Lovely hotel
Lovely little hotel. Rooms small but clean and comfy bed. Pool area lovely however could do with some soft music playing during the day outside as it’s super quiet. Breakfast was average not much selection. Restaurant was lovely, great pizzas and great wine and the most amazing views.

Was only there for a night but well looked after by the staff. Room was clean and tidy and everything there I needed. Would recommend this hotel.

The staff is very friendly. Quiet hotel. Not too far from the airport. Excellent breakfast. Lovely restaurant on site and the hotel is near a lovely beach.

If I could give this hotel higher than 5* I would. What a great, unique smaller property set in a great location above the beautiful bay of Cala n Porter - its a family run hotel and the staff are all amazing and all work so hard. The hotel rooms and public areas are all extremely clean and well maintained. Plenty of space around the lovely pool too. We loved the breakfasts - always lots of choice and home made specials. We really enjoyed this area, you are really close (15/20 minutes from both the Airpport and Mahon Town - which is well worth a visit) Also the beach at Cala n Porter is the best in the area. Fantastic stay and we will be back for sure, we loved this hotel.

Lovely hotel
Really lovely hotel, great location and lovely rooms. Staff were friendly and the breakfast had a good selection. The pool looked lovely but wasn't warm enough during our visit to use it. The hotel was very peaceful and we would definitely use it again.

It was a nice hotel with a good Italian restaurant and owner. Our bathroom flooded when we had a shower and then smelt like sewage. The area was dead but maybe that’s because we came out of season. Very clean and quiet for relaxing :) xxx

hi thanks for the commentary, for our restaurant, a little water came out of the shower only because, the protective rubber was not wax, it was only shower water, but in Menorca I am sorry for the times to deliver sound absurd, and we no longer had rooms, however the cleaning girls are always ready to help customers I send them a greeting Roberto

Lovely hotel, amazing staff.
Perfect location, great staff. Clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was just right and the restaurant is great. Great restaurants within walking distance and the beach is gorgeous. Great for the bum walking up and down those stairs to the beach!!

Very comfy and relax!!! If you are looking for calm and serenity this is the perfect place for! I will probably go back very soon ;-) Service is great! I would suggest for a tiny better cleaning but the overall was great! ;-)

Small intimate adult only hotel with an amazing restaurant overlooking a stunning Cala n Porter bay. Only on bed and breakfast which was fresh, plenty of it and the staff could not do more if asked. Only a short two minute walk to the restaurant and bars. Rooms, there are only 26 are spotless air conditioned and have the use of a fridge!! €2 for a beach towel and only €2 if you want to change it!! A free parasol to take to the beach. We don’t choose places lightly but wow what a find!! Thank you Sa Barrera

A great adults only hotel in a great location. The cliff top location allows for lovely views over the bay and countryside. You can even see the start of the Cami de Cavells walking route from the hotel. There are a variety of local restaurants withing only a couple minutes walk from the hotel. Overall, a great hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay on the island of Menorca.

Lovely peaceful stay in an ideally situated location. A warm welcome and great breakfast every day! Small hotel with just 3 floors, but be aware that there is no lift so if you have mobility concerns it would be best to request the ground floor. They specify adults only.

A hidden gem
Lovely hotel team. Lovely room. Very clean. Street side is very quiet (unless you're sat on the balcony at night, but listening to the local singers if fantastic). The pool was warm and very quiet. No towels on sunbeds (apart from one couple, but not a problem). Nice, simple, freshly cooked breakfast. Lovely views from the outside tables. Small hotel (26 rooms?) which was a perfect size for us. Will I return? Yes.

4 night stay with husband. Staff lovely. Good adult only hotel. Our bedroom was quite small and dated but generally public areas are very welcoming. Breakfast excellent and we had one evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious.

Very relaxing,,close to the beach .
Easy check in/ check out. Staff were very helpful and friendly but gave us plenty of privacy. The hotel is clean and comfortable, ,good air conditioning,; good shower and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was pleasant and nice eating outside by the pool.

This was an overnight stay for myself and wife prior to taking up a villa in resort.We were well received. The room was clean and basic. It met our needs for an overnight stay.Room 203 overlooked some private apartments and the entrance to the hotel was directly below.

A tranquil hotel in the heart of the village
We were guests for a week at this lovely hotel. The hardworking Roberto & his team were very welcoming and helpful. The pool area was immaculately clean & neatly landscaped with very nice sun beds. Our room was very clean, had everything we needed & the large bed was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend and will return!

this is a lovely quiet hotel which is close to restaurants and bars . staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. beach can be reached by road or down steps which are hard work if it is very hot. not for you if you are not able to walk well

Menorca is quite highly priced compared to other Mediterranean towns I found. Room was absolutely tiny (couldn't fit my ordinary sized suitcase on the floor - had to have it on my bed!) Hotel pool was very average. However, beautiful cliff top view. Timothy was a lovely staff member, as were all of the female staff. Other male staff not so polite. Beach was quite far to walk (cliff) but view of beach was very nice. Breakfast and dinner were rather poor.

Perfect Stay in Calan Porter
Our lovely room had a balcony and was overlooking the sea. It had air conditioning and the most comfortable bed ever. The food was wonderful and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect - looking forward to next year!

Nothing is too mucb trouble for Roberto and his team. One of the most comfortable holiday beds we have ever slept in. The hotel is an oasis in a very English based resort

Rooms rather small, not enough shade around the pool. Lovely staff, can't do enough for you. Pasta and pizza wonderful, rest of menu a little restricted, but there is only one chef who is very good.

no double beds at this hotel
Paid extra for a double room on Expedia rather than buying the twin - owner informed us when we finally managed to speak to him that he doesn't keep any double beds as most of his guests are German or Italian and prefer twin beds. Just be aware that you won't get a double bed here, even if it is advertised as such. Owner was not at all sympathetic about this, in fact he was the only disappointing staff member. Also beds were hard and uncomfortable and you had to pay per day for the use of a fridge in your room and to take towels to the beach. Not very welcoming, but at least you could only see the nice part of Cala n Porta from this hotel - stunning beach, town has NOTHING of Spain / Minorca about it. Won't be going back - much nicer places in Minorca to visit.

Great tropical getaway for adults
The other hotels along main stretch through Cala en porter did not seem to be able to hold a candle to sa barrera. Plaza azul was directly across the street from Sa Barrera and it looked lrun down in comparison. The in-ground pool, lounge chairs and palm trees offered a relaxing and scenic getaway. The beach is literally on a staircase away, well within walking distance. The dining terrace had a to die for view of the beach inlet. The staff is more than helping willing to answer any and all questions concerning local bus routes, local restarant reviews and helping with arrangements for local activities such as horseback riding, boat excursions, scuba diving, and transportation to local attractions such as the popular city of Mahon. My room was air conditioned with a great bathroom equipped with numerous complementary toiletries. Most rooms had a balcony seating area with pool/ocean views. I could not be happier with my stay and if I should ever find my way back to Menorca I will most certainly be making my way back to Sa Barrera for my hotel needs.
