Fauna was a delightful place to stay in Montevideo. It is an easy walk from the boat to Fauna, and Geronimo is super-friendly and helpful. The living room is very comfortable, and we enjoyed coffee there in the morning and after-dinner drinks there before we went to bed. The old city is charming, and Geronimo had excellent suggestions about where to go to eat.

The place is hidden from the street easy to walk past quiet but in a great location in La Ciudad Vieja. The owner is a fantastic person we were extremely comfortable there. Too many great places to eat

This was a gift I gave to my son and his girlfriend: 2 nights stay at Fauna. My son said this was one of the best hotels he ever stayed in. Absolutely loved everything about it and can’t stop bragging how great his stay was. I thank the owner and staff for an amazing experience!

Fantastic

What the owners did with the place is fantastic. Loved the retro feel. Place was spotless clean, wifi was good and hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Street is pedestrian and close to restaurants etc. Would definitely stay there again.

FAUNA Montevideo is right in the heart of Ciudad Vieje so the perfect spot ot explore the city. Jeronimo is an amazing "host" to assist you with what to see and do. Highly recommend!

If you are looking to stay in the old city this place is perfect. Jero is an excellent host. Very helpful. Location is convenient & safe on pedestrian only avenue. Room 105 very nice.

Fauna Hotel is a boutique hotel in the old town area of Montevideo- it exceeded our expectations for so many reasons. Jeronimo and Solidad were exceptional hosts, ensuring our stay was a great experience. The hotel is an absolutely beautifully restored building with attention to every detail - very thoughtfully and tastefully finished! We found ourselves looking around constantly to absorb and appreciate the real beauty of the building! Location is also fantastic within walking distance to the main sites and attractions. The city of Montevideo is fortunate to have people with the skills and passion of Jeronimo and Solidad to restore such historic buildings. Wishing we had a longer stay!

Hotel no coração da cidade

Minha estadia no Fauna foi muito boa. A chegada, com o atendimento cuidadoso dos proprietários, que nós receberam e ainda deram dicas muitos boas de restaurantes na região. Os quartos são bem confortáveis e silenciosos. O hotel e bem novinho e charmoso, com uma decoração muito bonita. A região do centro de Montevideo, onde está o hotel, ainda é um pouco deserta em, determinados horários, mas nos sentimos seguros para caminhar por ali. O hotel fica a poucos metros do Mercado do Porto, que é uma região com várias opções gastronômica. Também está bem próximo da orla.

A charming stay in the heart of Montevideo

Our stay at Fauna Montevideo was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, Jeronimo provided a warm and welcoming reception, setting the tone for a wonderful experience. He was also incredibly kind in recommending cafes, bars, restaurants, and things to do and see, which made our time in Montevideo even more enjoyable. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning decor that blends modern elegance with unique, thoughtful touches. Every corner of the space exudes charm, and even the subtle fragrance throughout the hotel adds to its inviting atmosphere. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, well-appointed with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. While the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, they provide complimentary fresh fruit in the lobby, which is a lovely touch. The location is perfect for exploring Montevideo. Situated in the heart of the Old Town, it’s within walking distance of many historic sites, cafes, bars, and restaurants, making it an excellent base for discovering the city. Overall, Fauna Montevideo is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for a stylish, comfortable, and centrally located boutique hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Montevideo!

Great little boutique hotel, located in the Old Town of Montevideo. Really close to the Buquebus ferry terminal from Buenos Aires. Jeronimo, really helpful and reached out to me night before about my arrival from BA and allowed for early check in. Hotel located within walking distance to historic sites and restaurants, hotel really quiet and clean. Definitely recommend staying here.

Jag är alltid noga med att ge ärliga recensioner, då jag alltid läser recensioner innan jag bokar. Helt ärligt kan jag säga att detta är ett fantastiskt litet hotell i gamla stan nära till många sevärdheter. 15 minuter med taxi från busstationen. Underbar ägare som var otroligt hjälpsam och trevlig. Hans engelska höll mycket hög nivå (och han talar givetvis även spanska perfekt). Hotellet är mycket lugnt och tyst med en lounge eller ett vardagsrum i lobbyn. Mycket trevligare än de flesta hotell jag varit på och mycket mer inbjudande. Det finns även både alkohol och en helt ny kaffemaskin i lobbyn (jag dricker vare sig alkohol eller kaffe men toppen för er som gillar det), samt alltid en massa frukt och godis. Rummet och badrummet där är allt helt nytt och superfräscht. Väldigt rent och vackert. Te, vattenflaskor och uttag för internationella resenärer, dvs de passade mina svenska och argentinska elsaker såsom tex laddare. Netflix på stor tv utan att man måste ha eget konto. Jättevarmt vatten länge (inte en självklarhet på många hotell). Inrett av någon med en fantastisk smak. Jag bodde i 3 nätter (inte 2) då jag stannade en natt extra. Jag sov jättebra i den sköna sängen. Det finns ingenting att klaga på. Jag skulle gärna flytta hotellet och ha det som mitt eget hus i min hemstad. Bilderna är rättvisande Kort sagt: det är som att bo hemma hos en väldigt god vän med superb smak och som ställer upp och ger goda råd och tips och finns där hela tiden. Det blir inte bättre.
