Our goal is to provide a home away from home as you enjoy all four seasons of beautiful Minnesota. Whether it's spending the day on the lake boating, swimming, or fishing in the Summer, enjoying the beautiful colors of Fall, exploring on the many miles of snowmobile trails or ice fishing in the Winter, or simply watching the migration of a variety of birds in the Spring, the Laid-back Loon is your go-to destination for family fun. If you want to add some city-life to your get-away, the Twin Cities is only a 30-minute drive where can enjoy world class dining, professional and collegiate level sports, entertainment, and shopping!

Quiet & Comfortable Stay

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this quiet and comfortable lake home. The kids enjoyed the paddle boat and kayak, as well as the walkable neighborhood. The home is very clean and well appointed. I would recommend this property to others!

Great Location

We loved the home, yard and lake! The location is close to the city but you feel like you’re in Northern Minnesota. The owners were easy to reach and very nice. We will definitely stay here again!

Flawless Experience!!

Amazing stay at the Laidback Loon! Perfect landing spot for our family of four attending a Wedding in Chisago City. Hosts ware more than accommodating and receptive to answer questions promptly for any of our needs. The property was spotless and well equipped inside and out for an enjoyable stay. The wildlife and sunsets were breathtaking. This property comes highly recommended and we hope to book again in the future. Home Sweet Home

Amazing property! Quiet, beautiful setting. Very well appointed property and the owners are incredible! We felt like we were “home” from the minute we arrived. Truly grateful for the opportunity to spend time with our family at this beautiful location on the lake.

Perfect place to decompress

This was our first vacation in years and was exactly what we were looking for! The house was clean, quiet and not far from all the thing on our list. Wished we’d of stayed longer! We saw loons and even had an eagle land in the backyard to enjoy a fish. Totally recommend this place and would absolutely stay again if we were in the area.

Outstanding Cabin

This cabin has everything we were hoping for and more. It combines all of the things you would want in a stay at the lake, inside and out: lakefront access for swimming, a yard for our grandkids to play in, and beautiful views of the lake from the big windows. The cabin is spacious, with enough room for a family. The owners have thoughtfully provided necessities in the kitchen and throughout. It was a wonderful stay!

Great time at the Laid Back Loon

We stayed at the Laid Back Loon for a family vacation and had a great time. My boys loved tubing on the lake and the fishing off of the dock kept us busy for hours. We are looking forward to staying here in the future. The home was great, very clean, comfortable beds, and enough bathrooms and showers for all 5 of us. The home is also close to grocery stores, so you can take a 15 minute drive and stock up for your stay.

Laidback Loon was absolutely amazing and every detail was thought of. Would give more than 10/10 if I could. The location was so ideal, not too far from town but felt like away from it all. Decor is so welcoming and lake front is beautiful. Would love to stay again. Thank you!

Clean and Comfortable

Lake house was perfect size for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. New. Clean. Comfortable. All the amenities. Fully stocked. The 3 bedrooms attach to separate bathrooms. Access to pier, kayak, paddleboat, paddleboard, fire pit, grill, patio furniture all on property. Friendly owners - nice decorating touch. Playground across street. Fully enjoyed our stay!

Room with a view

My family used this beautiful property as a hub for my daughters wedding that was in the area. Their is a beautiful view of the Lake from two of the bedrooms, the master bathroom as well as the living area. Was very very nice! The property was clean, well stocked and welcoming. During our down time, the kids took out some of the water toys and enjoyed a nice kayak paddle around the shoreline and paddle boat ride. Our family from Alaska was thrilled the water was shallow and warm so the kids could play. I can only imagine how beautiful the views will be in the fall. Would love to stay again!

Great cabin with easy check-in process. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed, and the living room view was spectacular. We enjoyed cornhole in the spacious yard, sitting on the dock listening to the loons and getting out on the pedal boat. We did have several storms roll through but made the best of the sunshine while we had it! We liked having several bathrooms available and the ample sleeping spaces as well. Highly recommend!

Long weekend away

Being within 45 min of MSP and on such a quite lake combined with ample accommodation make this home so convenient for anyone looking for a short weekend all the way through a long summer break.

We had a great day at this property. I love that the rooms all have Roku connected TVs. It was nice that the lake was shallow by the dock for the kids. Place was extremely clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

Perfect family getaway

We had a wonderful time at the Laidback Loon. The home had everything we needed. The shallow lake was ideal for our grandsons (ages 1-1/2 and 3-1/2) and they loved running around on the back lawn area. Thank you for a great visit!
