Not the 5-Star Luxury Resort Advertised
We chose Princess Grand for our 10th wedding anniversary and paid extra for Platinum benefits and the highly advertised kids' club. Unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations.
The resort looks impressive on arrival, and our concierge Rahiem was outstanding, but almost everything else disappointed. Service was inconsistent, drinks regularly arrived after meals, and staff repeatedly asked about my wife's allergy without ever communicating it properly between teams, creating a genuine safety concern.
Our upgraded suite looked great at first glance, but closer inspection revealed poor finishing, paint splatters, maintenance issues and housekeeping that rarely went beyond making the bed. Toiletries were never replenished despite Platinum benefits promising upgraded amenities.
Food quality was average at best, with many dishes appearing pre-made and little flexibility for simple requests. The kids' menu never changed during our 9-night stay.
The biggest disappointment was the kids' club. Activities were repetitive, poorly organised and often involved children sitting and waiting rather than participating. Staff frequently disciplined young children for normal behaviour, and many advertised features turned out to be decorative rather than usable. We never felt comfortable leaving our daughter there unsupervised.
Loose pool tiles, construction defects, and highly inappropriate comments from entertainment staff. Avoid.
