La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Austin Capitol / Downtown
2/10 Terrible
"Terrible hotel never imagined à la Quinta could be the way this one was. It looked like a creepy hotel from a scary movie
From walls inside room to bedding to carpet eve where you would look just terrible"
"I had an outstanding experience at this hotel, and what truly made my stay exceptional was the incredible staff. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and professionalism. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and taken care of.
The front desk staff were friendly, efficient, and always ready to help with any questions or requests. Housekeeping maintained the room to the highest standard, and their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Even the concierge and support staff were consistently courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to assist.
What sets this hotel apart is the level of care and dedication the staff show to their guests. Their positive attitudes and commitment to excellent service created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere throughout my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for not just a great place to stay, but an unforgettable hospitality experience."

8/10 Good
"Everything was great, it is just a bit confusing since it’s two hotels in one property and the front desk is too far and inconvenient for where the area is, other than that it was great."
"The hotel is nice, clean and quiet. My only complaint would be they wanted $5 for drip coffee, I've never paid that for a sub-par cup of coffee before. "
"Clean and friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was inconvenient. The toilet was enclosed with the shower and the only sink was more for a bar than a bathroom. No counter space. "
"We paid well over 300 for a one-night stay on a Thursday night. I can tell you that it was not worth it. The building is older, the lobby is the smallest I have seen and very crowded. It was maybe 40x40, if that. The rooms are incredibly small with zero privacy. The restroom doors in your room do not go to the floor or the ceiling, so zero privacy there or the shower.
While the staff was nice, I would never choose to stay here again, especially at these rates. "
"Hotel was clean. Staff was great. Breakfast was some-traditional, but ok. Bar was adequately stocked, but a little expensive. Great selection of late-night bar food.
I know they’re going for a different concept, but the rooms are terrible. I felt like I was staying with Bruce Willis in the 5th Element…e Cept his pod was huge by comparison.
The room isn’t big enough for two people to walk past each other at any point. The bathroom is a “pod” that includes toilet and shower in the same space with no real wall between the toilet and the bed. Tv is mounted 2’ above your feet while lying in the hardest bed I’ve ever been on. That was the deal-breaker. Didn’t sleep much of the 3 nights we were there because the mattress was so hard an uncomfortable. Was literally sore the whole trip.
Great location, great staff, great bar, unappealing concept, bad rooms, terrible bed. We learned our lesson. Won’t be back."
