About this property
Water Tower-Just Five Minutes To Historic Mendocino Village
Escape to this private, peaceful, 550 square feet water tower suite nestled amongst the redwoods. This is the perfect place for a romantic get-away or some downtime. Sleep under the overhead and inspired sunflower, lit by the rays of the morning sun. Best of all, you'll be surrounded by plenty of tall trees and ocean breezes, with a location 2.75 miles east of the village of Mendocino.
The private (exclusive) bathroom has a roomy shower, beautiful stone counters, custom cabinets built by a local fine woodworker, and radiant floor heating. The bedroom has the feel of a tree house, with a new, comfy, king-sized, dreamy, bed, good reading lights, 55" LG OLED HDR TV, with Apple TV. Wake up to the sound of birds in the trees and sunlight filtering through the redwoods.
On chilly mornings, warm up with a cup of coffee before heading out for the day. There is a downstairs entry room with all that you need to make that perfect cup of morning coffee, or tea, plus a small fridge for wine or leftovers (but, sorry, no cooking). The outdoor deck is set in a lovely Asian-style garden, a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors.
The Water Tower makes for an ideal home base for exploring the fabulous Mendocino Coast. You will undoubtedly want to visit the historic, quaint, and quirky coastal village and enjoy the many art galleries, restaurants, and shops. Take a walk on the Mendocino Headlands State Park and the majestic coastal bluffs of the Pacific Ocean. When you are done, wander back into town for a hot chocolate, or glass of wine at the historic Mendocino Hotel.
The area is known for ocean kayaking, hiking, and phenomenal mountain biking opportunities such as the beautiful Big River trail. You're also close to Russian Gulch State Park and the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse recreational areas for further adventures.
At the end of a day of adventuring along the Mendocino Coast, relax and enjoy a glass of wine from one of the many wonderful local wineries.
Winter is a great time to visit the Mendocino area and experience the winter storms and watch the whales migrate from Alaska to Mexico to give birth to their babies.
Guest space is in a converted water tower, and is separate from (but attached to) the historic lumber bunkhouse which has been converted into owner's current residence. Many acres of fir and redwood forest are just outside the doors.
This space is not appropriate for children, or people who smoke, or pets, or guests who need to heat/cook food. VRBO requires that we ask you to ‘clean up as you go’ ( Thanks!).
A personal vehicle is totally necessary in this area. No public transportation worthy of the name!

Mendocino is my ‘happy place’& I wanted to celebrate ringing in the new year there! The novelty of staying in a water tower interested me & I was in luck booking this place. It was minutes from downtown Mendocino & yet secluded in location farther up the road. The views of the trees were so calming.
The property was very very clean. The bed very comfotable. We forgot our pillows and the pillows provided were excellent. Normally I can't sleep without my pillow, I slept with no problems ! Very quite and relaxing trip. The trail to the woods on the property was beautiful with lots of ferns and redwoods. The hosts were excellent also. We will definitly stay here again.

Everything about this vrbo was excellent. The owner greeted us upon arrival to acquaint us with the place; amazing details making every need met. Loved having two levels and beautiful outside sitting area. It went way beyond meeting expectations!
It was a very, very nice place to stay. It was as accurate as the pictures. The Innis were very sweet, very nice people greeted us in and said goodbye when we left. Thank you. The redwoods were at arms reach in there yard. We even had the Deer family visit us too. David & Loretta
Overall…fantastic. Terrific hosts, lovely setting, so very refreshing. Close to all the great restaurants and coastal hiking. And the weather just happened to be perfect. We will def be repeat guests. J&J
A beautiful mix of luxury (indoor hot tub, huge bathroom, very comfortable bed, everything well-kept) and the outdoors (surrounding trees, no noise, deer in the yard). The friendly host gave a quick tour and food recs at check-in. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Mendocino!
We had a lovely stay and enjoyed all the amenities. It is very quiet and remote yet so close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We would definitely return again.
Beautiful room nestled in tall trees. Quiet and relaxing location. Modern hot tub and beautiful decorative bedroom. Close to restaurants and art shops. We loved our stay and fully recommend.
We wanted a quiet place near the coast and found this spot. Lovely 2 day stay. We found a lot of places to visit in Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Wish we had more time to hike and bike and kayak.
The property was beautiful!! The hot tub was amazing and the room was cozy and had the really cool ceiling feature!! The host was friendly and showed us where everything was. We will totally stay again!!!
This place is absolutely lovely. The outside is in a sunny spot in the woods with deep quiet. The inside is clean and beautiful and has everything you could possibly need for a wonderful stay! The hosts are lovely people
It was very well put together, very relaxing, in a beautiful place with tons to do and wonderful hiking / restaurants near by. We will definitely search this out again for future trips. The only room for improvement would be to get more of a firm bed, though it was still pretty nice.
The place was so cute and had everything we needed for the weekend. Filtered water, sparkling water, heated floor, lively gardens, easy location. The bed was a little lumpy but there’s a featherbed over it to help. We will be back again!
The location is convenient to Mendocino (really just down one road), but you definitely need a car. It is a beautiful spot with a fun set up for the bedroom in the water tower structure. The hot tub is inside, but there is a little outside area that you can sit in that is sweet and peaceful. We did not need it, but if you’re looking for more of a living room space to hang out in, that doesn’t really exist in this space. Overall a great stay!
It’s was a most splendid location and the owners were amazing
One of the keys for me was restroom upstairs
No walking down in middle of the night
Everything was simply amazing
Clean and spectacular views
It’s like being in a mountain retreat plus the hot tub

We had an amazing stay. They think of everything. They had a little pint of half & half and a bottle of mineral water in the fridge. There was extra towels, coffee, a chaulk board with suggestions on where to go and what to eat. The bed was soft and my wife and I slept really well, it was hard to get out of bed. It was a long afternoon, dealing with a nail in our tire and all the tire shops near clear lake were getting ready to close or too busy. We finally got to Menocino a couple hours later than we planned. Seeing the property and our room was a great surprise to my wife on our 1 yr anniversary. The bedroom was decorated beautifully. Rennie also helped me find a tire shop in Ft Bragg to get the slow leak in our tire fixed. This place wont disappoint if you want to get away from everything. We love this place!
My fiancée and I adored this property! Its just 5 minutes or so from town, quite and tranquil. Rennie and Hope were lovely, provided us with filtered water, coffee/tea and had an ADORABLE microwave/mini fridge set up. Mosquitoes are totally normal but also suck. We had bug repellent and there was a repellent coil on the back porch so it didnt bug us much. 10/10 will absolutely return! Thank you so so much!

This was a very magical stay for us. My boyfriend and I decided to take a small first time vacation together and I chose Mendocino. The Watertower is both private and accessible. No wheelchairs, so if you're not independently mobile choose somewhere else. The accommodations are minimal but perfect! The private jacuzzi is very powerful and the shower is big enough for two! And they give you terry robes to use while there. The bed was super comfy and they furnished a fan, which is a huge deal for me! The TV was a very nice picture and the sound system was lit. There a toilet in the freaking bedroom! Which came in really handy. But if your shy like me? There's also a downstairs potty. The gardens are meticulously landscaped and the attention to detail in everything the owners have done is top notch. I highly recommend this place! It's incredibly romantic and will forever be in my memory along with my one true love!
