Spacious Lakeside Berkshire Home Close to Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow

  • The lakeside house is built on a 1.1 acre lot with view of Lake Garfield. It is only a few minutes walk to the town's beach with life guards on site. This one-level modern home has vaulted ceilings throughout. There are two master suites with king beds and two other bedrooms with queen beds. A walk out deck from one of the master bedrooms so you can enjoy morning coffee. Three common spaces include a loft for guests to chill out. A new washer and dryer is in one of the guest bathrooms. The kitchen with new stainless steel appliances is equipped with premium cooking tools and pots. Guests can hang out at the kitchen counter bar stools while someone is preparing meals. A gas grill is available on the front deck which can be accessed from the kitchen or the great room. There are two gas fireplaces to keep you cozy at night time.

    In the summer, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Center and Tanglewood Music Center are about 25 to 30 minutes away. In the winter, Ski Butternut resort is about 10 minute drive. Monterey is a small secluded town with one general store, the Bidwell Museum and a few small farms where you can get fresh milk, eggs, pork, chicken, maple syrup, goat cheese, fruits and vegetables. It is only a 15 minute drive to Great Barrington where local gift shops, organic grocery stores and farm-to-table and gastronomic restaurants are located. If you like shopping, Lee Premium Outlets is 15 minutes away.

Great stay near Butternut

Took family on a trip to Butternut and this was the perfect house for my family of 5. House was clean and cozy, bed comfortable and lots of space for my 3 kids. Easy drive to downtown Great Barrington. We would stay here again in the future.

Awesome stay

Perfect long weekend stay for a group of 10 including kids. The house is huge with lots of great amenities. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Berkshires with a large group. Local beach was great also and everyone there super friendly.

A memorable gathering of siblings

My siblings and I gathered with our significant others in this well equipped and comfortable house nested in the woods in the Berkshires. We enjoyed sharing memories in this quiet setting. The beds were so comfortable, we all slept well. We were sorry we couldn’t see the lake from the deck because of trees and foliage but we were able to walk to the beach. We didn’t use the kayaks as they were too heavy for the group (all over 75). We enjoyed our trips to Jacobs Pillow and the Norman Rockwell museum. We spent our evenings gathered around the house’s large dining table eating our evening meal while laughing about our youth.

Great vacation home with friends

The house was great for our group of 4 couples, plus two of our young adult children for part of the time. Communication with Cindy was terrific! The house is lovely, spacious, bright, comfortorable, and well furnished. The kitchen is the best rental kitchen I've ever stayed in. It was great sitting in the living room and on the deck looking out on the lake, and it's a short walk to the beach. It's close to both Great Barrington and Lee. The only minor downside for us was that, although there was lots of space when we were in smaller subgroups, it was a bit crowded for all 10 of us to be together in the same space for meals or socializing. (for example: the patio table has 6 chairs, plus 3 adironack chairs that don't work well for sitting at the table. The livingroom sectional is comfortable but we needed to bring in some dining room chairs to all be in the livingroom at once). That being said, I'd still gladly stay at Cindy's house again.

Ski Weekend

Cindy's place is perfect for a family getaway - the floor plan is open - there is natural sunlight throughout the entire house and the views are incredible. The first floor has multiple places to hang out with 2 living room areas to gather for some family fun. There is also a beautiful loft to enjoy TV or just relax on the couch's. The kitchen has everything you need to stay in and cook meals and has seating at the island that can accommodate 4. There is also a dining room which would accommodate up to 10 at the same table. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms were all fully stocked with all the essentials you need. The house was extremely clean and comfortable, clearly designed thoughtfully to accommodate guests. We used the gas fireplace's every night we were there - plenty of space for all eight of us to sit comfortably and enjoy the warmth of the fire. There is also an area on the main floor to watch TV and there is a wrap around couch to accommodate up to eight people. There is also an added bonus a 2 car garage that we used since there was a storm the weekend we stayed - so nice not to have to scrape/take the snow off the cars. The host is nice and very professional, and easy to reach out to if needed and responds right away. I would highly recommend staying here if you plan on visiting the Berkshires.

Beautiful home!

The property was wonderful! The exterior looked very well maintained but did prepare us for just how lovely the inside would be. Was extremely spacious and looked like a gigantic log cabin. Each room was spotless and very nicely decorated. The thing that my husband & I loved the most was that our master/king bedroom was located on the west side of house and all the others were on the east side. Since we tend to prefer a cooler home climate than the others do, we were able to control our own thermostat, especially at night for sleeping! The living and dining areas were very nice and cozy. Our only complaint was that the Living Room did not have a TV. But there was a TV in the loft area, which was beautiful! There was another tv in the other master bedroom. Being that we were there for a family reunion , to catch up with each other,the missing Tv wasn’t an issue. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. The view from front porch was very pretty! The was also a side porch. We all agreed that a fire pit there would have completed the magnificent home! Would definitely recommend!!

This house is amazing. It's beautiful, it's spacious and its kitchen is incredibly well stocked! The house is clean, and the beds and couches are all comfortable. In addition, Cindy and Dave are responsive, caring hosts. When we had an issue with one of the thermostats on the first night, Cindy messaged and called me. They also had a neighbor come over the next morning to fix it on Thanksgiving Day when we were unable to do so. I would definitely stay here again!
