"It was a special day for me and my date (a surprise for her) for my 51st birthday, and although we arrived roughly 15 minutes before checkin...our room was not close to being ready. We had to wait for a call to let us know when we could go to our room. Although the staff were amazingly nice...they offered an immediate checkin to a room that had lesser amenities and not as nice...without a discount. Again, they ladies were top notch, but I presumed maybe a complementary drink at the bar while we waited or a comped room service drink order once we checked in...and they did ask, but were told no because we were technically early. But, it was over an hour after check in time when we received the call the room was ready. Im not asking for a refund or complaining about the actual stay but, it ruined the moment persay and we felt ...outside of the front desk employees... we were not compensated even with something small...to reconcile the inconvenience. Other equally nice hotels would have offered something to show gratitude. We didn't make a scene and would go back...but I believe the customer service was lacking in that area. Thank you. "My kids and I were extremely pleased with our stay in Kemah. The house, pool, and pier were all amazing. The house is conveniently located near grocery stores and easy walking distance to bars and restaurants, including the Kemah boardwalk. The host was very accommodating and replied promptly to my messages."

"We enjoyed our time in this property. The views out the patio and down the dock are amazing! We also enjoyed the proximity to nearby restaurants and were able to just walk to a very tasty restaurant nearby one night. We also enjoyed the nearness to Houston Space Center.Small cons:- We had trouble finding a carafe that fit the pot coffeemaker. We had spilled water before figuring out a method to make it work, but very manual. There was a single cup machine that probably most people use, so there was an alternative.- The pool table has warping in the center so that balls end up slowly rolling that way. We were relying on the playroom features of the house (and had picked this rental over other specifically for the pool table) for our teenage boys, so this was a little disappointing. They did end up playing a bit on the ping-pong table and foosball table instead. - FYI, there is no door between the master bathroom and bedroom, although the toilet is behind a door- FYI for anybody with scent allergies, there were 4-5 scent plugins throughout the house. We unplugged them. The towels were washed with scented detergent.Pros: - The kitchen and refrigerator were plenty roomy for making our meals- Eating table has a fantastic view- Bathrooms were very nice- Game room was handy for teenagers- Monitoring crab cages was fun, and releasing the crabs was fun too- Good air conditioning for the heat and humidity- Although in an area with lots of restaurants, felt very secluded"

"This was our second stay at this property and I can't recommend it enough! The location is fantastic! It's an easy walk to the Kemah Boardwalk and has an amazing view of Galveston Bay.The house itself is very clean, well appointed and well laid out. The kids enjoyed the ping pong and fooseball table, as well as the old school arcade console and giant connect four. We loved the pier and sunset views as well!The owners were very communicative and easy to work with and the rules and procedures were reasonable and easy to handle!We definitely plan on staying again sometime."
