I propose you this totally independent and comfortable accommodation surrounded by nature and water at 10 mn walk from the city center. Longer stays are possible, all the equipment is present. Formerly the sailor's cabin, Pixxl has been totally renovated to welcome travelers wishing to live their stay in Metz in a different way. Nothing resembles a classic apartment but all the expected comfort is present. NOTE: In some areas, the ceilings are low and may be uncomfortable for taller children. Thank you for taking this information into account. A private walkway leads you to the original cabin. Very bright, you can have a meal there. A few steps down you will find the fully equipped kitchenette and next to it, the bathroom with bath/shower. A few more steps down, the bedroom / living room with a 140cm bed, a bench, armchair, closet, TV and Wifi. Just above, a nice wooden terrace to enjoy the view on the canal.

A perfect stay in Metz

We had a perfect stay on the big orange houseboat from Gill. The boat have all necessary things on it and it's very beautiful. Unfortunately we booked only one night. The next stay will be longer.

What a great place to stay!

We loved staying on the big orange barge! It was cute and fun and peaceful. Very small, but well furnished. We even managed to cook dinner for 4 in the tiny kitchen, and we crowded into the wheelhouse to eat. We did not invite the guests to stay overnight though, that would have been too much! Gilles was very nice, communicative, flexible and responsive. I highly recommend staying here (if you're no taller than 5'10"!) for a unique stay near the center of Metz. Lovely walks along the canal, both towards town and away.

Sehr gemütlicher Teil eines großen Hausboots. Für ein Wochenende ideal, für längere Aufenthalte wird es etwas eng, vor allem in der Küche. Der Wohn/Schlafbereich ist mit Liebe eingerichtet und sehr gemütlich. Ein Lidl ist 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt, Parkplätze sind 50-100m vom Boot entfernt und kostenlos. Der Vermieter ist super nett und sehr hilfsbereit und lebt ebenfalls auf dem vorderen Teil des Bootes. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Un lieu atypique

On a passé un très bon séjour dans la péniche de Gilles, il a été de très bon conseil pour les visites de Metz. La péniche est très bien placée, pas très loin du centre ville et pourtant elle est coupée de tout, en pleine nature ! Un petit parking gratuit est juste à côté, mais on peut faire quasiment tout à pied (cathédrale, musées, restaurants...) Bref, je recommande vivement !

Het gastenverblijf ligt heel rustig en op wandelafstand van het centrum. Men krijgt een goede indruk van de wijze waarop de mensen vroeger op een schip hebben geleefd (een speciale ervaring). Voor ons was het zeker geen probleem, maar de trappen horen er uiteraard wel bij. Jammer voor ons was het vrij koud waardoor we geen gebruik hebben kunnen maken van het terras (die er wel heel aantrekkelijk uitzag). Vriendelijke gastheer! Wij hebben er alleszins van genoten

sehr schöne Atmoaphäre

wir haben 3 Nächte auf Gilles Hausboot komfortabel und bequem verbracht. Es hat an Nichts gefehlt, alles was man braucht ist vorhanden, liebevoll eingerichtet und absolut sauber. Die Lage des Bootes ist optimal, die Umgebung wunderschön. Wir haben es sehr genossen.
