"What an amazing time we had in Orvalhos! The house sits on a hill where it overlooks the Alentejo plaines. In the mornings , the sounds of bells and birds always made me happy. The locals are just as nice! The house was very clean and it had all we needed. We kept it warm by using the fireplace every evening. "Beautiful historic hotel . Rooms could do with electric outlets next to the beds and bathrooms could be updated. The service is bit too formal- when we requested a dinner reservation we could not get the time we wanted and when we arrived a half hour after our requested time there were only two tables taken- it was empty. Alentejo Marmoris Hotel & Spa, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

"We stayed in this hotel for one night. It’s right in the heart of the wine region and we visited a vineyard before arriving for the night. Easy to park in the underground car park but there’s also plenty of parking on the street. Super easy check-in and offered drink as we arrived which was nice. The hotel has an indoor pool and some Thermo circuit spas which were great to relax in the afternoon and morning. Lovely breakfast with a good choice, including eggs Benedict. The bedroom was nicely decorated with a decent king-size bed that was very comfortable blackout blinds, large pretty windows. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel we opted to walk out to one of the local restaurants. There was plenty of choice."
