Beautiful view
Lovely chalet with a beautiful view of the valley. Short drive up to ski hills and into town. There are lots of interesting walks from the chalet door.

Lovely location during summer/winter
We had a lovely time in the chalet even without any snow. The size was great for a 8 person party and the view from the balcony incredible. Some upgrades to the appliances are necessary, the dishwasher was broken, sink clogged and not enough glasses/plates so we had to do a lot of hand washing. Also the floors were creaking a lot(I know an old chalet) so difficult to sleep if anyone wanted to go ul and down the stairs. Overall a good experience

Hi Lavinia, Glad you had a lovely time. Sorry about lack of snow in the Alps this year and for the Miele dishwasher - it won't work when kitchen sink gets blocked. But fixed now 🙂 And yes its a lovely 100% traditional log chalet upstairs, so creaks a bit! best wishes, Nigel

Fantastic place to spend your holiday
Traditional chalet with beautiful view over mountains and valley. It is not just a holiday home but you step in a wel cared and beloved home. Nothing better than sitting on the terrace/balcony and enjoy the view, watching the birds and squirrels. The chalet itself is well equiped with everything you could need. You find all the information you need on the village, things to do and to visit.

A home from home with bells and whistles!
Charming chalet with fantastic views! The chalet has everything you need with a hot tub, hammocks, well equipped kitchen, outdoor pizza oven... Lovely walks from your door into the forests and mountains, not all long, not all steep! We were a family group of 5 adults and had a wonderful time relaxing in this idyllic spot.

Excellent no-overlooking chalet with lovely garden, hottub and stunning view!
We had an AMAZING stay in chalet le Moulin. It is the most cosy chalet we ever stayed. It had a stunning view of the giffre valley and all amenities! There even passes a fox by every evening, just to point out what kind af natural environment it is!

Charming chalet made with hearts!
We were about to launch a contest amongst us, to count how many hearts (decorations) there were in the chalet. Not possible as they were hidden discreetly everywhere, and up to the last day, we were still discovering new hearts! The chalet is truly a labor of love from the owners, and lots of thoughts and care were put in to it. Coming from the cities, we were awestruck by the beautiful nature and peaceful paysage around us (needless to say many fabulous outdoor activities can be done all seasons), as well as the tasty fresh water directly from the taps! Starting the hot-tub took some skills and time, but it was sooooo worth it to have a mid-night bath under the clear skies (5 of us took the bath together:-))) !! Sadly, the weather was a bit unstable during our stay, but we were able to cook up many good foods from their very well equipped kitchen, and watched some good videos with their excellent Wifi. The chalet can host 8 adults comfortably and the pictures shown here reflect the truth. We were all grateful to have spent few days in this cozy chalet, and look forward to our next visit. Thank You to Nigel & Irene for sharing their little paradise with us!

Serenely peaceful and beautiful after being in lockdown in the city so long. Lots of mountain walks, snow and sledging, and the chalet has everything you could wish for. We will miss the log fire.

Rustig gelegen chalet met een magnifiek uitzicht
We waren de eerste gasten na opening van de grenzen op 15 juni 2020 (na lockdown). We hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf in alle rust. De chalet en tuin bieden een fantastisch uitzicht. Mooie maar zware wandelingen gemaakt met vaak prachtige vergezichten. Ook de hond heeft genoten van de overweldigende natuur. Wat voor ons wel ontbrak in de chalet was airco, zeker in een chalet voor dit budget. Het werd op zeker ogenblik erg warm en dat was duidelijk te voelen binnenin. Verder: topverblijf! En supervriendelijke en uiterst beschikbare eigenaar!

Chalet le Moulin exceeded our expectations. The views are simply amazing and ever changing with the weather. The chalet is huge and beautifully presented. Everywhere you look there is something quirky that catches your eye. We cooked at the chalet every night and there is all the kitchen equipment you would ever need. The WIFI is super fast and my boys enjoyed the big TV on the mezzanine. The skiing both at Sommand and Praz de lys is perfect for my beginners but there is plenty of interesting stuff for those who need more of a challenge. We would love to stay again!!!

New year break
We had a fantastic time Nigel could not of been more helpful. Lots of walks and sledding. We saw in the new year in the hot tub watching the fireworks in the valley. We were totally relaxed by the time we left for home.

Just as fabulous second time round
This was our second visit to Chalet le Moulin in Mieussy and I hope it won’t be our last! We love the house and the surrounding area and enjoyed some of our favourite walks from our last visit plus the new ones we tried. There is a lot to do in this area and the house is a great base and the perfect place to relax and enjoy stunning views of the mountains. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fabulous holiday and superb chalet. It is in a wonderful peaceful, rural location a bit away from the town but in easy reach with stunning views of the mountains. The chalet is very well equipped with everything one could need and it was excellent to have so many guide books, walking maps and local information, as well as personal information about walks from the chalet and favourite routes all so well described. First class communication and contact at all times, the information prior to arrival was faultless and so helpful. The walks are second to none around the area and there are flowers in profusion - I have never seen so many or so many species. Very special indeed. I cannot recommend this wonderful chalet highly enough for a peaceful break if you like the mountains and walking in summer. And thank you so much for allowing dogs - what a treat to be able to find somewhere dog-friendly. A big plus. Thank you so much Nigel and Irene, what a special place for a most relaxing break.

The views are absolutely stunning, the house is full of char and great location from skiing resorts.
Stunning location with views you just can’t get bored of! The house is full of character and slept two families of 4 in comfort. Lots of quirky bits like the log fired hot tub, pizza ovens and tree house. We skied from Somand which is a nice family friendly area about ten mins straight up the hill. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend. The only reason I’d say don’t book is that it doesn’t get booked up next time we want to come!

A perfect week skiing with family in a beautiful location!
Gorgeous chalet in peaceful rural retreat, we needed our snow chains this week though in the swathes of snow! Log fire, cost evenings after days out on the slopes - a terrific holiday place and plenty of information given by the owner.

Wonderful chalet. Kind and generous owners. Perfect communication.
Firstly, Nigel and Irene were incredibly helpful in their communication and help with our trip. We had a difficult run up to what was our first ever Christmas away, and first skiing trip for our 3 little boys. Nigel and Irene were sensitive and caring - beyond what was needed. Thank you. Chalet was wonderful! Home from home, with everything needed, including great recommendations for eating, shopping, walking, skiing and general logistics. There was games for the kids, sledges to use, basic food and plenty of linen, blankets, towels and wood. The location was perfect for Sammoens resort, which we found quiet and perfect for the boys, who loved their first lessons. Our only comments for others are, make sure you have a 4 x 4 or all-wheel drive in winter - we got stuck twice on the drive/approach road, but had a 9 seater front wheel drive bus! So at least in a large part my fault. Norbert, the local man that looks after the Chalet was quite literally a genius and guardian angel! He always answered the phone when I panicked, and got us out both times. Final comment, 6 days wasn't enough - we had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your home. Chocolate box chalet that's scrummy enough to fall in love with.
We stayed at le chalet moulin on route back from our Spanish home heading for Calais. In January 2017 Our search was simply for a chalet, away from crowds, totally peaceful and just a short drive to any ski lift. We found it here at chalet moulin. It snowed the days before we arrived so the Drive through the woods on the track was awesome. Ours at the time were the only ones visible. Once inside the fires were quickly lit using logs from the conveniently stacked pile by the door. It quickly took hold and along with the underfloor heating we were very warm and cosy. I liked the fact that we could see the twinkling lights of the village lower in the valley and yet had no desire or need to close any curtains. Also the stack of games supplied took us back to squabbling children insisting it was each of us who won. The kitchen, well what can I say. I loved it. I felt at home with the log oven and the ray of pans and pots were perfect for any dish we rustled up. All ingredients from the nearby supermarket which in itself was a joy to walk round. Meats all looked good and fresh along with its array of vegetables. The beds were comfy and we chose the downstairs four poster which was huge. We didn't use any of the tv or DVD which were supplied but chose to spend our evening chatting and sampling the local wines ( well recommended) The ski resorts, and we changed each day we're all very different from Les Gets being very popular and busy to Sameons which was very quiet. It is difficult to chose my favourite, I loved them all. No queues but that was because it was January...very quiet. Our hosts Nigel was attentive and informative, he clearly wants his guests to feel at home. He relayed snippets of useful informations. Internet..was even faster than mine here in rural Shropshire. We didn't use the hot tub but I guess that was pure idleness on our part. On the whole I would love to take my grandsons, they could explore safety both the woods, area and the tree house, non of which we did due to the snow depth. If your happy to drive to the slopes, or want peace and quiet then you won't go far wrong to choose chalet moulin

Un chalet de rêve !
Nous avons séjourné en famille de 5 personnes avec un chien. Tout était très bien. Bon accès au chalet. Cuisine, sanitaires, lingerie, tout est très pratique, propre, et agréable. Bonnes literies. Deux points forts incontournables pour cette location : la décoration intérieure, authentique, boisée, pleine de charme, chaleureuse et confortable. Et le plus remarquable est la vue sur la vallée, assis sur la terrasse éclairée du matin au soir, ou dans le salon au bruit de la cheminée. Les alentours sont riches en randonnées et somptueux paysages. L'environnement est vraiment calme et apaisant, loin de la foule mais près de tout (pour faire du ski, de la luge ou ... les courses!) Le chalet possède en plus un large terrain très confortable, ouvert sur la vallée. Nous remercions chaleureusement les hôtes pour leur disponibilité et leur confiance.

Schöne Woche verbracht
Das Haus hat eine sehr schöne Lage und ist gut ausgestattet. Wir haben eine schöne Woche verbracht. Leider konnten wir den "hot tub" nicht mit Wasser füllen, da die Wasserleitungen defekt sind. Hier wäre dringend Handlungsbedarf. Bei so schönem Wetter, war es sehr schade den "hut tub" nicht benutzen zu können.

We had a lovely summer holiday here. If you want privacy, lovely views (Mont Blanc!!), and a great house for relaxing, walks, and nice quiet evenings, than this is the place to be! The owners were very friendly, and they send us good information about the house, the villages, and some walks. We highly recommend this lovely house for a summer stay!

Wundervoller Familien-Herbsturlaub
Das Chalet war ein Traum für uns als 5-köpfige Familie. Wanderungen direkt vom Haus, gemütliche Kaminabende bei Regenwetter, schöne Märkte in der Umgebung, eine toll ausgestattete Küche, sogar mit echtem Holzofen (wer mag - es gibt natürlich auch einen "normalen" Herd und Ofen ;-)), viele Spiele und Beschäftigungs-möglichkeiten für die Kinder. Wir haben eine tolle, abwechslungsreiche und sehr entspannte Herbstwoche verbracht und freuen uns auf eine Wiederkommen. Die Kommunikation mit Nigel war super.

Un chalet incroyable entouré de verdure
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce chalet parfaitement équipé et très confortable. La vue sur les montagnes est magnifique ; il y a un grand jardin où les enfants peuvent s'amuser avec tout ce qu'il faut pour des activités extérieures. Les propriétaires ainsi que Norbert sont très disponibles. Nous reviendrons sans hésitation pour un séjour plus long. Je recommande vivement pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis. Il y a de nombreuses promenades à faire aux alentours du chalet. Merci beaucoup pour l'accueil ! Petit plus : les animaux sont acceptés.

Séjour très agréable
Le chalet dispose d’une vue magnifique et dégagée. Il est vraiment tout équipé et ne manque de rien. Les prestations sont au delà de ce que l’on peut trouver par ailleurs. Les balades à proximité sont reposantes et des balades dans la région peuvent être également vraiment impressionnantes. Nous avons même pu voir une biche de la fenêtre… tout était parfait ! Merci !!

Wir waren mit unserer Familie in diesem tollen Haus. Der Pool hat uns gefallen, es hat zwar mehrere Stunden gedauert in warm zu bekommen, aber wir haben es genossen die drei Tage im Pool beim sehr guten Wetter zu nutzen. Die ruhige Lage und die wunderschöne Atmosphäre und Aussicht war atemberaubend. Wir haben die fünf Tage sehr genossen und kommen mit unseren vier Kinden nochmal wieder

Séjour reposant, en pleine nature.
Nous y avons passé une semaine, accompagnés de notre chien. La situation du chalet est idéale, en pleine nature mais facilement accessible. La communication avec le propriétaire a été très facile. Le chalet est tel que décrit dans l’annonce. Après une journée de randonnées en raquettes dans la station de Praz de Lys, quel bonheur de profiter d’un bain et d’un feu de cheminée. Nous y reviendrons certainement.

Wunderschönes Haus in traumhafter Umgebung
Wir waren 2 Wochen in mieussy, wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, das Haus ist hervorragend ausgestattet und sehr liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, tolle Bettwäsche und gute Matratzen, die Bäder sind schön und sauber. Einige große Supermärkte sind gleich in der Nähe. Tolle Wanderwege direkt vom Haus aus. Unglaubliche Aussicht, herrliche Lage, auch unser kleine Hund war sofort “zuhause “. Etwas muss allerdings gesagt werden, der “Whirlpool “ ist ein hottub und bevor der benutzt werden kann, muss über viele Stunden mit großem Verbrauch von Holz geheizt werden, nach einem Tag, haben wir aufgegeben und konnten den hottub nicht einmal benutzen-das war sehr schade, dass sollte in der Beschreibung stehen . Ansonsten konnten wir uns prima erholen, vielen Dank Tom und Gaby

Merveilleux sejour dans les montagnes aux couleurs d'automne
Nous avons passé une semaine formidable dans le Chalet de Irene et Nigel; Le chalet est superbe, tres cosy, chaleureux et très bien décoré. La vue est époustouflante, les environs très agréables pour se balader au pied du chalet. Toute la famille a adoré. Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir . Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour. Le chalet est très beau, très bien équipé et très fonctionnel. Les enfants ont beaucoup aimé joué dans le jardin. Tout était tout simplement parfait. Les propriétaires sont également très soucieux du bien être de leurs hôtes. Nous aimerions y retourner

Très joli chalet pour un break entre amis
Le chalet le Moulin est un très joli lieu pour quelques jours de vacances. Atypique, confortable et offrant une superbe vue sur la région, le dépaysement et le repos sont garantis ! Seul petit bémol : le bain canadien fonctionnant au feu de bois, son utilisation en période estival notamment lors d'épisodes de sécheresse est impossible, Malgré cela, nous avons tout de même passé un excellent moment au coeur de la montagne !

Un magnifique chalet, très bien situé dans un cadre de montagne idyllique. La propriété est parfaite pour des vacances en famille. Nous avons passé une excellent semaine d’été sur place, et nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Superbe !
Très joli chalet, très bien équipé et bien placé pour randonnées à pieds, en raquettes, ski de fond et parapente. Vue magnifique ! Au calme.. top ! Nous avons eu toutes les infos nécessaires avant l arrivée. Propriétaire et house keeper très sympas. Merci !!! On recommande !

Un endroit et un chalet idylliques
Chalet idéalement placé pour rayonner dans une région magnifique. Chalet très bien équipé, isolé entouré de forêts avec une vue exceptionnelle à plusieurs plans. Propriétaires d’une gentillesse rare et très attentionnés. Formidable expérience en famille pour se ressourcer.
