Quiet and Modern Designed Cottage in St Paul

Modern Cozy Getaways makes old homes have cool vibes! This is a completely remodeled and tastefully furnished St. Paul cottage with a modern, warm, and serene vibe. We’ve restored this side by side duplex and preserved many of the original features from the1920’s. Our inspiration was the muted tones and minimalist comfort of a Mojave dessert villa with vintage and modern wicker, rattan, bamboo and gold furniture, lighting, and fixtures. Come and relax in this private neighborhood in the perfect St. Paul location.

The Space

The Modern and Serene Cottage is a fully renovated 1200 sq. ft. space with 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath. The living area comes with a comfortable Room and Board couch and a sitting area perfect for relaxing, watching the large screen Smart TV, or reading under the light of a modern arc light.

The kitchen has been completely renovated in tan and sand tones with stainless steel appliances, open shelving, and beautiful grey and white quartz countertops. It is loaded with everything you need to make a meal at home and has a coffee bar with drip or French press options. The dining room features a wicker pendant light, mid-century rattan glass top table, and comfortable modern seating.

The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet with new award-winning mattresses. The lower bedroom has a queen bed with the highly reviewed Helix Dusk mattress, voted one of the most popular mattresses for comfort and support. A sliding glass door opens up onto a cute deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the back yard. The room also has a modern Danish desk and accent chair where you’ll be able to work remotely, read a book, or write in your journal. Quiet, perfect, and comfortable.

Up 3 small stairs is the second bedroom, secluded and very quiet with a king bed featuring the Bear mattress which was voted great for athletes and has modern cooling technology for restful sleep.

The bathroom has been transformed into a spa like gem with aqua subway tiles, octagon tile floors, and gold fixtures.

Guest Access

There is ample parking in the front of the cottage. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet with the tree covered Summit Avenue a few blocks away. There are a lot of restaurants and food shops within walking distance of the cottage and there is easy access to main highways into both Minneapolis and other parts of St. Paul.

Great location!

This was a perfect spot for us! Great walking on Summit and close to shops and restaurants but in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Cute place with everything we needed!

Nice stay in St. Paul

This house was the perfect size and location for my son and I. We appreciated arriving to a clean house that was easy to find. Beds were comfy and we had everything we needed. We walked to local restaurants, Whole Foods, and the Ganglehoff Center. We would stay again.

Lovely cottage in charming St. Paul neighborhood

This beautifully decorated bungalow had everything we needed! We enjoyed walks in the neighborhood and the beds were super comfortable. When we return to St. Paul, we hope to stay again. The check-in process and communication with our host(s) couldn't have been easier. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay in St Paul. The property was adorable and so clean. Loved the neighborhood! We were no more than 30 minutes from anything we chose to do (usually like 5-10 min)! The property owner responded promptly when I messaged. Overall would book again!

Great place in St Paul with everything we needed

In town to visit Macalaster College with our daughter. This cute duplex is perfectly located to walk /short drive to campus. Easy access to a Whole Foods and many restaurants within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed for making a complete meal easily. Easy to connect wifi. Loved all the quirky photos! High recommend!

Great stay

The place was clean and quiet. It was stocked with everything we needed. About a 15 min drive to Mall of America and plenty of restaurants and amenities in the area. Listing didn’t make it clear that it was half of a duplex with the other side occupied, but it was no problem. Appreciated the door code being changed for our stay and locks in place for safety. Property manager was very responsive.

Great trip to St. Paul

I was in town visiting my child at Macalester College. The house was in a convenient location to the college. It was clean and warm on a rather cold weekend. If it is available the next time I am in town, I will stay there again.

Perfect home base

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend. The place was just as advertised— very cute, comfortable and clean. We could walk to a few shops and restaurants. We didn’t cook much but found everything we needed. Kitchen seemed well stocked. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed sitting on the back patio with our cups of coffee each morning to plan our day. Would highly recommend and would be happy to stay here again.

A Perfect Spot in our old Neighborhood, with Quick Response from our Host when Needed

This is one of the best bnb's my husband and I have stayed at in our travels. The apartment was beautifully furnished and Christina responded quickly when we had a question. The location was also perfect for us, in the neighborhood where we used to live, on a quiet street, but just a short walk to shops and public transit connections to pretty much anywhere in the Twin Cities and inner suburbs. I hope this apartment will be available next time we visit. If so, we'll definitely stay there again.

Great sewing weekend

The beds and pillows were amazing. Really clean, kitchen well stocked. We only made coffee but there is plenty of everything you would need to make anything. There are several great restaurants that are within walking distance. Quiet neighborhood. Stayed for the weekend to attend a sewing workshop at Treadle Yard Goods. The VRBO list a hot tub but there wasn’t one and the info we received at check in from VRBO didn’t have the WIFi info. We emailed the host and she was great! Fast response! Looking forward to doing another sewing workshop and would definitely stay again

Quant Duplex

The check-in process was easy and Kristina was very responsive with communication, questions, and accommodations. She also ensured that there was a pack n play and an upgraded mattress for our toddler, which we greatly appreciated given the duration of our stay. There were also plenty of extra essentials in the unit. Only downsides of the unit were the shared laundry, the bathroom was a bit tight, and there were no fans in the bedrooms, especially the half-story bedroom as it got a bit warm during the evening. Overall it was a great property for our family and the walking distance to shops/restaurants was a great perk!

Out of State Visit

The duplex was comfortable, convenient, and overall met the expectations of the stay. The owner was quick to respond to inquiries and was pleasant to engage. Check-in was easy. The only area of improvement recommended is ensuring the patio is clean/usable given the price point. Spent time upon arriving cleaning limbs and debris from the patio to not trip/track in debris on the bedroom carpet. Next day during our visit the gutters were cleaned but the debris was knocked off and left on the patio by the door and once again spent 20-30 minutes removing debris/cleaning to utilize the space during the beautiful weather. Other than this minor inconvenience everything was great and the stay was appreciated!

We loved the neighborhood and the fun layout of this little St. Paul duplex unit. The area is super safe and quiet. The backyard deck is beautiful, too. The main area floor plan worked out well for us. The internet was fast. Laundry facilities are in the basement but are easily accessible. The little kitchen had every conceivable amenity. These days, it is rare to find a kitchen with such a wide array of equipment, spices, oils, vinegars, etc. The coffee beans and grinder were especially appreciated! We were also glad to have a wealth of storage supplies, e.g., tupperware and cleaning supplies, too. Our host was a joy to communicate with. Highly recommend this delightful home away from home!

Great Saint Paul Location

Came to Saint Paul for a family event. This was the perfect location. We walked to dinner which was great and got to see all of the beautiful homes on Summit Avenue.
