I am sorry to say but this message reflects MAINLY the frustration of not being reimbursed the VRBO fees rather than the state of the house. It is important to understand that each cost rental being paid by the traveler is composed of: 1. rental cost that is transferred to the owner (87% of the amount paid by traveler) 2. VRBO fees that VRBO charges to the traveler but VRBO keeps that fee (13% of the amount paid by traveler). It is true that in this case, the VRBO fee was 379 euro, quite a large amount because the traveler was supposed to stay 33 nights. As an owner, I NEVER received the 379 euro that the traveler is asking me to pay. I however sent to the traveler the contact details of the person at VRBO to find a solution with VRBO. From my side, the traveler and I both agreed that I will reimburse him the pro rata amount of the amount I received. Taking into account that the traveler checked in on day 1, he did not complain neither on day 1 or 2 or even 3, he contacted me for the 1st TIME to complain only 7 DAYS after his check in. I understood his unhappiness and we both agreed that I will reimburse him the unused nights which are 26 nights out of 33 nights originally planned. He received his reimbursement of 1800 euro 4 days after his call, but he CAN NOT EXPECT ME TO PAY THE 379 EURO VRBO FEE, MONEY I NEVER RECEIVED. I only kept 659 euro for the 7 nights spent in my house. Now, the damages described are REALLY exaggerated, but I do understand the frustration and I hired a company to fix all the things that were broken, replace all the light bulbs and even to paint the entire house to give it a fresh feeling. I do regret that the house was not up to the standards of this traveler but thankfully other tenants find the house very nice. I wish he would have contacted me the day of check in or even the day after.

Thank you for your comments. The washing machine will be repaired and the vacuum cleaner will be replaced. We try our best to respond to all the comments but also, the appliances are not always taken care of. My washing machine is less than 2 yrs old, but we will get it repaired. I will also ensure that the agent does a deep cleaning of the house. Thank you for your comment

I fully took note of your concern on the cleanliness of the property and I informed our property manager about it. I informed our property manager that the house was not cleaned correctly, and he assured me to be more careful next time. Regarding the fact the house can sleep 8 people, it is clearly mentioned in the advertisement that it is only for children and indeed they are mattresses to put on the floor. I usually put them in my children's bedrooms when my children want to have extra friends for a day or two. The advertisement mentions clearly that it should be used temporarily for children. To avoid any new misunderstanding with my next guests, I will take away this mention of 8 guests. For the kitchen, after your stay, I bought extra glasses, plates and all the necessary that was missing in the kitchen. I always leave extra stock of glasses in the upper cupboard in the kitchen. It is really too bad that you did not ask me. And for the crammed wardrobes, it is true that some occupants leave things behind and the cleaners do not take the responsibility to throw things away, so they pile them up in the wardrobes. I will inform the cleaners to throw things away. For the road going to the supermarkets, there is another way through the beach, then MacDonald's to make you reach the supermarkets (Lidl, Supersol) and also some restaurants very safely. I am sorry that you did not ask me, I would have told you the road I always take with my 3 young children. You mention that there is not else walkable with small children; once again you could have asked me because there is a huge park less than 5 min walk from the house and a great beach promenade of more than 5 km within 2 min from the house. I always give my mobile number and I am reachable by WhatsApp at all times, so it is too bad that you did not contact me during your stay.

I would like to respond to Sharon's comments: 1: For the steps of the apartment, it is indeed clearly mentioned in the advertisement it is a duplex. I will add a picture of the stairs so that people know exactly what they look like. 2: It is right that by Spanish law, it is mandatory to protect the pool and thank God for this as it is for our children's security. I will add a picture of the pool but it is not true that you cannot take sun loungers there. Our neighbours and us always take our sun loungers there. None of my guests have ever complained about this. 3: Unfortunately, many things disappear from the house but we will buy some more sun loungers, as there were only 2 left. Yes it is not possible to leave them on the grass because it destroys the grass and also they can be stolen. It is nice to have a nice garden for the community and if everybody leave their stuff, it will not look nice 4: We have a great community where our president is active and makes sure it is safe, clean and peaceful for everybody. Well my young children (11, 8 and 5) always played in the pool as well as my nephews along with all the people that rented my place in the past. Of course these games should not be dangerous or loud so that it does not disturb the other guests in the residence. Our residence is clean and peaceful and is oriented for families. 5: The air conditioning was repaired and only one air conditioner leaked water out of the 3. Indeed there is no AC on the living room because it opens up to the large terrace. 6. We have 2 BBQ, one indeed is old but the other one is completely new. The main problem with Sharon and her guests is that they were 8 instead of 7 as planned and our professional agent who provides towels to the main hotels in the area, prepares the house for 6. So each person is given one large and one small towel. For the 7th person, I informed the guest in advance that the house is mainly suited and prepared for 6, but if a person is not too picky, they can sleep on the sofa and use their own towels. I wish that this guest could have mentioned that she did not pay me the 2 extra nights that she wanted to add. I wanted to make sure that everything was OK and I went to see her (as I was in Calahonda for 2 days). I was surprised by the number of people in the house. However, she seemed happy except with the AC prb. . For the small inconveniences she experienced I offered her one extra night but never paid me the other one
