About this property

StayCentral - Little Collins (CBD)

  • Little Collins — Two Levels, Right in the Thick of It
A unique, individual apartment tucked into a classic older-style CBD building — secure entrance, lift access, and a location that puts you in the middle of Melbourne's café, restaurant, theatre and shopping precinct without any of the compromises that usually come with "CBD apartment," like windows that don't open and views of an air-conditioning unit.

    The Space
82m² across two levels, with a balcony.

    What You Actually Get
Two queen bedrooms, one splittable into singles if the group can't agree on sharing, and enough opening windows and natural light that it doesn't feel like the sealed, beige box most CBD apartments settle for. Air conditioning still covers every main room for the days Melbourne genuinely can't decide what season it is. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and a coffee machine, because nobody wants to queue at 7am just to function. The open-plan living and dining area is properly comfortable, and there's a desk with a lamp and power point for anyone who actually needs to work rather than just tell people they might. A 60" Smart TV with Netflix covers the living area, and a 32" TV in the main bedroom means nobody has to negotiate remote control custody. Quality linen and towels are provided, and there's a stash of games and a book exchange for the nights you'd rather not doomscroll. The private balcony looks down over Russell Lane, giving you that proper inner-city buzz without having to actually be down in the thick of it, elbow to elbow with everyone else.

    The Location, Without the Spin
You're in one of the city's most sought-after pockets, surrounded by Melbourne's best shopping, dining and entertainment. Chinatown, Melbourne Central, Bourke Street Mall, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne Museum, Crown, Southbank Promenade and Federation Square are all within easy walking distance, so pace yourself. Tram stops on Swanston, Collins and Bourke are just 150m away, and travel within the free tram zone won't cost you a thing — handy for a quick trip to Queen Victoria Market, Docklands or the MCG when walking finally loses its appeal.

Where to Eat (We've Actually Been)
Maverick, Little Collins St — a playful, terrazzo-fitted café doing proper updated brekkie classics with Axil coffee. Open from 7am, for the genuinely organised among you.
Cleo, Russell St — Eastern Mediterranean flavours and old-world cooking techniques, rooftop dining at Hyde Melbourne Place. Dress like you mean it.
Gimlet, cnr Flinders Lane & Russell St — Andrew McConnell's grown-up "society restaurant," no faddish sandwiches, no Instagram bait. Just very good food.
The Hardware Societe — a longstanding CBD café favourite, good for a hearty breakfast that won't leave you hungry by 11.
DoDee Paidang, Little Collins St — descend to the basement for a big, no-nonsense Thai menu. The stairs are worth it.
    Parking, Sorted
There's no dedicated parking on site, but paid parking is conveniently available nearby for a small fee — you're in the CBD, after all, not a driveway suburb.

Perfect apartment in the perfect location.

The beautiful entrance is just the start of this immaculate apartment. The location is second to none and you are surrounded by amazing bars, (I highly recommend trying Bar Ampere in Russell Lane for their delicious food and wine) coffee shops and restaurants. The bedrooms are perfectly sized, with black-out curtains, and very comfortable beds with clean and fresh linen. The bathroom is immaculate, and the water pressure is spot-on. Using the drying function on the washing machine takes patience as the drying time is a lot longer than expected. Sitting on the balcony, the office block across the alleyway provides no privacy during business hours but did note that many of the workers closed their blinds for mutual benefit. In the evening the balcony is the perfect spot for an adult beverage. I will most definitely stay here again.
