Maison Mimosa is a charming and comfortably furnished holiday home for up to 6 people, located 2 km from the centre of Mimizan-Bourg in a quiet and green setting amid the forests of Les Landes, with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Mimizan and the dunes of the Atlantic coast.<br> In the evening, you can hear the sound of the waves from the terrace.<br><br>With its distinctive character, charming and comfortable interior, and spacious garden, the house is an ideal place to spend your holiday: peaceful surroundings—the ocean, the lake, and the forest—and close to many sports opportunities such as golf, rowing, sailing, fishing, biking, hiking, surfing, and more. <br><br>For golf: the Mimizan golf course is right in front of the house, with the entrance just 100 metres away. The rates for a 9- or 18-hole round, lessons with a pro, and practice at the driving range are very reasonable.<br><br>The Base Nautique is located just 300 metres behind the house on the beautiful Lake Aureilhan. There, you can row on an official rowing course and rent boats for surfing, sailing, rowing, or canoeing.<br>For anglers: the lake is known for carp fishing. The water is very clean, but swimming is only permitted in certain areas due to the protected natural environment and vegetation. <br>A walk along the lake on the beautiful Route Fleurie is highly recommended.<br><br>For cycling: There is a bike path along the road in front of the house, leading directly to Mimizan.<br>By following this path through the dunes, you can cycle to the beaches of Mimizan-Plage or to other villages in the region. <br><br>The house has a unique history.<br>In 1910, the Duke of Westminster, a close relative of the British royal family, had a hunting lodge <br>built—now known as the Château de Woolsack— surrounded by staff quarters, a dog kennel, horse stables, etc., on a large estate in Mimizan on the shores of Lake Aureilhan. Everything was built by staff using materials imported from England in the typical South African/Neo-Dutch architectural style, modelled on an original farmhouse in Cape Town. <br>The Duke was a member of the international jet set of his time. Many famous guests came here regularly to hunt, party, and relax, including Coco Chanel, Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, Salvador Dalí, and others.<br>The owners would be happy to tell you more about this.<br><br>Maison Mimosa and the adjacent Maison Camélia are part of the château’s former stables. <br>In the 1980s, the stables were converted into individual homes while retaining their original character. The interiors of the homes have since been modernised.<br><br>Today, Mimosa is a very comfortable home, well-equipped and pleasantly furnished and decorated. <br>It measures 60 m² and accommodates 6 people in 2 bedrooms—one for 2 people and one for 4—with a living/dining room, a modern and well-equipped kitchen, and a shower room with a toilet.<br>In front of the house is a patio with patio furniture and a built-in BBQ in a 1,500 m² well-maintained and fully fenced yard, divided into two sections for Mimosa and the adjacent Maison Camélia.<br><br>Bedding can be provided for an additional fee.<br>Pets are welcome; 1 pet is included in the rental price. A supplement applies for additional pets. The maximum number is 2; please consult with the owner in advance.<br><br>During peak season (July and August), the minimum rental period is 1 week, with arrival and departure on Saturday.<br>During low and mid-season, a minimum rental period of 4 nights is possible, with arrival and departure on any day of the week.<br>For heating during the colder months, there are electric radiators in all rooms.<br><br>The ocean beaches are located in Mimizan-Plage, 5 km away by car or 4 km by bike.<br><br>With its beautiful white beaches and clear blue ocean waters, Mimizan-Plage is a bustling and popular seaside resort. In the summer, the village is very lively, with musical and cultural activities every day.&
