La Cala de Mijas is a coastal town in the municipality of Mijas, situated between Fuengirola and Marbella on Spain’s southern Mediterranean coast. It started as a small fishing village and has grown into a well-loved seaside community while retaining much of its traditional character.

La Cala’s coastline includes well-kept beaches that are popular with families and sun-seekers, with the Senda Litoral coastal path connecting La Cala with neighbouring areas, making for scenic seaside strolls and easy bike rides.

You’ll find a range of places from traditional Spanish eateries to international restaurants and beach bars. Supermarkets, boutiques, pharmacies and other essential services are all within easy walking distance of the town centre, while weekly craft and produce markets, along with regular cultural events, create a lively and welcoming community atmosphere.

Alamar is in a quiet residential area close to the centre of La Cala, making walking very practical:

Around 10–15 minutes on foot to La Cala town centre.

Easy access to the beach, promenade, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies.

Flat terrain compared to many Costa del Sol areas, ideal for strolling.

Bus lines M-220 / M-119 connect La Cala with Fuengirola, Calahonda and Marbella

Nearby stops along the main coastal road (N-340/A-7) are a short walk from Alamar
