About this property
Fantastic duplex in the Historic District
We are glad to be back offering our bright, art deco era upper unit with great living area that overlooks other unique homes in a historic district. It is three easy blocks to the light rail and close to downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, trails, breweries and restaurants.
The duplex was built in 1925 and maintains its original art deco feel. The dark woodwork, door hardware, North and South side piano windows, winding staircase and hardwood flooring throughout the home are inviting and warm. The windows on three sides of the living room provide a fun "tree house" view of the lovely homes on our quiet street and make a great spot to relax or work in the afternoon sunshine. The deck off the second bedroom faces the back yard is the perfect place to spend a summer evening.
There are two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 contains one queen sized bed and ceiling fan. Bedroom #2 has two twin beds. Both rooms have dressers and closet space.
The spacious living room includes lots of comfortable seating, flat screen TV, DVD player and Netflix access. There are also a variety of games and books for guests to use.
The full kitchen is clean, updated and provides items needed to cook meals. It has a full sized refrigerator, oven, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher.
The bathroom is a typical size for the era and has a deep tub with a shower.
The dining room boasts a classic plate shelf and two large West facing windows that bring in the afternoon light. The large dining table can easily seat six.

A great location as it was so easy to get around to either downtown areas and cute neighborhoods in the area. Property as described and easy to work with. Very comfortable beds!
Wonderful VRBO experience! Owner was accommodating and responsive. The place was clean, organized, and nice location near downtown, trails, shops, and food.
We loved staying in this vintage upstairs duplex. It has a tree-house feel and overlooks a beautiful street in the historic Prospect Park neighborhood. The home was comfortable, quiet, and everything was provided for a great stay. There was even a high chair for our little one.
Comfortable beds and air conditioning.
Thank you!
We loved the overall ambiance of the place. All of the windows made the light fantastic. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. It was within walking distance of many places. The walk to the light rail was easy. Kitchen was fully stocked. We really enjoyed out stay and would stay again when we are in the area.
Pleased with location of this property relative to U of M campus (pool). Home small but worked great for 2 adults and 2 kids. Older home so some squeaks with the floors. Steps to enter and get to 2nd floor were a surprise, but manageable. Would be hard for someone with bad knees, elderly, etc.
Would stay again.
We had a great time staying at this charming apartment, with beautiful wood floors and 12-paned windows that brought in the light from outside. We arrived on the record heat day of 88 in April, and the owners were very responsive and quickly installed wall units that usually go up in May. The apartment was quite comfortable, with personal touches that made us feel very much at home. Thanks for having us.
The property was perfect. I enjoyed staying in this home. It reminded me of an Aunt's home in Minneapolis. It was clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything I needed (including a tea pot). The bedding smelled great and the bed was comfortable. It was a perfect location between Brooklyn Center and Inver Grove Heights where I was driving between every day. My son and I spent part of one day enjoying recommendations close by the home as well. I would highly recommend.
This property was everything they described and more. My husband and I stayed for two weeks in January. I was in school all day, and my husband worked from the dining room table. I can't imagine a sweeter home-away-from-home.
The kitchen was well equipped for real cooking. The master bedroom was comfortable - no trouble sleeping at all. The bathroom was what you could reasonably expect from an older property, but perfectly functional. The shower was great, loads better than what you find in many a hotel. The owners attend to every little detail, there were plenty of towels, everything was clearly marked, and they even provided trays for our snowy hiking boots.
Best of all, in the middle of January, with all of those lovely windows, this little gem was cozy and warm.
Even with all the snow the street parking was easy. The owners were lovely and gracious. Thanks to them for a lovely stay!
We were in town to do a college visit at the University of Minnesota. The property was an easy ten minute drive to the U and conveniently located off of I-94, which is why we picked this rental.
Check-in was easy with abundant street parking available. The rental was very clean and looked even better in person than it does in the pictures. The two bedroom set-up was perfect for my husband and I and our two children for our two-night stay. It's located in a very quiet, residential area that felt very safe to us. The only downside is that we didn't really find any restaurants within walking distance of the unit. But other than that we really loved this rental and would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
One thing that I would mention is that although the unit sleeps 4 people and is advertised as such, there is an additional $15 charge per night for the third and fourth guests. Not a dealbreaker for us, but just something to keep in mind if you decide to reserve this property.
Nice, quiet neighborhood. The unit was clean, and the sheets were fresh and crisp. The pots and pans are older and nonstick-coated, so we purchased a stainless steel pot during our stay and left it at the property for future guests. The water is unfiltered tap water, so we opted to buy bottled water. We also picked up a kitchen sponge for washing dishes and body wash, as the small, thin bar soaps provided were not very practical.Overall, we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay.
This place was perfect for a little family getaway. Close to light rail, eateries and my brother-in-law even walked over to the Witches Hat. Great location.
