We celebrated our 20th anniversary this past weekend here and it was perfect! It was the cutest little home ever. Everything you need! We spent the majority of our time on the screened in porch! The swinging daybed was fabulous. We really enjoyed the hot tub. It was amazing to see the deer graze around us. We will definitely be back!

The property was beautiful and very clean. The screened porch was our favorite and where most of our time was spent. We saw deer daily as they passed thru. The property is not far from town or the state parks/desoto falls. Pizza from Mentone mkt was delicious as well as breakfast at Hatter cafe and dinner at the Wildflower.

Anniversary Getaway

Very pleased with our stay. The cabin was cozy and spacious for a couples weekend. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and bed swing.

I had a wonderful time here. It's very quiet and relaxing. I had a small issue with the fireplace so I reached out the host. She responded quickly and with relavent information along with guiding me to the manuals. You can tell from the cleanliness of the place that they really care about their properties. She talked to me like I was a person and not just someone paying to stay. Thru out my stay her responses were always very quick! The screened in patio has a wonderful swing bed along with a fireplace that made the bed that much more comfortable and inviting. The hot tub was clean and very warm and relaxing. I give this place full 5 stars and I will definitely be back! Try it out, you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful stay!

Relaxing and peaceful stay. The back porch is the best!!! Love this place. 2nd time staying here. Outside needs a good pressure washing/cleaning.

Birthday getaway

Celebrated a big birthday and it was a fabulous place to relax. Very convenient to DeSoto Falls and Little River Canyon the hiking was great!! The porch swing and hot tub really made the trip special!

What a great cabin and setting!

We'll definitely be back. The cabin was perfect! Very clean, great places to just relax and enjoy the wildlife. We saw lots of deer while we chilled at the fire-pit.

Great weekend trip

Overall, enjoyed the cabin. Very cozy. Enjoyed the screened in porch and fire pit. Only downside was the cleanliness, lots of cobwebs and towels and rugs were left in the washer when we got there.

Perfect Getaway

The cabin is exactly as advertised. The fireplace and porch swing made for a romantic evening. Had a great time during our stay and hope to plan a return trip in the future.

Happy place !

It was a nice get away, clean and cozy. We will be back, my husband & I fell in love with everything about it. Highly recommended . We felt like we were at home. The host was easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Beautiful Cabin!

Our first trip to Mentone for a family wedding. The cabin was beautiful. The only reason for not giving it a 10/10 was due to non-working gas fireplace on the screened-in porch and the hot tub was not operational, due to issues and had been drained. But the Hostess was great to work with. The cabin is equipped with everything you might need. This area is our new favorite place to come visit. Quaint shops and yummy places to eat.

The property was just as described and easy to access. It was private and we could only see 1 cabin from ours and it was far enough away to still feel private. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and have recommended the Southern Star to two friends already!

Girls Weekend

My friend and I stayed with my 1year old to have a girls weekend. We spent most of our time on the back porch lying on the daybed swing. The linens were clean and the property overall was very welcoming. We had a great time and didn’t want to leave.

Everything we needed or might have needed was there. The blankets and towels smelled so fresh and clean! There is nothing I would change about this cabin. And I had zero complaints.

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at Southern Star. The proximity of the cabin to all the things we wanted to do was great! TN, AL and GA all within a short drive. Cathleen was a wonderful host. She genuinely cares about the guest experience and that speaks volumes.Desoto Falls has lovely hikes,Cloudland Canyon waterfall hikes (stair climbing galore), Lost Falls is near by also.Chattanooga is just a 50 min drive and there are endless attractions there. Raccoon Mountain Cavern Crystal Palace tour was way more enjoyable than Ruby Falls for us. Rock City is always fun.If you love nature and just exploring this is a great area to stay in.

Perfection

The house was spotless and Cathleen responded promptly when I messaged her with a problem. Hot tub was clean and well maintained. We will definitely be staying longer next time to take full advantage of the screened in porch!!
