Awesome and extremely convenient surroundings. We're situated at the corner of Spencer and Lonsdale St, just a few steps to the Southern Cross train station with access to everything all under the one roof.
Enjoy the convenience of Woolworths Express, over 40 retail stores and cafes, with direct access to Marvel Stadium, Melbourne's Docklands precinct, the CBD and Spencer Outlet Centre.
There are tons of things to do in the city itself which are mostly a quick stroll away.
I've included most of my favorite places and more in my extensive "Local Recommendations Guidebook" on this listings page, so please feel free to check em' out for awesome things to do and eat in the CBD area.
Getting Around:
Needless to say, surrounded by trams, cabs, buses and situated right next to the Southern Cross station, getting around is not going to be a problem at all.
Hop on board the Skybus which provides a quick, convenient and cost effective way to get to and from the airport.
Access to the Overland rail service TrainLink XPT.
Coach services to Melbourne Airport and Avalon Airport, as well as regional Victorian and interstate destinations.
Europcar, Budget and Avis rental car depots are just opposite the building in the Southern Cross station, so picking up and dropping off a rental car is super easy!
There is also a tram stop right outside the main entrance on Spencer Street.
Most importantly, all trams within the city grid are FREE. Just look out for the "FREE tram zone" signs.
If you drive, you may park at the paid public car park at the Southern Cross station. Alternatively you may look online for other suitable parking options.
Other Things to Note:

If you want to leave your luggage before checking-in or after you check-out, there are affordable luggage services and paid lockers across the road at the Southern Cross train station. They charge anywhere from AU$10 to AU$16 per locker for 24 hours worth of storage.
This pad accommodates 2 adults comfortably but a max of 3 overnight. Any more than 2 adult guests overnight will attract an extra AU$29 per night, per additional guest.
The sleeping arrangement for the 3rd adult would be on a 3-seater couch.

We stayed over the Grand Prix weekend. Ideal location. Tram straight to the track nearby. Coffee shop directly downstairs. Cole’s across the road. Apartment itself well equipped and everything was clean. Had a great stay.
Enjoyed swimming pool. Advert mentioned parking but we're not clear that it wasn't underneath. As disabled person had long walk to parking station. Park was ok.
Just as pictures, the amenities and location were fantastic. Check in after hours was a bit of a mission though - wasn't specified which apartment tower I had to access. Otherwise, loved my stay. Would return
Clean & comfortable, and very convenient as it really is situated right across from Southern Cross Railway Station. Quiet place, especially as you are quite high up in the building. It was a somewhat smaller than we expected from the picture, and therefore would actually be better suited for a single person staying there, rather than for a couple, although it proved adequate for our short stay. Some disadvantages: very hard for a second person to get around into bed as it is tightly squeezed up along the window (unless that person wants to clamber over the other person to get into bed!); no Wi-Fi available, nor a microwave (which, especially for short stays such as ours, would have been much more convenient), and there weren't any hand towel(s) provided in the bathroom (we found another clean bath towel in a drawer in the bedroom closet and used that as a hand towel) nor a bathmat (but this may have been a simple oversight). However, for our short, three days stay, we certainly found it convenient for our purposes. Barb & Richard J.

A great place to stay for a visit to Melbourne. Quiet and comfortable and well located.
Check in easy check out tad confusing as told 2 different instructions but overall great communication when needed a question answered and apartment was modern clean and comfortable

I absolutely adore this apartment! Honestly I feel like the pictures don’t do it justice.
The views from the huge windows are incredible and the balcony is a great place to stand and watch the city world go by.
The kitchen is well equipped and the decor in the apartment is unique and gives it a lovely feel.
Hopefully I will stay again someday. Thanks Lina!

Better guest preparation needed
Sofa bed didn’t have bedding initially but was delivered the next day. Sofa has a lot of stains and under the cushions it still had food snacks that weren’t vacuumed. Overall great location.

Convenient Place at Southern Cross
The after hours checking-in process was convenient and simple, and the hosts were easy to communicate with. The place is right across from Southern Cross station, and was an easy walk to the tram or even into the city. I had a later flight in the day and it was so cheap leaving my luggage at the nearby BeMyGuest Luggage Storage. The cleanliness of the place was questionable though. I’m sure the towels were washed, however were very stained. There were hairballs in the bathroom and crumbs left on the couch. Overall, I was grateful for the convenience of the place and would stay here again for that reason…I might just bring my own towels though.

2 ADULTS not 3 : Should be advertised for TWO
THE issue with the property is that it was advertised as suitable for 3 ADULTS. We booked for 3. However, upon arrival there was no provisions for the third person other than the couch! As we were late arrivals and it was Grand Final weekend our options were limited.
AS it was advertised as 3 adults the couch would be a fold out bed, as in many other places, but it was not. It was a fixed small 3 seater. There was a doona and a pillow left on the couch - no sheets were provided. So the person designated to sleep there had to sleep on a hard fabric surface with no protection from the dirtiness of the previous tenants etc...
TO make do, we had to pull off the cushions to make a bed of sorts on the floor. Upon lifting the cushions there was filth strewn under them (have pictures of). To add insult - upon getting some bed sheets from the cupboard, there was a sign stating the use of will incur a fine. We ignored this as personal comfort and hygenie of the sleeper was paramount. No fine was issued and that was a blessing.
THIS made our stay less than satisfactory!
HOWEVER the actual apartment was small and very tidy upon entering. It is alongside the elevators and we did not hear a thing from people moving about or using them - the place was super quiet.
AIR-conditioning worked perfectly. Bathroom very clean and serviceable.

Great location
TLDR: Find somewhere else to stay.
Toilet seat had been ripped off = not safe to use.
Bed slats were missing and the mattress fell through bed frame when we sat on it = not safe to use.
No microwave or coffee maker (contrary to the Amenities list).
Sofa and throw-rug we're dirty. Laundry still in the dryer.
These problems were very obvious, I suspect the apartment had not been cleaned properly or the owners new about the damage/problems and chose to ignore them
Called 8 times to ask for help (including through Stayz helpdesk) - no response until 11AM the next day. Had to chase/call the owners at every step, they appeared to do nothing until pushed. No real action until I demanded a refund.
Owner said they were getting a handyman to perform a repair, then cancelled, three times. This disrupted our arranged activities for the day. Told us we had to wait until 4pm the next day for repairs.
Owners only took us seriously when we told them we were looking for other accommodation & demanded a refund.
They charged us full price for the day and charged a cleaning fee (apartment had not been adequately cleaned when we moved in).
Owners stated they had returned the deposit three times, until I sent them banking evidence that the deposit was owning and threatened further action.
Stayz helpdesk tried to contact the owners, but refused to do anything to help regarding the funds/expense/damage. Very disappointed with the lack of help from Stayz and won't use this service again.
