We enjoyed our stay at Charles' cottage and appreciated the information he provided regarding the area. He was a great host and responded promptly when we had questions. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the fireplace on chilly mornings!
This cottage in Midpines is spacious and very clean. It was a perfect layout for my husband, adult daughter and myself to vacation together to enjoy quality time together, as well as have our own private spaces. We stayed at Charles's place to explore Yosemite, and Charles provided some excellent recommendations on things to see and do in Yosemite, as well as in the area. Charles was excellent in communication and providing details of what to expect, both in advance and during our stay. I wish that the hour-long drive to Yosemite Valley were shorter, but it is unlikely that you will find a free-standing home that is any closer. (The length of the drive was accurately described in the listing). There are some motels that are closer to Yosemite, but with that comes the trade-off of the kitchen and more space. I highly recommend!
Beautiful home, richly appointed, modern and spacious. Property is nestled in the foothills off the western entrance to Yosemite and provided panoramic night views of the Milky Way. Very secluded off the main road and quiet. Charles was very informative about Yosemite having been an employee of the park for 40 years. His insights helped make our stay in the park even more enjoyable. We highly recommend staying here.
The cottage was a perfect place to recover from strenuous hikes. We cooked in for breakfast and dinner everyday. Fully stocked kitchen and outdoor gas grill was ideal for us.
We highly recommend this host and his property!
This property was immaculately clean and well taken care of. The owner is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve come across with regard to the Yosemite area and all that it provides. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay.
The house was perfect. It was immaculate and a great location to visit Yosemite. The owner was tremendously helpful with everything. He even gave me tips to help me plan our trip!
The property was about hour drive on a scenic road to Yosemite N.P. The property was very clean and Charles offered alot of good advice on Yosemite and where to get gas and groceries. The kitchen and master bath were amazing and well stocked with everything. The master bed was just ok and the couch was not comfortable for us but everything else was amazing.
We enjoyed our stay at Yosemite Country Cottage. The property was both immaculate and extremely well equipped. Communication with Charles was excellent from the time of booking. Very comfortable accommodations and a great place if you're visiting Yosemite National Park!
Great property, excellent host, awesome experiences!
The property was perfect for our stay in Yosemite. Charles was a great host...helped us plan our trip to ensure we experienced the best of Yosemite. He was very communicative before and during our stay. The property was extremely clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. We would definitely stay at this property again! Charles and the cottage are gems!
The cottage was wonderful. It is close to the highway (but there is no noise) and the directions took use directly there with no confusion. Peace and quiet are the primary words for description. The couches and beds are comfortable. We had all we needed for meals in the kitchen. The primary bathroom was great, we both loved the large shower. The owner was very helpful with tips for visiting Yosemite NP. This was very helpful with timing on arrival to the park, and places to be and see. The house was spotless. We appreciated the labels on light switches and cabinets.
Spending days in Yosemite is easy when using this rental cottage as a starting point. Rooms are large and master bedroom bed is very comfortable (did not use second bedroom). Having two bathrooms is always a big plus for us. Level parking makes loading and unloading easy too. Very clean, private, and quiet.
About 45 minute drive west of El Portal entrance of Yosemite.Charles was great-lots of good suggestions. Little three bedroom, two bath house was neat, clean, very well furnished. 7 miles to town of Mariposa.(stores, gas, restaurants, etc) Would do it again
Wonderful place to stay for are visit to Yosemite National Park . The Cottage was are home away from home . Well stock with all the essentials . Place was Clean and checking in and out was easy . Charles was a huge plethora of information that make you at ease , in visiting the surrounding area and Yosemite .We love the location and view of the cottage in the mountains . This Florida couple can't wait to return ! Thanks Charles
Close to Yosemite! If you need accessible accommodation this is it. This place is fully accessible and has an awesome master bath.
The house is very nicely decorated. Kitchen is well equipped. Charles is a wealth of knowledge on the park and surrounding area and most other national parks as well. Can’t say enough good things about this place. When I come back this will be the first place I look to stay
This is a nice place that is pretty convenient to Yosemite. Everything was good except we felt like there were so many rules, we did not make use of all that was at the home. I understand as we have rental property ourselves, but these were over the top. It is not like we were there all that much, so it really was alright.
A very nice and clean 3 bedroom that is 100% wheelchair accessible with a European style roll in shower/bathroom. We ate dinner all 3 nights at the house using the grill and the oven. We did a couple of laundry loads and had a good time. The TV is app driven so if you have netflix or another subscription service you are good to go - also the amount of time we actually spent at the home was pretty limited to the evenings as we were in the area to check out Yosemite. There is a binder on the coffee table with a lot of info about the area
We reserved the Yosemite Country cottage for a quick two-night weekend visit to Yosemite. Charles contacted me shortly after the reservation was confirmed with more information about the cottage and the area. As a former Yosemite Park employee, he is a wealth of knowledge about the area. The cottage is about an hour from the Valley floor through a beautiful waterfall dotted pass. We didn't mind the drive. Charles sent over directions and check in information prior to our arrival and everything went smoothly. Quick note - access to the cottage is up a steep driveway. Our rental Altima struggled a bit with the ascent, but we prevailed.
The cottage is exceptionally clean and exactly as pictured. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is adequately stocked with pots, pans, etc. There were pods for the dishwasher and washing machine, and coolers for day use. We brought provisions with us, as Charles recommended, and are glad we did. There's not much nearby except deer. Which we saw our first evening, to our delight.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to return to Yosemite sometime soon.
Charles was an excellent host. House is very conveniently located for traveling in and out of Yosimite National Park. You are also close to Mariposa where you can grab groceries, restaurants and shops.
Charles had us ready for our adventures each day with a great list of information for best practices to maximize your visit to the park, and provided a cooler for you to use while you are there. Everything was great!
