen was extremely kind & very communicative. We followed her recommendations and had a great time! The garden is beautiful and the home is beautifully designed, perfect for two people to stay comfortably. There is a bike rental a couple of streets down from the home, do not forget to spend an evening doing that! Everyone nearby is kind, and you are the perfect distance away from the beach, town & national park :)
What a gorgeous property! The hosts have thougbt of absolutely everything. The unit was SUPER clean and VERY well appointed. We travel as often as we can, and this property is in the top 1 or 2 places for cleanliness, comfort,location....even the grounds are beautifully kept. I can't say enough good things about this little spot on the Hammond Trail.
